The electric church is an amazing place to explore big island! The best price value you can get on the island. Clean and perfectly located close to Hilo! Would definitely recommend staying there :-)

The cabin was great!! It had everything we needed, including hot shower, real toilet, gas stove and fridge. It was super cozy and well laid out, with a sofa and a double bed. I would definitely go back. Great value for money.

So rad! Exactly what we were looking for. Down to earth owners with amazing dogs and the perfect place to relax after exploring the local area. This little home has everything you could need. Thanks Juanita. Why is it called, The Electric Church… well, you’ll just have to ask the owners. It’s a great story. We LOVED our stay. Also, the jungle sounds were amazing.

We had an amazing time exploring the Big Island from the electric church! It had absolutely all the amenities we needed, its really more of a tiny house than a cabin since it has a kitchen and a full bathroom. The kitchen had a very nice propane burner and fridge/freezer. Taking a hot shower while looking into the rainforest was great! At night the sound of rain and frogs was way better than any whitenoise machine money can buy. Thanks Juanita!

This property was charming and relaxing, and conveniently situated about 25 minutes outside of Hilo. We fell asleep each night to the sound of frogs and rainfall. Everything felt tucked away and private in a little slice of tropical rainforest. We made use of the snorkeling gear available, hung our clothes on the line, and loved seeing the orchids in the yard. Juanita was a lovely host and her two dogs Clyde and Frida will be sure to greet you. Would absolutely visit again.

The Electric Church was a great place for a basecamp to adventure in the Pahoa area. The place was surounded by rainforest and we had a chorus of frogs as we went to bed and birds to awaken us.
There was ample supplies for local beaches and to cook a meal. We did some hiking in the humid rainfrests and found the private shower was a plus after our hikes.

We loved our 4 nights here! The cabin itself is very cozy and had everything we needed for our stay, the property was easy to access and Juanita was very quick to respond to any questions (including when we locked ourselves out :)) and the sounds of the forest at night are surreal! If we are ever on the Big Island again, we would definitely stay here again.

Cute little spot. A nice step up from camping with a real toilet and hot shower. The basic kitchen set up, small fridge and coffee maker were great to have after living out of a cooler the rest of our trip. We are big time dog lovers so having Clyde and Frieda (dogs shown in the pic on the listing) come visit us in the morning made our day. I'd definitely stay here again as it is very central to visiting all the things the East side of the Big Island has to offer.
