We had such a wonderful stay at the Palomino site on The Open Road horse farm! The property is gorgeous, well maintained, peaceful, and surrounded by beautiful scenery and friendly horses. It felt like a perfect country escape. Dana, the owner, was incredibly kind and welcoming. She went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and even shared great recommendations for nearby attractions and things to do. We loved every minute of our stay and would absolutely come back again!

Very quiet, peaceful property! It is perfect if you are traveling with dogs! About 20 minutes from downtown Athens. Dana is very kind & accommodating! Also, Cedar Creek Water Reclamation Facility is about 10 minutes away & has free dumping.

Dana’s farm was a peaceful and beautiful escape. I parked by Airstream there during my son’s graduation from UGA. It was very easy to get in and out, to hook up, and visiting with the horses in the barn cats was just a bonus. They have a private area that fenced in for your dogs to play. I would highly recommend her Hipcamp to anyone who is looking for it all!!

Beautiful, serene spot! Reachable easily to Athens, but feels a world apart to stay on a horse farm with a peaceful charm. The hosts are kind and were very accommodating. Super easy to communicate with. I’d absolutely stay here again.

We really enjoyed staying at Dana and Mike's farm. Really beautiful surroundings and a short drive from Athens. My six year old grandson had fun playing with the friendliest cat, and enjoyed the miniature horses. The catfish dinner at Classic City Eats was delicious. We look forward to returning.

Pretty little spot convenient to Watkinsville and Athens. Cute mini horses to pet and see. Super easy and free dump site close by. Nice fire pit and lots of space for our kids to run and explore. Dana is very friendly and had wonderful suggestions for what to do during our stay. We loved nearby Wire Park and Classic City Clydesdales! Great stay and we hope to be back soon!

We enjoyed our spot next to the barn, it had well drained gravel base and very level. Hospitality was very genuine and made you feel very welcomed. Nice and quiet location with interaction with Horses and trainer. Very convenient to all things in the Athens area but still in the country side setting.

Dana's place is beautiful! It is easy to access, quiet, and is conveniently located in Watkinsville, and only 10-15 minutes from Athens. The sunsets here are like no other and the horses are such a fun bonus. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a great 'glamping' experience!
