Words and photos alike would not be able to capture the magic of this place. In our 16 months of full-time travel, this stop made for some of the most memorable experiences. Chris is friendly, welcoming, helpful, and truly one of the best people we’ve met. Having access to the bay, we kayaked everyday. We were able to enjoy three blue crabs from traps, as well as a red fish we caught. Chris taught us how to filet, season, and cook the fish and crabs, which was invaluable. Our two dogs had access to the beautiful backyard, and we also took them to a nearby dog beach (Pensacola West). We were able to work from the pier, and there’s space for a yoga mat for exercise and meditation. Chris’ home is an oasis: you can feel the depth of calm and peace here. We truly hope we’re able to return soon, and it was bittersweet when it was time to go. If you visit here, please take the time to honor and respect the natural beauty and your life will be fuller because of it.
