Beautiful spot. I’m so happy to have started my journey here! The property is lovely and the temperature was so appreciated (other stay was just 10 minutes away right on Wainaku street above Hilo town and it was hot!). Being next to a running stream is priceless with your own private cabin and porch for beautiful morning meditations or snacks while watching the birds in the strawberry guava trees, listening to the stream soundscape. Had my best sleep the first day with stream sounds and coqui frogs.
I was so lucky to be the only guest at the time to just zone out in my space. Also jumping in the stream was really refreshing!
Shared space is greatly appreciated with a full stock kitchen, fridge/freezer to use, yoga area and two bathrooms with showers.
Cabin includes wonderful plush white towels, pillows and bed linens. There is a main bed and a loft bed on the top! Great storage space for belongings and windows bring in the nice air. Might want to bring an extra head lamp or light as there is only one camp light hanging on the wall. Star watching is a must!
Note that it is about an 18 min drive from the main road on curvy small country road so I wouldn’t recommend to drive at night if not well versed in driving these streets. Also don’t be afraid of the large looking puddle on the gravel road as you enter, it is possible to cross just looks quite big after it rains. Would not recommend having a sedan or low vehicle. SUV size at least is a must in my opinion.

Great location for peace and quiet.
This is a great little spot. The small cabins are comfortable and well built. I was a big fan of the location, it's secluded and quiet, all you can hear at night is the river and the frogs. The community building is well appointed and didn't leave us longing for anything.

Tent camping was a treat up here. Stars were bright and beautiful, quiet space, and Maggie was a treat! Be aware this is a little bit of a drive up the hill, but it provided lots of privacy.

There are blankets, towles and shampoo bars provided. There is a check out time. There is a small electric fence surrounding the property at night (if you arrive late you may need to move it to drive in--its low voltage but be careful). The GPS for the address is not accurate so look at Google satalite view to find a driveway that matches their description and compare it to where your map is sending you. Once I did this it was easy to find.

Glamping in Hawaii
It was a beautiful place to stay. They have had some dry weather, so the waterfall wasn't much more than a trickle, but the place was still great. No electricity in the cabin itself, so bring a flashlight, but there is electricity at the waterfall house (also on the property) to charge your phone/camera/etc. Axel was nice, and so was the gal working for him. Very pleasant to talk to! Overall, a great place to stay!

Quiet little place on a farm with minimalistic cabins and a common area. Beautiful landscape with an opportunity to take a swim in the small lake with a waterfall. Would recommend if this is your cup of tea.

Waterfall by moonlight
Cabins are beautifully constructed and overlook the stream. Fall asleep at night to the sound of rushing water. Wonderful meeting Axel and his helpers, they have such passion for the property and soon to be carbon busting forest. Swimming in the waterfall by moonlight is the highlight of our trip

It is a wet climate, so it wouldn't have been comfortable to sit outside our tent at night. The nice community center was a comfortable place to hang out and have dinner and read in the evenings. It felt more like glamping than camping, which I'm not complaining about!

Nice grounds, beautiful waterfall
Lovely property and Axel is really friendly! Climate is beautiful up there. As far as camping, you set up tent in a pretty open field, and in the morning (maybe ~8-9am) work starts nearby, just be aware it's not a very private or nature-embedded spot to pitch the tent. Community space w/ wifi was lovely, waterfall was beautiful & felt sacred and happy. At the time of my stay, kitchen wasn't quite as equipped as we'd hoped but it was functional!

Nice quiet spot away from Hilo a bit but not a trek to the middle of nowhere. Waterfall is BRISK but refreshing. The community center is nice if you are into amenities while you’re camping too

Beautiful place, terrible service!
The lay of the land was beautiful in the private files where impressive! We felt like we were inconvenience to our host Axel because they were in the middle of converting their place to an Airbnb instead of hip camp and we were in the way, kitchen was dirty and our cabin had ants in it which bit me in the night! I wanted them to know so that other people didn’t experience the same thing and he seemed very defensive! I think it Will probably be I better stay for people when they are done converting and cleaning!

Peaceful stream side cabin
What an amazing spot! Lovely wood cabin by the stream, just a stone's throw from the community center with a full kitchen, fridge, bathroom, electricity and hot shower. I loved the simple, clean cabin. It is surrounded by magical ferns and the sound of water flowing... super peaceful. Very kind and helpful hosts who set you up to be self sufficient.
