This is a breathtaking space that our family has poured many decades and multiple generations into. We are surrounded by jungle, with a freshwater stream running through the entire property and unobstructed mountain views. If you’re especially sensitive to mosquitos, bugs, geckos, free roaming chickens or other elements to be expected in nature, this might not be the place for you. Waimanalo is a small agricultural town filled with nurseries, horse stables, and a high concentration of Hawaiian homes. It remains mostly undeveloped and authentic, and we aim to keep it that way. Outsiders do not often get the opportunity to stay back here, but we welcome respectful travelers looking for an authentic experience who can appreciate this privilege. While nestled against the mountains, we're just a five minute drive from the beach. We are fifteen minutes from Kailua town, where you'll find several grocery stores, shops, and restaurants. This is a working farm. While we are very hospitable, we are not in the business of hospitality. I am happy to accommodate travelers, but I am not here at your beck and call. If that is the experience you are seeking, I think you would be happier elsewhere. We appreciate all of your bookings, and profits go directly back into farm infrastructure and new fruit trees. Tucked away on our family farm in the backroads of Waimanalo, this private wall tent is situated where we once housed horses, looking out onto the orchards, freshwater stream, and mountains. The area is entirely your own, with a private bathroom and covered lanai. The tent is tastefully styled with a very comfortable queen sized bed, reading chair, full electricity and wifi. A single cot can be set up for additional guests. The lanai has a picnic table overlooking the fields and Olamana mountain peaks. There is a single burner campstove with hot water kettle so that you can brew morning coffee and tea, and a mini fridge for cold goods and perishables. The private bathroom is just behind the tent and has a sink, hot shower, and flush toilet.

Tucked away on our family farm, this tent is situated under the covers of our old barn looking down into a banana patch and freshwater stream. This tent and area was recently renovated, with a larger tent, very comfortable queen sized bed, and a chair that folds out into a single futon. Alongside the tent is a private seating area with picnic table, propane cooktop, cooler, sink, and basic cookware and utensils. The barn bathroom with hot shower and flush toilet is just a stones throw away. Wifi signal is strong and the tent has electricity. This tent and lounge area is shielded by a cedar privacy fence, but the bathroom is shared with two farmhands. Host was so kind, very responsive, and even upgraded us to the glamp tent one night since we were arriving late during bad weather. Hammock camping is very doable - lots of big palms to pitch under. Bathroom/shower is clean and just as pictured. Site is quiet and secluded but we felt totally safe. Bring bug spray!

We really liked our stay at Waimanalo Farmstay! Being so close to nature was a huge highlight for us. The views right after opening the tent in the morning were breathtaking and the mountains in the background left a lasting impression every single day. You definitely don't need to set an alarm clock because the roosters will wake you up early in the morning, but it's part of the experience and you quickly get used to it. We would definitely stay here again!

Great place with everything we needed - quiet and safe area to camp, with a bathroom and hot shower. The property is stunning, and the pdf that Lex shares is very thoughtful and made me reflect on a lot of things about Hawaii. I wish I could have met her :)

Amazing Stay!!!
Orchard Wall Tent
We had an amazing 3 night stay in the private tent with its own bathroom. Hot water, wifi and a cook top made the stay extremely comfortable. There are a few cooking utensils but not much. The hosts were very communicative when we reached out however we didn’t need to contact them . Very private, quiet and peaceful! We want to stay for longer next trip!!

stayed in a tent site. There are four spots all in the same area, kind of like a square parking lot. You basically get a corner. It was fine for us , but if your expecting some remote lush Hawaiian site - this is not it. It's extreme utility. Clean flushing toilet, shower and zero contact with host. Directions in guide were great, and honestly it was exactly what we needed. Location is really quite good for food and beaches. Just a place to pitch tent that was safe, and no fines. Really appreciate them offering up the land for use, because Oahu is not a cheap place to visit. The island needs more of these spots. Thank you Dave and Lex!

While the sunrise over the Koolau Range was gorgeous, the vegetation lush, and the atmosphere delightfully quiet, the experience was dampened by strict and misleading rules. Despite being named a "farmstay," you are strictly confined to designated camping area with no wandering allowed, and the ground is so brutally hard you’ll need a hammer for your tent stakes—even with a plush, off-limits lawn right next to it. Furthering, there is only one combined shower and toilet for five sites (potentially 10+ people). No toilet access if someone takes a longer shower. I was a bit disappointed by the lack of farm hospitality or fruit tasting - the bananas are just rotting away next to the campground.

Gorgeous setting, just be aware that the tops of the mountains are often clouded. The shower was very nice and the campsites are clear and flat. Nice sheltered area and functional sink for washing right next to the sites. Getting there can be a little tricky, make sure to sort this out ahead of time. The guide Lex and Dave send you is really helpful. They were great hosts.

The Orchard wall tent was perfect. I stayed for a week and had everything I needed. The bed was very comfortable, the tent kept bugs out and was well ventilated with a fan and window openings. The farm was very peaceful and located very near to great food and beaches. Waimanalo is a very special place. Thank you for sharing.

Place was clean and just as described in the listing. They have a great guide included that was emailed to me when my booking was confirmed, also the detailed directions provided were spot on! They allowed pets, so we were able to take our fur babies with us. Love the HOT shower and real flushing toilets. Also loved the scent of the laundry detergent on the sheets and towels

Super comfy bed and very hot, peaceful outdoor shower. Do not forget bug spray. More communal than private; good for people who don't like to be alone. The host fixed a couple small issues super fast and was more than accamodating.

The views at this farm stay were spectacular. The farm is beautiful and well maintained. Clearly, this property is cared for with great respect and attention to detail. During my stay, a resident picked fresh mint for me and shared information about what is grown on the property. There is also a knowledgeable caretaker who may stop by to chat about the herbs, farm, and local plants and you might even leave with a few bananas. The amenities were clean and comfortable, including a flush toilet, warm shower, sink with running water, and Wi-Fi. One unique feature was being able to enjoy the beautiful views while showering outdoors in a private setting. I stayed in my truck bed tent and found the property exceptionally quiet, peaceful, and relaxing. Overall, it was a wonderful farm stay with stunning scenery and welcoming people whom have a heart for the land.

Infrastructure is pretty well established, there are a few HipCamp sites and a program area for larger groups. We could hear some music/audio from the program area but nothing obtrusive while we were trying to sleep. Pretty great views! Compost toilet between site 2 and 3.

Lex and Dave’s farm is a little heaven.. so beautiful. View are breathtaking.We car camped here last night and had a good time.Having a hot shower and WiFi is so convenient. Lex and Dave provided a very detailed instruction on check in and navigation to the site.
