Escape to a private retreat overlooking Black Lake in North Idaho. On 11 wooded acres above the Black Lake community, Black Lake Overlook Retreat offers beautiful views, space to explore, and easy access to some of the Pacific Northwest's best adventures- combing privacy, natural beauty, and peace in one of North Idaho's most iconic settings along the Rose Lake Scenic Byway. Black Lake Overlook Retreat allows visitors to slow down and enjoy the outdoors. Lake views, birdsong, colorful sunsets, star-filled skies, sunny days, shady hammocks, wildflowers, and thimbleberry bushes are all part of the experience. Days can be spent exploring nearby trails, lakes, rivers, and mountain towns before returning to camp for a quiet evening overlooking the water. The property is our family's private retreat - conveniently located above Black Lake, and near Harrison, Coeur d'Alene, Wallace, the Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes, Route of the Hiawatha, Silverwood Theme Park, Silver Mountain Resort, and countless opportunities for hiking, biking, fishing, kayaking, swimming, wildlife watching, birding, and exploration. The location offers the best of both worlds: privacy and space of 11 wooded acres with convenience just minutes away. Valley Mart convenience store, fuel, and basic supplies are only 10 minutes from the property. Waterfront dining, ice cream, shopping, full grocery, and public sandy beach 25 minute drive from property, or bike into town on the trail for a day of sightseeing, wildlife watching, and adventure - right from Black Lake. About Our Retreat This retreat is stems from the dream of sharing this area with friends and family. There have been countless hours of clearing brush, cutting trails, caring for the land, and slowly bringing the vision to life. Our hope is to create a place where family and friends can gather, and future generations of our children/grandkids can enjoy the same connection to nature, adventure, and time together. We're grateful to share with guests who appreciate quiet mornings, outdoors, camp-cooked meals, exploration, adventures, colorful sunsets, and star-filled nights. Happy Camping, KaraThe Terrace Campsite Perched above Black Lake, The Terrace offers sweeping lake views, peaceful seclusion, and a front-row seat to some of North Idaho's most beautiful scenery. Wake up to lake views and fall asleep under a sky full of stars. The Terrace is designed for guests who appreciate nature, privacy, star-filled skies, and simple off-grid comforts. Mornings begin with coffee overlooking the lake. Days can be spent hiking, biking, kayaking, fishing, boating, or exploring nearby mountain towns. Evenings bring colorful sunsets, the glow of the pellet stove, and a sky full of stars. Best suited for couples, solo travelers, and families with older children who are comfortable in a natural outdoor environment. The Terrace sits on a bench above Black Lake with expansive views. Because the site borders steep natural terrain, it is not suitable for young children or guests who may have difficulty navigating uneven ground. Site Amenities • 13-foot White Duck canvas bell tent (fits up to 4) • Private entrance camp parking • Outdoor camp kitchen • Charcoal grill; Camp Chef stove (bring your own propane and charcoal) • Table with log stools (bring your own camp chairs if desired) • Hammocks • Solar lighting • Pellet stove (pellets included) • Private hiking trails • Private porta potty • Lake views overlooking Black Lake The tent is currently unfurnished. Guests should bring all bedding, sleeping pads, air mattresses, or cots needed for their stay, along with any other camping gear desired. Think of it as elevated camping with a few extra comforts and plenty of space to relax and enjoy the outdoors. A private porta potty is provided. We're also continuing to improve the retreat and plan to add a permanent bathhouse with a flushing toilet and shower in the future. **Please Note** The Terrace sits on a hillside overlooking Black Lake and includes some steep terrain near portions of the site. Because of this, we recommend the site for adults and older children who can safely navigate uneven ground. The site may not be suitable for young children. Future Improvements: Bathhouse with flush toilet and shower, expanded camp kitchen, and additional water infrastructure.
