Our stay at PermOcala was both relaxing and educational. Our kind host, Keith, and his awesome son, Jai, welcomed my husband and I to the property upon our arrival and gave us a memorable tour of their permaculture-inspired property.
PermOcala is home to many unique, edible, medicinal plants. They grow abundantly throughout the property and Keith can tell you about all of them. Oregano, moringa, lemon, turmeric, ginger, and passionfruit were but a few plant species identified and tasted. Keith described the beneficial properties of each plant, and my husband and I loved learning all about
them. It is a real inspiration when owners share their enthusiasm for the health and ecology of the environment. What was even more inspiring, however, was hearing Keith’s young son, Jai, casually identify and rattle off the names of numerous trees, shrubs, and flowers. The future is in good hands!
During our stay at PermOcala, we pitched our tent under the shade of old-growth trees near the outdoor kitchen and bathroom facilities. At night, we built a great fire in the provided fire ring and slept soundly thereafter. The next morning, we got up and drove down the road to nearby Silver
Springs. If you stay at Perm Ocala, we definitely recommend you visit these gorgeous springs. If you want to go paddle boarding there, Keith has an inflatable SUP available for rent.
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our time at PermOcala. Thank you for your hospitality! It was a pleasure meeting you!
