Parking is only available at the bottom of the driveway for tent campers. All tent sites are less than a 5 minute hike up the trails. There is plenty of firewood available after 3 hurricanes in a year's time. The Bird Ranch is 4 acres of peaceful nature. We have 3 pioneer sites (2 with fire pits), and one RV hook-up (30 Amp power and water) to choose from. We never really know what wildlife is wondering around or when they might pop up. Rest assure though; there are always birds singing, crickets chirping, frogs croaking, owls hooting, and we can even hear the neighboring pigs, chickens, cows, goats and dogs from time to time. I will take all that over city noise any day of the week! The Gofer Turtles are protected wildlife here, but please do not disturb ANY of the animals or their homes. We have had kids destroy a turtle's home before, so please be mindful. The property has trails, an open field for games, and plenty of day outings to do. There are 2 natural springs (Royal Springs and Little River Springs) off the Suwannee River that are each a 10-minute drive. Branford Springs and Troy Springs are within 20 minutes. You can float down the Ichetucknee River on an innertube (seasonal), catch a local rodeo just down Hwy 129 or take a 3 hour round trip bike ride on the Suwannee River Greenway. The Mystic Jungle Educational Facility is a quick 15 minutes up Hwy 129 towards Live Oak, where you can learn about their wild animals on a guided tour, but they are only open on Saturdays. Cedar Key is a quiet little town 1.5 hours away with cute shops and restaurants for a nice day trip ***(also very messed up from hurricanes last year, so no promises)***. They roll up the streets after sunset; but what a beautiful sunset! There are also a few horseback riding ranches within 20 minutes from the property and if you're really adventurous and want to ride a camel; Lonesome Chicken Camel Ranch is less than an hour away. Call ahead to make sure they are open. Please be courteous of your fellow campers and my neighbors, by adhering to a 10 pm noise maintenance.

Not The Best Spot for Big Riggs

Overall it wasn't a bad experience because we had the whole place to ourselves. There was plenty of free firewood, horse shoes, lighting etc. The only issue I had was the power was only 30 amp service and I or we after getting a callback after having to find the right power panel, I said great thought resting the breaker fixed it said thanks goodnight however that didn't fix the problem so I ended up just running off my generator and limited what I used. When I spoke to the owner about maybe getting a pricé deal for fuel she told me the free firewood was my discount.! I still stayed 1 more night because I didn't want to break everything down. The pile of fire starter is right by the fire pit next to the water feature that had no water like the pictures. If you don't bring your own toys there's not that much you can do onsite.if there would have been other campers it might wouldn't have worked for us.BUT LIKE I SAID IN THE BEGINNING.overall it was a cute secluded nice place to camp just not for a 34 foot diesel pusher.i was able to get it in but it was real close.and the neighbors should do something about their dogs barking.i love dogs we had two but their dogs don't shut up at night.hope this helps and I hope everyone has a great adventure.

This is a lovely private alcove with tent& RV spots. I arrived after dark and the place had little lights all over making it welcoming. It was a short drive to several springs, Ichetucknee is the best. Nice firepit areas with lots of firewood.

Super easy place to stay near a variety of North Florida springs and only 20 mins from a local dive shop! You have to park a bit away from the tent camp sites but it's a pretty walk with lots of trees. Heard lots of owls and you might have to deal with the neighboring dogs barking at night but wasn't too bad. Tent sites have a convenient fire ring but nothing else so bring what you want/need while you are there! Thanks for the stay we really appreciate having easy locations bear some awesome attractions

Cutest little backwoods place
It was super nice! We were a little confused on where to go once we got on property and definitely drove down the wrong path but eventually figured it out. We loved the little site signs and arrows on where to go down the walking paths to get to the bathroom and such. We thought a property map would have been helpful but the remote woods were exactly what we needed so that part was great 🩵🩵
