Beaver Bay was a very well thought out camp spot - great views and we were impressed at how everything was set up along with the amenities provided (clean toilet, chairs, firepit, kayaks, etc.). I had mixed feelings about it because of the limited privacy we felt. I knew from other reviews that this spot is right off the road but I thought the actual site was set back enough to give some privacy and that wasn't the case. There were a lot of trucks passing by throughout the day, it quieted down at night but started back up early in the morning and every car that passes by can see right into the entire site. From the pictures you can see houses across the bay but you also have houses directly next to and across the street from the site so just know before you go the limited privacy if that's what you're looking for. We also have an active dog so if you're looking to have your dogs off leash to roam around this might not be the best spot as you're having to constantly make sure they're not going near the road. If there were a gate that you could close once you're at camp that would have helped a ton but I realize that may not be possible given the way the driveway is set up. Again, it was a cool spot but just not for us.

Great spot for a family trip

Beaver Bay was such a beautiful and fun place for a weekend camping trip with the fam. Kids and our dog had plenty of space to play and explore, and the kayaks were a great addition so we all had the opportunity to paddle on the lake. The water a ways out from the dock is pretty deep which was so refreshing for a quick swim! There was more than enough space for our trailer, two tents, and three cars. The extra table made a nice camp kitchen area. There are a few neighbors nearby, which was no problem especially with the privacy fencing and trees, we were more than able to relax and enjoy the outdoors peacefully. At night, you can hear train horns as they pass through nearby, which didn’t bother us but if you’re sensitive to that you might consider ear plugs if you’re tent camping. Thanks for sharing this spot with us, we hope to visit again soon!

We had such a great time at this spot. Unfortunately the smoke is bad right now but we still managed to enjoy ourselves. The view is incredible, super clean port-a-potty and everything was very clearly laid out for us to effectively utilize the site. We are definitely coming back again! Not buggy this time of year except for some yellow jackets.

The whole set up was very cool. The kayaks were great to use and we kayaked around the lake. The campfire setup was nice too with the lights. We turned off the lights later to watch a meteor shower.
We unfortunately had a very bad odor that wafted through the campsite. The outdoor toliet was flushing with brown stinky water. We contacted the host and he told us it was malfunctioning and recommended that we use the porta potty that was down one level. That porta potty was getting dangerously full.

My husband, our 4 year old son, and myself tent camped at Stephen’s place for one night before a trip to Silverwood. We loved the included kayaks and thoughtful outdoor furniture throughout the campsite.
Our only “complaint” would be the bathrooms— the permanent one didn’t seem to be working properly, and the port-a-potty desperately needed to be serviced!
We know that it’s a rarity to find a campground with clean, nice smelling toilets, though, so it didn’t affect our stay all that much.
It felt private, even though it’s right next to a well-traveled road, and it was pretty quiet at night— nothing but crickets!
We had a great night camping here and recommend it.

It was awesome as usual. This is our 3rd year in a row staying there, and we shared it with a few friends this time! Communication is fantastic. Everything was wonderful! Best part is the scenery and the kayaking to boot!

What I didn’t like was the barking dogs across the street, seems like they never stop barking.
Also I think they need to take better care of the bathroom facilities. I might of hit it at a bad time because last time I was there the bathroom was great! Over all it was great enjoyed kayaking on this beautiful peaceful lake.

This site looked great in the listing, but was not what we were looking for. As two females traveling together sleeping in a truck tent, we did not feel safe staying here, and actually ended up getting a hotel instead. This is basically an empty lot in a rural neighborhood of trailers, mobile homes and run down houses. There were men parked next to the lot who were fishing. There was no cell service, and we were unarmed as we had been traveling in Canada. If you are male, traveling with a male or have a locking door - you may feel more comfortable here.

Absolutely Amazing HipCamp! Loved all the extras Beaver Bay has to offer! AND the view!!!!!! No cell service, just nature, kayaking, and quality time with family. The kids ran wild (in the best way), we paddled until sunset, and the world felt quieter in all the right ways.

This is place is so quaint. It’s clean and quiet and just a very lovely experience. The kayaks are in great condition and you have your options of sit on top or sit in. Directions to get there and how to use everything are very easy and direct. The lake is beautiful and wasn’t too busy while we were there. The host is very communicative . I would highly suggest this beautiful camp spot, we will definitely be back.

What a sweet setup! The site is very tidy and clean! Lights, toilet, tiki bar….we barely had to unpack anything from our van! We even saw a beaver during our stay! ❤️🦫

We pulled into the site and were blown away. Very cute setup. Loved the tiki bar! Lots of space. Enjoyed coffee on the lower deck in the mornings as we watched wildlife. Kayaked the lake in the afternoon. Can't recommend enough!

We got out of our vehicle and were immediately impressed with Beaver Bay! The site is HUGE with the main area being the biggest and then , if you're looking at the lake, there's a lower level to the left. A small tent could likely be set up there and it would be amazing. To the right is a large deck area a little lower than the main area and then further down is the dock. So four levels! Nice clean outhouse and tiki bar with lights were great. And the main highlight was the kayaks! We loved exploring the lake on the kayaks and there's no motorized boats on the lake so it was so nice and peaceful. Down the road is a boat launch type of area and a dock. It worked great for us, we kayaked over to it and spent a couple hours playing there and it was great (kids 10, 9 and 6), not really a beach, but still a great area. And it was fine, but we were a little surprised to find that the campsite is in a residential area. Permanent residences or seasonal... maybe a bit of both, we're not sure. But it felt just a little weird camping amongst residences. Not enough to make me not recommend it and the traffic slowed down completely around 8:30/9:00ish so it was totally quiet other than the occasional train, but just something to know before you go. Nice and close to stores if you need anything.

We loved this place. It was perfect for our 20ft trailer. Absolutely beautiful. Partially shaded decks to hang out on. A tiki bar. We loved the lights. And to have power for our AC in July was a plus. We enjoyed using the kayaks provided on this beautiful little lake. And Stephen's quick responses to questions were very much appreciated.

Had a great stay in Beaver Bay, even though it rained quite a lot. Had a small miscommunication before arrival but Stephen was quick to reply and provide a solution. It was uncharacteristically chilly during our visit so there were no bugs at all, but I could see that changing in warmer temps.

Absolutely a small slice of heaven. Very clean and the bathroom was better than I expected. Actually quiet (except running trains- ear plugs worked). We saw so many deer and beautiful birds. I would recommend your own chairs for around the fire :) We
