Welcome to the Treehouse Cabin Retreat located near the Suwannee River in Old Town, Florida! If you like camping, you will love this getaway. Our unique Treehouse (one queen bed on main floor plus small single bed in the loft) plus Rustic Cabin rental (1 bedroom with 1 queen bed, loft with double bed) brings you back to nature for relaxation and unplugging. Located just minutes from the Suwannee River with wonderful, clear, freshwater springs that are great for paddling and swimming. Just escape and relax among the trees, play outdoor games and have a campfire, or visit nearby springs, parks and rivers. Enjoy an outdoor shower under the stars. Warm up next to the campfire and create new memories. Old Town is a small town, 20 minutes north of Chiefland, 45 minutes northeast of Cedar Key and 45 minutes northwest of Gainesville. We allow a maximum of 7 people and 2 cars. Our retreat is designed to bring peace and simplicity, it’s a place to disconnect and breathe again. It helps us to rejuvenate and reconnect with nature and as a family. We believe everyone needs time away to breathe, that’s why we are sharing our little piece of nature with you. Trade the cell phone for a book on insect ID (there are plenty of bugs, this is the woods!) Relax in the hammock and look at how bright the stars are. Welcome to the Treehouse Cabin Retreat! If you like camping or glamping, you will love this getaway! Our unique Treehouse (sleeps 2-3) plus Rustic Cabin rental (sleeps 4-5) brings you back to nature for relaxation and unplugging. Located just minutes from the Suwannee River with wonderful, clear, freshwater springs that are great for paddling and swimming. Just escape and relax among the trees,  play games, cozy up in the treehouse and watch a movie (we offer a good selection!) or visit nearby springs, parks and rivers. Enjoy an outdoor shower under the stars. Warm up next to the campfire and create new memories. Old Town is a small town, 20 minutes north of Chiefland, 45 minutes northeast of Cedar Key and 45 minutes northwest of Gainesville. We allow a maximum of 7 people and 2 cars. Be sure to read the Treehouse Retreat Rules and let us know if you have questions.  When you book this property, you are renting both and Treehouse (1 queen bed on the main floor plus a small loft for a single bed, no bathroom in the treehouse) and the cabin (1 queen bedroom plus a loft with 2 beds),  with a full kitchen and one full bathroom inside, one bathroom outside).  We provide bath towels and bed linens. The kitchen is equipped with dishes, silverware and basic cooking supplies such as pots, pans, coffee maker, toaster, oven, microwave, etc.  Outside near the fire pit we have a large grill and smoker available to use. We provide grilling tools as well so all you generally need to bring is food and drinks (and charcoal/wood)!  Please note both the cabin and treehouse offer window A/C's and supplemental heat, but this is still camping and the buildings are rustic and may not heat or cool to what you are used to. Power outages do happen, especially during summer storms, so please be aware you may lose electricity and water at times. You are welcome to explore the trails around our property, relax in the hammock or swing, and enjoy the outdoor games. Please return everything as you find it. *** Please make note of our Super Strict cancellation policy. We do not offer full refunds for extenuating circumstances (such as Covid-19, other illness, weather, etc.). If you are concerned about having to cancel unexpectedly, we highly recommend you purchase separate travel insurance (that covers cancelling due to Covid-19, etc.) for your trip.*** * Please note that there are many photos on our site that have been shared by past guests. Have you always wanted to stay in a real treehouse, and sleep in the trees? Here is your chance to do so! Built by the Treehouse Guys of DIY Network, this is the real deal! When the wind blows you may feel the treehouse move with the trees. Walk out to the back deck and enjoy relaxing with a birds eye view. This treehouse is situated on a 4.5 acre property with trails, hammock, games, charcoal grill, fire pit, smoker and detached bathhouse, which you will not share with anyone outside of your small group. The cabin that is nearby is NOT included in this listing, but will not be rented out while you're staying in the treehouse. This listing is for the treehouse only. If you would like to rent both the treehouse and cabin for more space and comfort or want the weekends, please view our other site, the Treehouse Cabin Retreat. The Treehouse has room for up to 3 to sleep with a small single bed in the upper loft (great for kids/teens) and a queen bed on the main floor. ***This is a very rustic getaway in the woods... the Treehouse is an actual treehouse... no water or plumbing, etc. The treehouse is not insulated so it can get a bit cold if we have a big chill, and you will hear the rain on the metal roof during rainstorms. There are a/c window units and heaters to moderate temperatures, but this is camping, and it's not like being in an insulated house. Additional comforts include a TV with DVD player and plenty of videos, a mini-fridge and microwave, and a kettle with french press for making coffee. We provide one set of linens and bath towels per bed/guest. Guests will need to bring their own dishes, grilling/outdoor cooking supplies, etc. Think camping but with some essentials provided. Our treehouse camping getaway lets you disconnect from your busy lifestyle (there is no wi-fi so you can really unplug!), get back to nature and reconnect with those you love. If you enjoy camping or glamping, you will love the treehouse! Enjoy the peaceful outdoors in a unique getaway! Have a campfire, lounge in the hammock, play outdoor games, explore the trails, take a short drive to explore the area's many natural freshwater springs and parks, or just escape and relax among the trees. You deserve time away to rejuvenate & to just be a kid again! We hope that guests will love this little nature getaway, and choose to visit time and again. Please note, we don't have Wi-Fi and cell phone reception can be spotty or weak. Disconnecting from screens is one of the things our guests love best! Be sure and scroll through our entire listing, including the rules, to read more about suitability, expectations, etc. Our pictures show an accurate description of our property, rooms and amenities, but we do occasionally change or replace things like bedding, outdoor furniture, etc. as needed, so some items may vary from what you see in the photos.The rope ladder and fireman's pole that may be shown in past photos on other sites are no longer available due to requirements from our insurance company. We do have other outdoor games for having fun and enjoying nature. The Florida water is not the best... we have a treatment system and while the water is safe to drink, it may have a slight iron smell or discoloration (you'll notice stains on the sinks, tub, etc.) and if you are picky about water, you may wish to bring a jug or two from home with you. It’s Florida... there are bugs! Bugs and creatures (you might see snakes, spiders, lizards, caterpillars and other creepy crawlers especially on the trails.) If you're lucky you'll see woodpeckers, owls, fireflies and more! While we do our best to keep bugs (and their webs) out of the cabin and treehouse, you may see one or two, just sweep them out. We highly recommend bug spray for the outdoors too, especially on the trails (along with closed toed shoes). We truly hope that you enjoy your time here as much as we do. We have some trails throughout the property, behind the cabin, so please feel free to wander, and collect your own fallen firewood, if you would like (please do not cut living trees or shrubs!). Then enjoy a campfire at the fire pit, cook some dinner on the grill or in the huge smoker, listen for the Barred Owls in the woods, make some S’mores and your own vacation memories. You might also see deer, pileated woodpeckers, and the occasional fox! The Old Town area is small (think "old Florida," no big box stores, shopping malls, or traffic!) but has many outdoor activities to choose from. Manatee Springs State Park and Fanning Springs are an easy drive away. Boating or fishing the Suwannee River, hiking the Nature Coast Trail, kayaking Hart Springs, or driving down to Suwannee or lovely Cedar Key are all nice outings. There are many more springs such as Ginnie and Ichetucknee, parks, and activities within 45 minutes as well. Check out our Collections (guides) at the bottom of our listing! The closest market is Old Town Family Market on US-19 in Old Town. There is a Dollar General a couple miles away as well. One of the best places to eat is the Cottage Cafe in Old Town or the Suwannee Belle Landing right on the river, in Fanning Springs. More options can be found in nearby Chiefland. See our guides for more suggestions of restaurants, springs, farms, parks, beaches, etc. We strive to be eco-friendly at the Treehouse Retreat... please bring re-usable dishes, pick up your trash, and help us to conserve electricity when you leave. Please help preserve our natural environment! Enjoy a couple days in the woods, getting back to nature, no internet, away from the hustle and bustle for awhile, and relax and unwind among the trees and stars for a bit.

Absolutely incredible stay! The Treehouse Cabin Retreat exceeded every expectation the perfect mix of comfort and nature. The cabin and treehouse are spotless, cozy, and thoughtfully stocked with everything you might need, from kitchen essentials to comfy bedding. The property is peaceful, surrounded by towering trees and the soothing sounds of nature. We loved the outdoor shower under the stars, the firepit for s’mores, and the hammocks for lazy afternoons. It’s close to the Suwannee River and crystal-clear springs, which made day trips for swimming and kayaking so easy. The host was responsive, kind, and made everything simple from start to finish. If you’re looking to unwind, reconnect, and enjoy a unique glamping experience this place is pure magic. We’re already planning to come back!

Jamil was an Amazing host. Beautiful property that met all of our expectations. Clean and well stocked....Our son enjoyed the games, my husband loved the smoker and I enjoyed the swing by the fire. Close to town and the springs! Who could ask for anything more!! Loved loved loved!! We definitely will be back!! CAN'T WAIT!! Highly recommend!!

Quiet, quaint little getaway spot in the middle of nowhere but convenient to the river which is why we came. Treehouse is very unique! Cool place to stay with all the basic necessities. Heaters provided did a great job at getting a little chill out during overnight hours. Loved the string lights around the pavilion, the outdoor shower and the grill / fire ring.

We had an awesome time staying in the tree house! The host was very tentative . The tree house and bathhouse where both very clean and the grounds where fun! We would highly recommend anyone looking for an fun, unique weekend to try it out ! We definitely plan to stay again .

Absolutely Phenomenal experience! This place was the greatest choice I could have made for our trip. My father and I took my 3 year old son here for his first time camping, and boy did he have a blast. While being close enough to town for supplies, it also retains that real camping feel thanks to the lovely wooded lot. The treehouse w/ the hidden room was a major hit for my son, as well as the fire pit to cook hotdogs and smores. Inside, the Cabin had all the welcoming needs we could have wished for. We were able to cook inside and out, which was very nice. The board games, classic VHS tapes, and outdoor games added a bunch of fun for my son too. The host, Jamil, thought of everything possible to make this place awesome. He was also super friendly and accommodating. We are already planning our next trip to this wonderful place. Thanks so much!

Amazing location! The treehouse was very comfortable and well-maintained. We loved the sound of rain hitting the ceiling at night. Grilling in the woods was definitely a highlight. We highly recommend this place.

Spacious , private and lots of options of outdoor games, firepits, and even a smoker. True tree house experience! Very clean and cute inside! Kari was very accommodating. Will definitely be back! My Husband truly enjoyed using the smoker while there:):)

Treehouse Camping Escape
My boyfriend and I loved staying at Kari's treehouse! It was a childhood dream come true. The property was well taken care of and Kari provided a plethora of outdoor games which we loved as well. As a hurricane hit during our original date of the trip, Kari was extremely flexible and accommodating to let us switch the dates of our trip without any additional cost. Would definitely recommend staying here and would stay here again myself!

Treehouse Cabin Retreat
We had a wonderful Spring Break at the Treehouse! Several springs are nearby: Manatee Springs, Fanning Springs, and Hart Springs. Fanning Springs was very clear and there were manatees and jumping fish and a "Palmetto Path Hiking Trail" that was approx 1 mile. Hart Springs had a jumping dock, splash pad, and 4 different color coded hiking trails in the woods of varying lengths, plus a beautiful boardwalk trail along the Suwannee River. Visited Cedar Key about 45 minutes away and had a nice lunch at Steamers restaurant right on the Gulf of Mexico. There is a little diner for breakfast or lunch close to the cabin (Cottage Cafe) and a cool antique store nearby (Point of View). The Cabin and Treehouse were both lovely and had everything we needed. Our daughter loved the swing and hammock. The Treehouse is our favorite Hipcamp to date!

We celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary at The Treehouse Cabin Retreat & had the most wonderful time! From the moment of booking, Kari was an awesome host to work with, giving us all the info and recommendations we needed to plan and be prepared for our stay. Between the magical treehouse & cozy cabin along with the peaceful grounds, we had all we needed and more! Even though it was just the two of us to enjoy the large property, it still felt cozy & comfortable. We had a lot of fun exploring to discover all the little details that make this place so special including a secret trap door room in the treehouse! So fun!! We sincerely appreciated Kari's attention to detail and care for a sustainable, eco-friendly experience. We left inspired, rested, & happy and will cherish the memories we made there forever. Thank you, Kari!

Beautiful property. The treehouse is amazing with lovely decor. The cabin is roomy. Plenty of games and movies for the kids. Short drive to parks and natural springs. Kari was responsive and accommodating. She even has a neighbor who will deliver your firewood for a reasonable price.

We had an amazing time! Even the side plans we cancelled just so we could enjoy the site more! The place had some side games and swings for playing and enjoyment. We do recommend replacing the hammock though, it was unable to be enjoyed as much. As well as providing some night light options for playing the games at night. We used our flashlights off the pole (sad we couldn’t slide down😭) The morning views and nature is a fun addition! We even named the local squirrels and owl. We had a blast!! Oh and that outdoor shower was a huge game changer!! Very much enjoyed!!

A Wonderful Treehouse Cabin
Treehouse Cabin Retreat
Kari has created the most wonderful cabin and treehouse retreat. Tucked away near the coast and off the grid, staying here allowed us to enjoy time together around the fire and all the little things you would imagine you'd want out there. Even though we had everything we would have needed there, the location is also pretty close to many spectacular spots and Kari provided great suggestions to visit. I really thought the labels, instructions, and amenities provided was a nice touch and made the experience that much better. Especially the check-in and check-out process. If you're looking to unplug from technology for a little while, this is the place to visit.

My family of six had an amazing stay at this cabin. The property has everything needed for a weekend of relaxation outdoors. The decor in the treehouse and cabin is so cute and cozy. My favorite part of my trip was sitting by the fire at night. At sundown we saw and heard bats flying over us, and in the dark we got to see fireflies and heard the owl nearby. My children really enjoyed the swing, hammock, and outdoor games. The owner is extremely thorough and I came prepared thanks to all her advice. We hope to visit your cabin again in the future; thank you Kari for a wonderful stay!

The Treehouse Cabin Retreat is fantastic. I had a great weekend relaxing with some old college friends, but the treehouse also seemed like it would be a lot of fun for families with kids, and the property looked ideal for a hunting or fishing weekend. I had no cell reception on property, but that added to the ambiance. The iron-rich well water was a little harsh, but otherwise the cabin and treehouse were both very comfortable.

Really a dream come true! The cabin has a reminiscent feeling of summer camp. Very cozy and all of the accoutrements to keep you comfortable. I was surprised by the full kitchen, televisions, movies, games, and so many extra linens, towels, and blankets. The Treehouse was pure magic!! Felt so special to have the opportunity to stay in such an awe-inspiring, beautiful place. It was created and decorated with meticulous detail. I kept dreaming of when I could reserve this spot again only to stay longer. We had a short drive and full day at Ginnie Springs which was fabulous! We had dinner at Suwannee Belle Restaurant right on the water with great food, great vibe and live music. Then visited Devils Den about an hour away as we headed home. The trip was peaceful and so good for the soul! Thank you Keri for sharing your absolute gem with us!!

It is a great place. We recommend placing a pair of garden gloves, a chainsaw or an axe in the cabin. That will help on cutting the logs when needed. It is also good to bring a roll of aluminum foil if you want to use the charcol grill or smoker.
