Private campsite in the middle of the city! My family and I were lucky enough to find a four acre urban forest less than two miles from FSU, the Florida Capitol and downtown Tallahassee. And just a mile from midtown! We are welcoming tent campers to come experience camping in an urban forest. The camping area has a hot water shower and sink, and the main site (#76), is fully outfitted with fire ring, tent pad, fresh water, a picnic table and plenty of hammock trees! The camp area has space for up to 6 tent campers and 2 cars. All sites share the shower and sink areas and a port-o-potty that is professionally cleaned weekly. Sprinter style vans (UPDATE) - We successfully had a Sprinter Van on the site and have now started accepting booking for that style van. Due to limitations on space and clearance, we can only allow vans with a max of around 10 1/2' tall and 23' long. This is equivalent to a Sprinter 170. We can not fit RVs or extended wide bodies conversions. Pets: Pets on leashes are allowed on the property. Guests with aggressive animals will be asked to leave.Private campsite in the middle of the city! Magnolia Mountain is a hidden gem in the middle of the city. No one even knows its there, including a friend of mine who has lived in the house directly in front of it for the past 2 years and had no idea it was even there. The outdoor shower is an amazing feature that sits in the back of the camp. Danny is an amazing host who gives you your privacy, is friendly and one can have a conversation with him. Great place to ease people into camping who are beginners or are just scared of the woods. Can bring your dogs, family, friends and have a great time. I would definitely recommend this spot to anyone and I will be bringing my kids there for their first time camping.

The site was amazing!! Less than 10 minutes from campus! The hot shower was really nice and the site was very organized. The owner, Danny was very nice and made sure we had a good experience. So glad we found this, we’ll definitely be back!! Thanks, Danny!

We were so lucky to stumble upon this campsite! It was parent’s weekend at FSU, and we were on the hunt for a place to crash for the weekend. The campsite was super convenient, right next to the school, but it still felt like you were in a whole different world. The host was amazing and gave us some great recommendations for places to check out nearby. The shower on-site was top-notch, and everything was spotless. We’re definitely going back!

Campsite was clean and well organized. Easily access for my SUV. Water tasted clean. Site was free of weeds, and no excessive bugs. The host greeted me for a minute to make sure I knew where everything was and then I had the site to myself for the rest of the day. Was a great experience.

Very cool little spot right in the city of Tallahassee! Clean spot. Quiet. Loved the outdoor shower! Strange to be in the city and yet feel like you're out in the middle of nowhere!

Beautiful spot to stay. Feels very secluded and private. Host was very friendly but did not intrude on personal space/ privacy whatsoever. Definetly will be staying again. While it’s close to town it does not feel like it when you are on the site. You get the best of both worlds (access to town and privacy of outdoors)

This was an amazing stay at Danny’s little retreat! the outdoor shower was gorgeous and Danny was able available on stand by for any help, my boyfriend and i booked this two hours before our stay and Danny helped us settle in, would definitely recommend , also there’s no wildlife except bugs and mosquitos! i think it may be due to location beeping in the middle of town, we were happy about that being that we are beginners to camping ! we had the area to ourselves and the night was quiet and peaceful!

The camp was conveniently located for us to go to the various spots we wanted to visit. I had a small 4th grade class on a geography field trip, and it was set up just right and safe for them. There was plenty of wood for the fire and there was enough room for three tents and a hammock. The shower set-up and dishwashing area is perfect. In fact, the students raved about the shower and jokingly agreed it was their favorite part of the trip. Compared to Wakulla Springs, The Florida Caverns, and the Tallahassee Museum that was a tall order! Danny was a great host and gave good advice on local spots to grab a coffee or meal. I will come back and use the camp to visit friends in the area. Thanks, Danny!!

Danny’s place is amazing, as all of the reviews say…right in the heart of the city, but you feel like you are in the woods. We only stayed a quick night on our way through town, but could see staying longer…try to get there during the daylight, much easier to find your way. We have a 23’ long rig, with storage add ons more like 25’. We made it…it was tight turns, but we made it just fine 👍

What a great little camp site! Showers were amazing and the privacy was perfect. Campsite was clean and Danny was attentive. If you’re staying near FSU it is a perfect spot for you. We even went to the local springs while visiting, wakulla springs

Magnolia Mountain is an extraordinary gem—an urban forest escape tucked just minutes from downtown Tallahassee, yet it feels worlds away. The site is beautifully maintained, with a spacious tent pad, fire ring, picnic table, and plenty of hammock-ready trees. The hot water shower and clean port-a-potty were welcome comforts, and the shared sink area made camp life easy.​ Despite being close to FSU and the Capitol, the site felt incredibly private and peaceful. The host, Danny, was friendly and responsive. Whether you're a local looking for a quick nature getaway or passing through the city, Magnolia Mountain offers a serene, well-equipped camping experience. We can't wait to return!

Heavily wooded area right in the middle of Tallahassee. Danny came by to introduce himself to give me the lay of the land. I stayed in my truck bed tent under a canopy of trees. It has a fire, picnic table and shower. I travel for work and stay in a lot of hotels and this was chance to stay outdoors. The birds and squirrel sounds were so entertaining. Cool spot. Will stay here again.

This is a great spot. I felt very comfortable. The shower is really nice, and the toilet is close and convenient. You’re surrounded by trees, tucked away in a little forest, but close to everything in Tally. Also, Danny is a great guy, which made the stay all the better.

This is a really great spot. I stayed here for over a week and I was very comfortable. You’re surrounded by trees, tucked away in a secluded little forest, but super close to everything in Tally. The shower is great, and the bathroom is close and convenient. Also, the host Danny is a really nice guy. I would definitely stay again.

This place is the best. The site was beautiful and very convenient in terms of location and amenities -- it has everything you need as a camper, with some extra thoughtful touches like the solar lights around the outdoor shower/sink. Speaking of the outdoor shower, it was so nice it literally made me decide to build my own. Danny was a wonderful and very accommodating host; in our party of 8, one of us got delayed and had to drive separately, and he had no problem with us having an extra car there. He's also just a super cool guy and I enjoyed having the chance to chat with him about the property. If you have the opportunity to stay here, you definitely won't be disappointed!

If you like camping and want to explore Tallahassee, this is a great option. It’s an excellent spot in the middle of the city, yet it feels like you’re away from it. However, keep in mind that you’re still in the city, so you’ll hear typical urban sounds. If you’re looking for complete silence, this might not be the place for you. It’s very pleasant, clean, comfortable, and easily accessible. Best of all, the shower has hot water! Awesome Danny is excellent host and always is attentive to whatever you need.

Another excellent stay on Danny's property. This time we booked both sites (Magnolia and Hilltop) since we had a group. Everyone in our crew loved it and plans to come back! I know we will returning again and again when heading to Tallahassee for our mountain bike adventures. Everything is exactly as described, and Danny is an amazing host.
