WINNER of 2024 Hipcamp Runner-Up for Best in Hawaii! *Update 1/1/25 We are renovated! Warning! This is a Hipcamp not a resort lol. If you love tranquility and nature this might be the spot for you! It is an open air establishment complete with lizards and yes, some bugs and even a few mosquitoes. We have new mosquito nets up and bathroom now has a cool bamboo door for privacy. Because it is open air please do not expect it to be sterile. Mahalo! 🌺 I bought this land 14 years ago and have slowly been hand clearing and building fancy forts ever since. Off-grid with solar power, propane hot water heater and delicious running spring water. Nurturing space for healing and communing with nature. 🌱

Treehouse bedroom!

Treehouse · Sleeps 2 · 1 bedroom · 1 bed · 1 toilet
NEW addition!! This is my favorite place to sleep on the property especially when it's a full moon and the surrounding trees are all shimmery silver! Private treehouse bedroom on the back of the property with two open walls, a comfy queen-sized bed with mosquito net, small dresser and closet for hanging clothes. This room has a sliver of an ocean view and is accessible by a wooden ladder with six rungs. Extended eaves give you all the necessary protection from any sudden rainstorms so you'll stay cozy and dry. You'll still enjoy all the full amenities of the main house like the full-sized kitchen and outdoor bathroom.

We had a great stay! After a warm welcome from Wendy and her cats, we were given a tour of the property which included multiple fruit trees (ripe and ready to pick for our breakfast)! The treehouse is a little further back on the property than the main house, which felt private but not isolated from where Wendy lives, should any problems had come up. We only experienced one night of rain and stayed dry the whole time. That being said, this is a true treehouse, so expect to encounter nature in all forms (temperature, weather, insects, etc). Wendy was a very gracious host and was more than happy to help with anything we needed.

Just like last time I enjoyed my stay here very much: secluded, quiet and everything you need on the site! Fresh eggs every day, Papayas to harvest and nice cats that welcome you!

    Doesn't recommend

I appreciate Wendy and her vision with the tree house. I loved the fresh breeze, the moon, and even the gecko. It is not currently under great management onsite and the conditions were unsanitary and unacceptable. We drove up the challenging road in the dark to arrive in a turnaround with no lights or signs of life. After a bit, a couple of very friendly guys did come out and asked if we were lost. We asked if they knew of a campground and they said they were actually filling in for the host while he was out getting groceries. Things were in disrepair and pretty filthy. The sheets had obviously been slept in and the toilet had stuff smeared on the seat. There were quite a few people who ended up wandering along through the night and crashing in different areas. Wendy was great to work with when we expressed that this was unacceptable, but I would not recommend anyone staying until management is figured out.
