Small sites with no real water view
We had a good stay overall, and the campground was clean, peaceful, and well maintained. We booked Tent Site 1 on Fern Trail, which is a small walk-in site. With our 3-4 person tent, there wasn’t much room left for anything else, and parking is in a shared lot, so you do need to carry your gear in.
After our stay, I realized I had misunderstood the campground layout. We thought the Fern Trail sites were the main tent sites and that the larger sites were for RVs only. The larger sites can also accommodate tents, and had we understood that, we probably would have chosen one of those for the extra space and vehicle access.
One thing I would still note is that the illustrated campground map makes the Fern Trail sites appear much closer to the lake than they actually feel. We chose Site 1 partly because it looked very close to the water and dock, but from the campsite itself there was very little lake view.
Overall, it was a nice campground and we would stay again. I’d just recommend looking closely at the different site types and choosing one that best fits the amount of space and access you want.
