Wake up to picturesque views of the beautiful Spokane river and Rathdrum mountains, while staying only 15 minutes from both downtown Coeur D Alene and Post Falls. Our secondary lot offers a scenic plot, removed from town but within easy driving distance of local activities and restaurants. You will park next to our shop, which offers privacy from the road, but please take note of its placement in our photos to ensure that will work for your stay. The main property and home are next door, and we are easily reachable if you need anything during your visit. We offer year round electrical hook-ups, and fresh water in Spring, Summer and Fall (the pipes are winterized from approximately the end of October-March, depending on the snow season). While there is only 1 electrical hook-up, there is space for an additional vehicle, and options for parking locations if electrical is not required. During your stay, keep an eye out for our neighborhood moose family, our year-round bald eagles, and our many deer, quail, and turkey friends. Winter camping is available, but please note that we can receive large amounts of snow. Please reach out with any questions! Riverview Woodland Retreat - CDA
Wylie was an amazing host! The property was easy to find, peaceful, and beautifully maintained. Communication was quick and helpful, and Wylie made sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The campsite itself was clean, quiet, and had plenty of space to relax and enjoy the outdoors. Would definitely stay here again — highly recommend Wylie’s place to anyone looking for a great Hipcamp experience!

This was the perfect stop over for the night. Wylie was out to greet me and guide me in when I arrived. We had a nice conversation while his dog and mine go to know each other for a few minutes. Even though the site is near his house, it still felt very separate and private enough. The view was gorgeous and the location was perfect for getting back on the road.

It's a god location to camp for a few days to explore the area, but the site is tucked in behind a barn with a home on one side. Despite the nice river view it isn't really a natural setting. There is distant highway noise.

Great spot with and incredible view! We just stayed one night as we were passing through, but it was in a lovely neighborhood and directions were great. Excellent communication from Wylie and we met her Dad who was staying on the property nearby. He gave us great breakfast recommendations. Electric hookup was super convenient and they had a trash can near by. Thank you Wylie! Definitely recommend if you’re looking to stay in the area!

A Peaceful Riverside Retreat

Wylie’s land is a gem! The standout feature is the amazing view of the river. The peaceful atmosphere was perfect for unwinding, and we were thrilled to spot some local wildlife during our stay. The site’s proximity to Coeur d’Alene was a huge plus—quick trips for food or coffee were a breeze, yet it still felt like a secluded escape. The full hookups were a game-changer, making our stay comfortable and hassle-free. Wylie’s hospitality truly elevated the experience. He went above and beyond, helping us troubleshoot a tricky trailer hitch latch with patience and kindness. We also loved chatting with him—his warmth and local knowledge made us feel right at home. Bonus: his recommendation for the Garnet Café was spot-on; it was an amazing dining experience! We can’t recommend Wylie’s land enough for a relaxing, well-equipped, and memorable camping trip. Thank you, Wylie, for an amazing stay!

The good: Great view of the river, easy to find. Convenient power and a nice set up with a picnic table. Beautiful area! Could be better: It's literally right next to the house and shop, with minimal space. Perfect for a night to crash, not a place to spend much time. Really had that "camping in someone's driveway" feel.

Absolutely beautiful and serene spot with gorgeous views and soft breezes in a lovely neighborhood overlooking the river. Great hospitality and prompt, welcoming responses. I traveled to the spot with my teenage daughter in our camper van rental on a PNW tour— highly recommend!

This campsite is in a wonderful location. The site has a lovely view and Ed tghe owner was very nice! Easy in and out. There is a very nice park on the road on the way in with swimming beach.

We had the best time here! This was one of my first experiences on Hipcamp and it was wonderful. The site is very clean and well taken care of and the view is beautiful. The host is very quick to communicate and super nice. We will definitely come back next Summer.

The hosts at this site are very helpful. The neighborhood is safe and it features a nice Riverview of the Spokane river. The site is easy to get in and out of and there is much to do in the area. It feels private in spite of being in a residential area. There is a slight navigational confusion with the road name. The address with hip camp said "North foothills" and Google maps identified it as "west foothills". The Google directions took us to the correct foothills, whatever that is.

We enjoyed our stay and it was a great place to explore the surrounding area, CDA, Post Falls and Hayden. It was very quiet and we enjoyed the views.

Wylie’s place was just right for us. The hookups were convenient and he had a nice view of the river. We set up and then took the short drive to town for dinner. Wylie is a good guy. He is very friendly and was accommodating to us.

This is a very basic gravel pad next to a big pole barn. Pros: electric and potable water (hose). Lovely view. Close to town Cons: close neighbors, basic gravel pad and picnic table. Could use sprucing up. Would be nice to have a portapotty or access to bathroom in the workshop/ pole barn.

The Riverview Woodland Retreat was a great place to rest our heads for the night on our road trip! It’s located a few minutes drive off of the highway with lovely views, which is a wonderful wind down to a driving day. The owner came over to say hi and make sure we had all we needed, plus their booklet by camp was so helpful. The views on site were amazing, with amazing a beautiful sunset and sunrise and we even saw a family of deer! The area is quiet, the dogs were able to potty and explore well, and the picnic table and swings were a great addition. We have plans to come back already on the route back and we’re so glad we do!

Beautiful views of the Spokane River. We needed a spot for one night to rest before continuing home, this was perfect. Quiet and safe; we didn’t need the hookups that were available but would have liked to take advantage of them to explore CDA and Post Falls. Love the spot, will definitely be back!

We loved the scenery and location. Conveniently located mid-way between CDA and Post Falls. Far enough away to be secluded, but close enough to amenities. Highly recommend.
