This land was my grandmother's and father's. He built her home and she deeded it to me in 2014 while I was in college at Georgia Southern. Since permanently move here I've tried really hard to bring out the natural beauty I saw in this place as a child growing up here. Being gone so long really makes me appreciate it and I'd love to share it with anyone who could as well.
The Spring is my favorite, late March and early April when the dogwoods and azaleas are blooming well. It's got nice cool chilly morning's perfect for coffee or tea on the fire. In the Winter it's usually wet, but when it isn't everything is so crisp and quiet. I love wandering into the woods and just leaning up against a tree and listening to the silence. During the summer I can't stay out of the river. Fall of course in any country place is going to be beautiful with the colors changing. I like that we have plenty of evergreens to balance it out.
We don't have any artificial light out here like street lamps and big towns so the moon can really blind you sometimes. You'll even get a shadow on full moons when the sky is clear. The woods during a full moon is really phenomenal. If you have small dogs, watch for owls.
