Pondside Tiny Cabin Retreat
Perfect Low-Key Camping
My husband, daughter and I had a wonderful time here this weekend! The campsite was perfect. The shelter even has a locking door if you wish to lock it and check out the local sites. We went to the Country Fair that was a mile down the road, and it was perfect. The pond is full of big fish, but bring some live bait. Our 7-year-old daughter had a blast catching guppies and frogs in the evening. The walking trail around the lake was perfect for a different fishing spot. We always bring everything, and we were still able to borrow something from Carol and Ricky with just a text. They have more than helpful touches around the site, and the solar lighting is the perfect ambiance. The park style grill was really nice to have and made my job a lot easier! We were even given a quick tour of the property by Carol and Ricky on their 4-wheelers. This is a wonderful site, especially for those with kids and pets. Steps away from your parking to the pond and to your bed. The road is somewhat nearby, but even on a “busy” weekend there, we didn’t find it bothersome at all. We loved our stay. Thank you for having us!

Pondside Tiny Cabin Retreat
What a wonderful place. Nicely located in the woods right next to a pond. The cabin is brand new and the whole site is very well organized. We arrived late, but the host actually helped us to start a fire, met and great us and made sure we had everything.

Pondside Tiny Cabin Retreat
We loved the tiny cabin pondside retreat. The cabin was perfect for us and our 2 small dogs. It was a hot weekend but the fans kept us nice and cool at night. The 2 picnic tables gave us plenty of room to set out kitchen up and left the other table free for eating and games. We played 4 games of all terrain croquette that was a blast. We set up a dog run between 2 trees for our pups and they loved it. We could have let them off leash but our pups do not know how to stay close, see a squirrel and gone. The fire pit was amazing as were the solar light that came on at dark. The ones in the tiny cabin set the ambiance for relaxing and rejuvenating. The sounds from the pond were awesome as well. And the fans at night were just enough to lull you to sleep. We enjoyed talking with Ricky and he was very helpful. We would give it a 5 star rating and will definitely go back. PS we are not into fishing but I wish I was because it was the perfect spot if you wanted to drown a worm.

Will stay again!
Absolutely loved the trip. The Cabin with the screening made you feel like you were sleeping outside but still very much protected from the elements. The pond is full of wildlife, i.e. turtles and frogs, which we always love to see. The trails close by we’re easy to walk and full of delicious black berries, but make sure you wear tick repellent or long pants. It was just very relaxing. We cooked at the site but also there’s plenty of places to eat out close by. Also, we did still have cell signal if that’s important to you. I ended up needing to work for a bit so I very much appreciated being able to do so from the cabin.

Pondside Tiny Cabin Retreat
Highly Recommend
Carol is an amazing host. The Tiny Cabin is the only one there, so isn't anyone around to disturb you. The pond is great for canoeing and fishing. The only negative I have is that it's close to a busy highway so there is quite a bit of traffic noise. Even with that, it's a very nice place to stay. Oh! And I didn't see one mosquito!!

Perfect and Relaxing Tiny Cabin
So relaxing! I had a wonderful weekend stay at the Smith's tiny cabin and pond-side campsite with my pup Max. The Smiths were the most welcoming and hospitable hosts you could ask for! They greeted us upon arrival and showed us the site, they even gave us a tour of the walking trail on their ATV so we could get a lay of the land. The site was clean and stocked with warm water, soap and hand towels as well as a stack of firewood that more than lasted us for the weekend. There is a perfect spot nearby for a hammock which was perfect for an afternoon nap. We were able to explore the walking trails on the land and later went down to the historic Prater Mill which is perfect for a stroll, picnic, fishing or a little tourist stop! The cabin itself was the perfect size for us and the Smiths thought of everything for our comfort -- they had privacy curtains, a couple of much appreciated fans, and even a phone charger! And I will note, they had the cleanest port-o-potty I've ever been in. Overall, a perfect spot for a little retreat! We'll definitely be back again :)
