I loved the site. Secluded with a fence and private fire pit. It was amazing having the tent set up on wood for the first time vs on the ground very comfy!

beautiful site under the tree's with lot's of room to explore. it was a little slippery coming into the site because you're parking on sand & leaves & it was a bit wet when i arrived, but even with that, it was so lovely & quiet, i do still highly recommend. thanks hilary! 😊

We loved the well drained bass pond spot with full hookups for the 4th of July maiden voyage of our camper. The weather was a bit of a challenge but we made the best of it. The road getting to the property was a little hard to find. Thanks to the host for the " SA" sign. We would not have found the little bumpy road that took us to this green, secluded campsite. The water hook up had good tasting water, a 30 amp service and a black water connection. We lost power for a couple of hours and the host called to make sure it was not just a tripped breaker. Thankfully the power returned before it got too hot on a rainy night. There was a lot of booms from fireworks in the distance, not a super quiet spot, but good space near everything for this learning campout. I would definitely want to camp here in the future. Perfect for the dog. Toilet and shower on the property were present but we fugured out how to take care of those essentials in the RV. Bring your pole, the fish are jumping. This would be a great spot to teach little campers how to wet a line.

Rain while tent camping sucks

If there's no rain in the forecast, I would recommend this location. Due to all the rain, our site was quite flooded so we cut our trip a day short. That's not the owner's fault though. Hilary was very communicative and helpful to get us there. There's a restroom (a plus while camping), and a shower. There are firewood bundles for purchase, which came in handy due to all the surrounding woods being wet from rain.

Campsites +, Facilities - big time

The camp site(s) were great. No problem with the directions (like some posted in previous reviews). Unfortunately it rained a lot and grounds god wet, soggy and muddy….. but still great sites, no complaints!! The pictures in the listing gives a very accurate representation of what you will see here. Unfortunately, that goes for the shower and bathroom also. This is not the place for you if you want decent facilities., these were in pretty bad shape. I am not all that picky, but I will look for different campgrounds to explore unless some upgrades are made here. Having said that, enjoyed the trip. You will have lots of space to yourself, sites are huge and spaced far apart!!

Photos vs Current Reality

Overall, we had a nice stay. I will say, the photos advertised on Hipcamp were much nicer than what we arrived to. Perhaps the property was once in better condition. This property could be magical with a lot more care and attention. The good: this is true beautiful Florida. Our site was pretty level, quiet, and peaceful. The mid: the road heading back is more of a worn pathway. This did not bother me at all and added to the experience and feel of being more secluded. I mention this in case someone may not be expecting this, as it could be muddy with our Florida rain. The not-so-good: which is quite bad. The restrooms. In my opinion, they are unusable. I don't expect sparkling Buc'ees level bathrooms, but upon opening the door we nearly booked another campsite elsewhere. There is no way I would use the shower or the toilet. If you have an RV with your own facilities, this potentially wouldn't be a problem. The last item is more with the appearance. I will say the very large pole structure full of stuff is an eye sore to what could be such a beautiful camp experience. To the point, when taking photos, I tried to avoid it because it looks as if you're staying in the side yard of a junk yard. I do understand that this is someone's family property that are willing to share it with campers (for money), but the experience could have been better without seeing the clutter.

We stayed in the Orange blossom cabin. It was one of the most peaceful nights we've ever had. Hillary was wonderful. She was incredibly accommodating. We are planning to return for a longer stay. We give 1000 gold stars!!

We enjoyed our stay in the Gypsy Garden at Smokey Acres Campground. It did rain during our stay, so we were grateful for the tent platform keeping us a little drier!

Dad's camping trip part 2

My dad loved camping here for the couple days. He was in a different area the first two days and her the last two. He highly recommended that people should definitely see this for themselves. A great place to reconnect with nature. Beautiful sunrises and amazing sunsets. And Holly is amazing. Wonderful Host.. 10 👍 😁

Very peaceful and beautiful. They also had no problem with my request to change camps site so I was closer to the bathroom. As well as easily letting me extend my stay for a few extra days away from all the hustle and hustle. Also love they had precut fire wood for $8 so I didn't have to do it. I would recommend to any camper. Will come back.

Absolutely loved it!!!! So so cute and pretty spacious! I felt i was in my own world but there were also many families around me, so I felt very safe as well! If you’re on the taller side, though, definitely bring a mattress or cot haha other then that it was so cute! Will definitely come again!

My Dad stayed here and absolutely loved it. They have an awesome platform to put it tent out on. It's a beautiful place and so much nature to enjoy. Totally recommend if your out looking to connect with nature.

Overall it was great. We had tent site 1. We left early due to storms. But the pond looks way smaller in person but we did catch quite a few fish. Bluegill and catfish. It is overgrown now with weeds so it's hard to not get snagged which upset my smaller kids big time. But other than that quite, flat space.

The Host Hillary was very helpful at all aspects,from giving precise directions to supplying a adapter for me to plug in to sure power. The scenery is beautiful and all sites are well maintained daily. I enjoy waking up to new neighbors each morning or just meeting friendly faces at the Bass pond swapping fish stories. Whenever I reach out to the host Hillary she responds promptly with advise or encouraging words to make me and my girlfriend stay comfortable. I will continue to visit and stay at Smokey Acres as long as there is availability.

First and foremost the sewer inlet pipe for the unlevel site was out of the ground higher then the outlet on our class B RV resulting in us having to use the 'far beyond rustic' single stool toilet that the under side of the seat & open air room has not been cleaned for a long time, maybe ever. We didn't & wouldn't use the plywood shower. The property was mowed but offset by piles of saved junk here and there, especially in the pole barn making the charcoal grills they advertise inaccessible. the bass pond was muddy water, as the dirt road through out, and produced only catfish. For the money we were charged we could have stayed at a state park that had sewer hook ups, clean secure concrete restrooms with showers and a staff that maintains the grounds completely. Example: there has never been broken glass around our fire pit as there was here.

Slightly off the beaten path but close enough to necessities. Quiet (there is some road noise but it's absolutely not a problem). Clean. Spacious sites; you're not on top of your neighbors. Would 100% stay at this property again.

The site itself was quite nice! There were beautiful oak trees on the property and lots of different birds with unique bird sounds that was really cool. There were beautiful site had elecriticity and water available, which was great. There were beautiful main area that needs improvement that could make the stay more pleasing was the restroom and shower. Both units are very rustic, which is to be expected, but most need some TLC and renovations so that that aspect of the camping experience would be better. I thought the campsite was a 7/8 but the facilities were a 3, in my opinion. The host was very effective in her communications and directions so that was also appreciated. Overall, this is a nice camping site but could be better if the restroom/shower area was improved.
