The land was beautiful and all of the features of the campsite was very nice. The self check in guide was great and included a lot of useful information about Hawaii and Waimanalo.

The land is absolutely beautiful! There are indeed feral chickens, cats, pigs, and many other animals wandering the grounds. None of them bothered me throughout my stay. The roosters make a great natural alarm clock, if you wish to wake at sunrise.
Directions to the farm are easy to follow and I had enough cell service to reference the directions online on my first night, but it’s still a good idea to review them before arrival.
The scenery is breathtaking and Lex recommended some great local activities and beaches to visit. This farm is about a 30 minute drive from the downtown Honolulu area, but the drive is very scenic and traffic usually isn’t bad.
The camping space is as described. I had several nights alone, but there were others camping on the farm for a few nights too. No one was in my area and everyone was friendly and respectful.
The shower had hot water and the toilet is fine. There was one night where there were many bugs in the bathroom, but after that one night I did not have anymore issues. Keep in mind you are camping, so bugs are ever present, and sometimes it can feel hot when there is not a breeze.
I definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a scenic and safe campground. The WiFi was a nice feature and having potable water at the campgrounds was very convenient.

Stayed at the Bananna Patch and it was super cool, relaxing and perfect for me. Roosters start crowing early in the morning around 4-5ish, occasional cow noises, pigs are running around at any time of day and tons of tropical birds were always chirping, I LOVED IT!! I came to Fly fish around the island and the early morning wake ups were great to get me moving.
Bathroom is about 100 ft from the tent and is shared with a resident but it really was not an issue one bit. Shower was a bit small for me as I'm 6'5" but it worked great and did the job. There is a stove, wash basin, trash can, and Coleman cooler at the site that is not to be taken off property. It would be nice to have a beat-up old cooler that could be taken off site for drinks and lunch.
Here is the deal. This place is tucked away. You need to bring your food, ice and supplies. I did coffee and to-go breakfast at the Kalapawai Cafe, Lunch at a local place around where I was fishing for the day and grabbed dinner and Ice to bring back to the camp spot. Local food, local businesses.
Tips:
#1-Show respect to the land and people. Clean up after yourself. No loud music. Lights out around 9pm. Give the residents of the farm privacy. Don't speed in the neighborhoods. Live Pono Brah!!
#2 Keep your tent zipped. Bugs and lizards are around. A few mosquitos but that was mostly at dusk that I got a few bites.
#3 Mini Portable fan. Helps move some air in the tent. I got one on Amazon for like $20, quiet & runs on battery.

We loved our night at this beautiful farm! The toilet and shower block were amazing and the water was as hot as you wanted it. The kitchen sink for washing up was very handy and the hang out area was welcoming and comfortable. WiFi was available.

Loved this place. You are tucked back into the hillside with an up-close view of the mountains. It is far off the main roads, all you hear are birds. This place is literally carved into the jungle so you are surrounded by trees and vegetation. The property is expansive and well manicured. My friends thought I was camping on a fairway at a golf course. The toilet and shower are very clean. At 5am a melody of roosters and birds ring out as far as you can hear. It was amazing. Barely any bugs (in May). Very quiet.

This was our second time booking a stay at Lex’s farm with the camper van we rented to explore Oahu. We loved it so much that we came back. It’s very spacious and comfortable. We loved the early check in (12:00pm) that allowed us to get in early in the day, take showers, and prepare for afternoon plans. The farm is beautiful. I love the shower setup with the river rocks. It feels wonderful to shower outdoors, but still have access to hot water and privacy. The only downside that I can think of is that there is only one shower, toilet, and sink that are all located together inside one stall. I can imagine this could be an issue if there are several campers needing to use facilities at the same time. The first time we stayed on Lex’s farm there were 4 other Camper-Vans out there along with us, but it wasn’t an issue. Everyone arrived at different times and used facilities at different times.
Lex’s farm is absolutely beautiful! I loved waking up to the Mountain views and the sounds of the birds.

We loved staying here! The tent and setup was perfect for a couple and a 6 year old, and our son loved all the animals running around. Lex was super communicative and the entire property had such a homey vibe. And the views were absolutely incredible. Highly recommend!!

Spent 1 night on Lex’s land and I would definitely return. Set up was great and bathrooms were clean. There was hot water and lights in the bathroom for at night. The small lights around the campground were nice and made the space easier to find when arriving at night. I stayed in a camper van and there were quite a few other vans that pulled in after me that night, but everything was quiet and we slept great. We felt safe and comfortable. We loved the shower setup. I highly recommended Lex’s farm! The Mountain View in the background is just amazing. Truly special.

Beautiful relaxing spot with useful amenities! Came here with the fam and our dog for a quick getaway outdoors. Everything you would need to be comfortable is provided for. I’d note that if you have social pets there are friendly roaming dogs that may hangout around the tent area.

This spot was so perfect and magical. The tent is very comfortable and the land and views were incredible. We stayed here in the Orchard Wall tent our whole time on the island based on other reviews and would definitely do it again. There was everything we needed to cook and make coffee. The mini fridge was very convenient. The bathroom is very new and clean and comfortable, with hot showers. Super enjoyable showering with birds of paradise above. Waimānalo beach only 5 minutes away is the locals beach and really gorgeous. Kailua town is only 15 minutes drive away with every convenience you could ever ask for and a lot of good food and white sand beaches. We were really happy our money could go to support a family farm instead of a big hotel chain. This spot gives a view into Oahu that you won’t get from Waikiki or even staying in Kailua. Great view, serene environment. Quiet and peaceful. Clean bathroom, bed, and shower. We loved it.
The only downside was the sound of music coming from distance but can still be heard which continued until midnight. I must also add the smell of marijuana which we were not able to figure out from where it is coming.
Despite these shortcomings we would definitely go back.

Rustic and private place to stay. Very clean. The bathroom and shower was great...just a quick step out of the tent.
The covered patio was also excellent when a few rain showers came through. Roosters are loud early in the morning...but welcome to Hawaii, they are everywhere!

The view is amazing and the weather was perfect. We went in the spring. I loved the privacy we had. I loved taking a hot shower everyday. The only thing i would complain about is the neighbors behind made so much noise at random hours throughout the night. Like a generator and it sounded like they were fixing a truck. I also saw someone walking with a flashlight in the trees behind us. I still felt pretty safe other than that. Also, if you want to camp in Hawaii be prepared for loud chickens. We can deal with it but not everyone can. I would come here with my family again.
