Perfect spot! Loved everything about this space…the vibe was welcoming and mellow. The cabin was cute as could be…tiny and rustic just as the description says, but amazing all the same! Slept great and the shower was hot and lots of water pressure. The propane grill was a bonus and we cooked a fabulous meal on it! The hosts were super gracious and friendly. I can’t wait to go back and experience it when it’s all complete! Thanks again for fabulous stay!

Excellent place, there is peace and calm. Hammocks and various options to do within the property. Mr J is always there for whatever you may need. Very nice, respectful and kind. I recommend this place 100%

Yay for JB’s! This was my second time tent glamping at his place, and this time the tent was tucked further into the woods, but even closer to where we parked for easy unloading, and just as close to the lovely bathroom. Camping in Pensacola in August is hot! So the shower sure came in handy for rinsing and cooling off. I really appreciated JB being flexible with our late arrival and then slightly late checkout time.

The Zen Den cabin was so fun and cozy! There was landscaping work going on, but as soon as we arrived they very thoughtfully stopped.
Everything was very clean and accommodating, and the shower was amazing! Would recommend!

My husband and I planned this short to Pensacola with budget in mind. We originally booked our one night stay for a tent, but J was kind enough to upgrade us to the cabin at no extra charge!
Personally, I thought we were gonna be one where a little more quiet - but after the sun went down it was much more calm and peaceful.
J was intentional with every single detail and did not miss anything. From snacks to drinks, the ambience, plants, the LABELLING (we LOVE an organized and intentional space). The bed was comfortable and we were so thankful for the fan right next to it! I also really enjoyed the outdoor shower.
We are very excited for everything else he has in store for this location and will absolutely be back if we ever find ourselves on a short trip to Pensacola again. :-)

I enjoyed every second of my time spend at the Zen Den. It’s off the main roads, so it’s peaceful and so relaxing. JB has thought of every little detail. Snacks and beverages were always available. My dog iris fit right in and really enjoyed the three wiener dogs! The shower house is so beautiful and designed perfectly. So great to shower outside with the beautiful privacy of the building. The gardens are beautiful and I could see the love JB has for the zen den. I had the unique opportunity to stay in all three lodging locations while I was there! The tent had literally everything you could need to camp. Even treats for iris. The cabin is a very special place( my favorite). It has a metal roof and constructed to breathe with the moisture,keep bugs out, and provide the most amazing sleep. I mean the best sleep and the best dreams. The fan he had in there kept me and my pup comfortably chilly. That was very welcomed after our 10 hour days at the beaches! The house is just pure luxury and it was nice to watch a little Netflix! . I highly recommend going to ft. Pickens( no dogs ) and going to Langdon beach. Actually all the beaches are great. Dog beach east was our fav. Eat at Cubs Crawfish, and crabs! Navarre beach and Opal are also amazing. I’ll be coming here yearly now. It was exactly what I needed and it definitely refilled my cup! Not only did I have a great trip, I made a friend for life! JB is an amazing person and I’m so grateful to have stayed at the zen den!

The Rustic Zen Cabin was just perfect! With all the essentials and even luxury items, it doesn’t get any better for a camper vibe, but resort experience! The plant-life and awesome Asian details in a peacefully and private setting were enchanting! JB is the best host ever and we will definitely be coming back again and again!❤️

I loved camping at J’s! The grounds are really pretty and zen-like. JB is so nice, he brought me coffee and a danish in the morning. Also allowed me to have a late check out so I can enjoy the beach longer. Would definitely come back and recommend!

ZenDen was the perfect peaceful easy stop on our journey- a little oasis right in town. The neighborhood was a little loud when we arrived at sundown on a Friday night, but after a couple hours the street noise quieted way down and the sounds of crickets and owls lulled us to sleep. The outdoor bathroom was downright fancy, and we gobbled up the treats left for us in our tent. JB went above and beyond when he noticed it was colder than usual out and offered us an extra blanket which made for a super cozy night instead of a kinda chilly one.

The Zen Den was a lovely experience. Located in city limits, it stands out as a chill retreat vibe with beautiful landscaping and furnishings. The owner J went above and beyond to make sure my husband, dog and myself felt welcome and were comfortable. Being avid campers we came armed with all the trappings needed for a camping trip. Honestly we could have showed up with a change of clothes and our pillows and been comfortable at the Zen Den, there were even toothbrushes. With eateries and groceries within minutes drive this makes a great date night get away from the kids. Will definitely visit again.

JB is the host with the most. He works so hard to keep the area nice and clean. He shared a meditation that I really like. Very helpful. The beaches are the best. Fort Perkins was my fave to watch the sunset, but you have to take a picnic out to Persidio Bay AND Opal Beach.

JB is so relaxed and helpful. He made sure I had everything I needed. He even gave me a toasted bagle and fresh juice. It truly is a special place he has created here. I made campfires, talked to neighbors, cooked on the fire. I just booked 2 more nites here!

This was definitely the most unique camping experience I’ve had. The host, J, was extremely nice and made sure to accommodate all needs. I stayed for 2 nights, the first night in one of the tents, which was super cozy. The next night he allowed me to stay in the Airbnb (which was also on property) because the temperature was supposed to drop down, and he didn’t want me to be cold. How thoughtful is that? If you’re going camping, definitely go here. J has literally everything you need: shower & toiletries, bathroom, chairs, fire pit, snacks, etc. And if you don’t want to camp, definitely consider staying in the cabin or Airbnb on J’s property. It was such a nice and peaceful stay, and I will definitely be back the next time I’m in Pensacola!!

I loved tent camping here. The space was beautiful and had nice touches. I enjoyed drinking hot chocolate every morning since I’m not a coffee drinker. He was very accommodating and friendly. Would stay here again especially for a nice warm shower while camping and a full bathroom! Very comfy air mattresses. He was very accommodating when it came to a super last minute booking and we are so greatful!

JB was a really great host, good communication and a lot of nice little attention (best cookies ever!). Everything was so clean, cabin and bathroom and the garden was a nice place to chill. We enjoy our stay and sad to leave earlier because of our flight in Atlanta. And don't be afraid to meet his 3 littles cutes dogs :)

It’s the perfect place to go for a great price & if you want to camp with amenities! It has a super clean and kept up shower/restroom, he offers awesome amenities like a microwave/ toaster & coffee bar in the mornings! He’s so nice and helpful and responds super quick if you need anything. It’s also only 20-25 minutes from Pensacola Beach which was really nice!! Definitely check it out
The only thing I’d recommend is ear plugs because the surrounding neighbors have chickens & roosters and they squawk super loud at roughly 1am- 6:30 am.

First of all let me start by saying from the time you pull up to the property you notice every thoughtful detail. The directions are spot on, the entry way…the initial meet and greet. Once you walk through the entry door you step foot onto nothing less than amazing! I can’t express how serene, accommodating and luxurious of an outdoor camping experience this was. The host J was hospitable when needed, seeing to it that we had anything we needed. We had complete privacy, more than comfortable accommodations. Everything was so clean as if we were his first guests. The extra amenities, the very well thought out bathroom, just everything was fabulous.
The name ZEN DEN is just that! The location is convenient to anything you could want or need to find, it’s private, secure and never once questioned our surroundings.
Living locally and wanting a little escape or outdoor adventure…..this host, J. has it all!

An awesome little nook. Right near everything but tucked away with well thought out Zen layout with all you need for a nights rest and zen-full relaxation with a cup of coffee in the morning. Have to love chickens and be able to overlook an overzealous rooster early in the morning, but adds to the farm-feel of the spot.

John was amazing in EVERY SINGLE WAY 🖤
It was myself and my 3 teenage daughters and I didn’t really know what to expect walking in, but we loved it and iI have no doubt when we come back to visit that he will have already done more updates. It is gated and I felt completely safe there which means a lot. Thanks again John and we can’t wait to visit again!!

This listing after booking was honestly information overload and getting in around 9pm (our own fault) didn’t help.
We only booked this listing because it came up under “pets are allowed” and it wasn’t until, again information overload, that there was ONE line that all of the sudden stated no dogs.
And now, according to our slight back and forth messaging he’s going to change whatever review he left on my profile (which I haven’t read yet, so sounds like it probably wasn’t a pleasant one?).
The photos give off the illusion of some privacy. And the listing even boasts about the one acre property the lodging sits on.
The tents are literally right across from each other.
I’ve used Hipcamp plenty of times and this is the only one I have mixed feelings about.
Cool property, set up is just kind of weird. And personally, I don’t do well with paragraphs upon paragraphs of DOs and DON’Ts, especially when they aren’t given until AFTER booking the listing.

John was a great host even offered me supper! Great zen garden in his yard where I set up my tent. He has a gate and fence in his yard so I felt safe. I will return when I pass thru again.
