Okay so I said "Maybe" for the recommendation because of a couple of reasons. If you are looking to really get out into nature, find somewhere where you won't be bothered by signs of other people, or have a traditional camping experience this is honestly not the site I would recommend. BUT if you're looking for a dark and safe place to park your car for the night, away from traffic, loud people, city lights, and the general chaos of living in town? Yes, this is totally a good site to consider. I knew going into this that this isn't a traditional camping site, it really is just a safe place to park your car and access to a clean portable toilet. It's also SUPER dark at night, making it an ideal spot for stargazing. I camped here to watch the peak of the Perseid meteor shower, and the views were INCREDIBLE. Was the host responsive? Not very, but honestly I didn't need them to be. So in terms of a townie just looking to get out for the night and see some stars, this place was perfect. Ultimately, like so many things in life: It's Complicated. Ask yourself why youre camping and what you need/want out of your experience before booking and you'll be just fine. Mahalo nui loa!

Farm Car/Van Camping - No Tents
The surrounding farm for this site was pretty neat; guava and dragon fruit grow nearby. The Mountain View’s are beautiful. I love how this site is way back off the highway.
The neighbors small dog that barked incessantly from 2:00-5:00 a.m. was REALLY unpleasant. He is chained to a dog house outside, so It appears this might be the ‘norm.’ Due to this I wouldn’t recommend the site.

This Camping Spot is not worth the money! It is just a Carpark in the middle of nowhere with a portappotty. There is no light and you are the only one out there. Its quite loud because everywhere are dogs barking and even a big dog showed up in front of our car!

Very quiet car-camping spot! Host is very communicative and available to assist (via text). Do not recommend for regular/low cars as the road to the locations has several large potholes to navigate so an SUV/truck is recommended.

This spot was extremely dirty. There was trash, toilet paper, and was hard to fine. The communication with the host was very poor. Not recommended.

Kripa’s Fruit Farm was a wonderful escape from the city and encourages a rustic outdoor experience that many people may not have been able to get in touch previously with unless you’re a true farmer/outdoor experience chaser!
The road to get in was freshly rained on and would be a blast in a Jeep or other high clearance truck (still please drive slow as to not disturb neighbors, hit farm animals or even the natural fauna) There was a little tension on our drive in with the combined issue of driving a family style van, as well as it being late/dark but once finding our spot it was smooth sailing for the rest of our stay!
A bit of advice on directions to get into the car camping spot; when you drive in there is a driveway immediately next to a dwelling that is not the driveway that leads you to the car camping spot, it’s actually the second driveway/road that passes two dwellings on your right before you follow the road in a J shape to the left and the car camping spot is directly left from the orange porta-potty.
As I said earlier, it is a true outdoorsy experience, you’ll be pleased to have a porta potty to use the bathroom in, but don’t expect any soap or hand sanitizer please bring your own. As Kripa states bring all your own water that you’ll need. Expect there to be bugs, geckos very sticky mud, adorable loose dogs and chickens who will serve as your alarm clock. This location is about 45 minute drive from HNL, and is surrounded by beaches and horse polo grounds ❤️

We stayed here for one night. The dirt roads in were muddy from recent heavy rain, but we didn’t have any issues navigating in our van. The space is a bit tight, but suited our needs of a safe place to overnight. I’d suggest earplugs if you want to sleep in, as a neighbor’s dog started barking incessantly at 7am.

Interesting spot on a dragon fruit farm! Lots of birds and fresh fruit growing around you. I recommend showing up before sunset. There are two very specific turns. The right off the highway has a slow sign. Make sure to put in these coordinates into Google maps. 1st right turn. Look for a slow down sign

Farm Car/Van Camping - No Tents
We enjoyed having a safe and relatively secluded parking spot for our camper van on Kripa’s farm. The site is exactly as described - not fancy, and on a functional farm with dogs and cats and chickens. Kripa’s directions were excellent and we would stay there again!
