This area is a fabulous collision of cultures that gives a Rustic-Mountain-Beach-relaxed-adventure vibe! (say that 3 times fast!) This is evident even on our property, as historically, it has been a hippy gathering site, a logging area, and a cattle range! We bought it as our 'forever home' and are working to create a forested ranch retreat. The property is off grid and offers all the serenity and remote feeling of a National Forest, but has quick access to daytime fun relaxation at the beach. For those who love both land and water, it couldn't be a better combination! Learn more about this land: RUSTIC MOUNTAIN BEACH DREAM! Camp in mountain solitude with the lake and beach only a short drive away. Enjoy Scotchman's peak and mountain views, sightings of wildlife and horses, stargazing, forest trailheads just down the quiet road; all in a relaxed beachy atmosphere. Shopping, tourist attractions, and all that comes with an eclectic town are just an hour away in Sandpoint. However, a few excellent restaurants can be found in Clark Fork and Hope. Campsites are private and out of view of our off-grid home but just a quick walk away. And you just might enjoy adventure tales from us about riding our horses across America, or make memories when we take you in to pet our horses, collect chicken eggs...or share in whatever farm excitement is happening!  A note for booking your best stay: Campsite 1 has the best views, but is best for tent camping or very short trailers. Campsite 2 is flatter and the better option for trailers, oversize tents, and larger groups.

Great time camping. Private spot at campsite 2. Excellent fire pit, surrounded by trees, sounds of horses and chickens nearby. Felt secluded and safe. Very nice people, super cute young kids who, if encountered, will chat with you and show you their biking skills! Got potable water from hose near house. Trails and hiking nearby. Very beautiful area and views of the mountains. Would come back. Thanks folks!

Sweet family and nice place to stay
The hosts and their sweet boys went out of their way to show us around and make us feel welcome. My girls and I loved getting to hold the baby bunnies! 😍

Peaceful Homestead
What a WONDERFUL place! Jeannette and her family are some of the nicest people, and their love for sharing their property made this such a fun stay. It was so quiet and peaceful here, we could see millions of stars at night and had a super fun time getting to walk around and see their animals, and we even got to hold the baby bunnies! This is a family-friendly stay, but really perfect for anyone who wants to get away and experience peaceful off-grid homestead life.

Rustic , great night sky
This is a beautiful area, but it is rustic. If you’re tent camping make sure to bring a sturdy tarp to protect the floor of tent. The host was out of town and had someone housesitting. Which was nice because you are in the woods, and I don’t know if I would’ve felt comfortable being that far out without having people around. The night sky at this campsite was amazing, No light pollution. we were able to see the Milky Way and lots of falling stars. If you’re looking for a rustic out-of-the-way private spot this is it. If you’re looking for a place to play in the water while in the area, check out Trestle Creek recreation area about 15 to 20 minutes away.

Clark Fork Getaway ☺️🏕
This is an amazing place to camp and feel like you’re in nature! I would definitely recommend mosquito spray as it saved our lives this weekend! If it’s a clear sky, watching the stars is a MUST! It was also fun to walk around and see the animals roam I will note, it is a trek up a steep hilly, bumpy & rocky road so make sure the car you bring can deal with some off road driving!

This is a great location, I would definitely stay here again. Directions were easy to follow and the site was nice and flat. The road was a little rough, but nothing most rigs can’t handle. The site had a nice fire ting complete with seating. Just don’t forget the bug spray!

Great stay!
This place had everything we needed. The hosts are so nice, and have the sweetest little boys who came to say hi the day we were leaving. We chose this site for its proximity to the scotchman peak hike which was absolutely incredible and minutes down the road..highly recommend!

I spent the last two nights and Jeanette and Richard's, it was great! They are friendly, gracious host with a lot of helpful information. Lots of stuff to do nearby, boating, fishing, etc. The view of stars at night from their hilltop property were spectacular. Highly recommended! Thanks Jeanette and Richard!

So Nice, We Had to Stay Twice
We enjoyed our stay even more than our first visit last year. It was fun watching all the animals, especially the new kitten. The company of our hosts was second to none and we feel like family. It was so quiet and peaceful there. It was super close to a wonderful boat launch that we used to kayak from both trips. We highly recommend camping with Jeannette and Richard. You'll come as strangers and leave as friends.

Peaceful with lots close by
This spot is peaceful with a lot of access to beautiful rivers and lakes. The hosts are friendly and easy to communicate with, plus they have a pretty cool story about riding their horses across the country over 2 years (and I thought 10 weeks in a car was tough!). They keep the outhouse clean and the spot we stayed was large and quite with a pretty view through the trees. From site 2 you can watch their horses too which we loved.

Jeannette & Richard were very welcoming and friendly hosts. Communications were great and Jeannette gave great recommendations. We also enjoyed chatting and riding bikes with their kids. Their place is a little bit off the main road with beautiful mountains and a primitive campground.

Jeannette and her family were terrific hosts. Campsite #2 was perfect for our set-up. #1 is a bit small, we made the mistake of reserving it we were having difficultly backing our tear drop into it, so she let us move to #2 since there were no other reservations. I recommend #1 for tents and #2 for trailers, but that's just me. We brought kayaks and the have us a great recommendation for a place to use it that we LOVED. Be sure to ask them about it.

Wonderful place to see the stars!
Such amazing hosts and a beautiful location! We loved star gazing over bonfire! This location is truly on a mountain and far from towns, which makes it all that more enjoyable. A four wheel drive vehicle was helpful for the last couple miles to get there. Thanks for the wonderful memories!

Home on the Range Campsite was perfect! The location is beautiful. Jeannette and her family were wonderful. They were very welcoming, and my kids had a wonderful time playing with their two boys. Even their dog seemed to welcome us like family! Jeanette is so nice, and was excited to show us around and involve us in their wonderful ranch. We will never forget this wonderful experience, and hope to make it back to visit again someday!

Not as quiet as we hoped
There was more noise than expected. if quiet is important to you, check with the hosts if and how long they plan to use their generator. We stayed one night, and the generator ran until 10:50pm, to our chagrin. There are also lots of chickens and ducks which are cool, but they start making noise ~4am. Campsite one has a slant to it. The spot to put a tent is quite small, but we were able to partially fit our 5-person tent. As stated in the site details, there is no picnic table, so keep in mind if you are tent camping - we learned we need a table. Also, there is absolutely no shade on campsite one. (there was shade on campsite two though). If tent camping this is rough to not have any protection while puttering around your site, cooking, etc. . .

This was my daughter & I's 1st camping trip together. Richard & Jeannette made it an absolutely great experience, so much so, that we might come back again before the season ends! Their kids were very welcoming as well, just a delightful time! They really make you feel like part of the family, but respect your space too. Loved all the animals, my daughter & I have memories to cherish for a long time. Thanks again to our wonderful hosts!

I was grateful to have Jeanette's space to come to after a long drive with full campground signs at every park. The site was private, and Jeanette and her family (including dog, horses, mule and black face lamb) were very welcoming. I was able to fill up on potable water and got a good night's sleep among the beautiful trees.

BEST CAMPSITE EVER
The most beautiful place. To say the property and campsite was amazing would be an understatement. Jeanette and her husband were also a tremendous support! I loved the place so much that I booked an extra night and Jeanette went above and beyond for me to book the extra night. Her kids are adorable too. My only regret is that I did not stay longer :) but all the more reason to come back!

Best Campsite Ever!
Jeanette and her husband were truly wonderful hosts. The property is GORGEOUS. My partner and I only booked for a night but decided as we got there that we must stay another day. Jeanette was so patient and even helped me book via her wifi! Both her and her husband gave us plenty of recommendations too. This area of Idaho is beautiful and definitely not at all what I expected- I know we will come back and certainly stay here again :) We still have a hike to do on our list, but couldn’t because of the rain. I hope to be back sooner than later! Oh, and all of their animals are SO cute. Plus her two kids which are just as sweet and accommodating as their parents!
