An excellent get-a-way.
This is a large, beautiful ranch that’s a perfect place to kick back and relax or use as a base to see surrounding sites. Friendly horses and donkeys graze freely during the day. Sandhill cranes can usually be seen walking about. Ibis feed in and around the ponds. You can walk up to the large enclosures to greet the goats and hens. An overall great experience.
I’ve also rarely seen such well maintained restroom facilities.
There is obviously a great deal of care and pride that goes into every aspect of this ranch.
A great experience! I’ll be back.

This is a perfect setup for so many reasons. The sites and property are beautiful and large. The bathhouse is next level compared to what I have typically seen at a HipCamp. There are so many fantastic birds that are just... THERE. We had an excellent orientation to the campsites and property so you start feeling welcomed and settled.
It was an easy 30-minute drive to see Manatees and less for all the other amenities you may need. As well as a river put in less than 10 minutes away. The truth is, you could come all the way down here just to camp out here. That is because of the Farm Experience Tour. If you want they offer a tour of their farm so you can see what they have going on there. It is amazing and better than any other petting zoo I know of.
This may be the best thought out Hipcamp in the southeast if not more. I highly recommend it.

Lovely grounds, friendly hosts
We stayed in the Stewardship Forrest on Rob and Mike's ranch. It was a delight to wake on our private, primitive site with a beautiful view of the cypress bog.
We hiked the near by conservation areas, and also enjoyed the trails along the bog on the ranch grounds.
A really unique part of our peaceful stay was the horses just mosey-ing on through our site! The helpful property guide book was helpful in identifying who's who among the livestock, outlined property rules and amenities (which includes a lovely out door kitchen for food prep & washing up (complete with complementary coffee and hot cocoa) flush toilets and hot showers! The guide also offers guidance on what you may feed the animals.
We'll definitely be back!

ONE OF A KIND!
This is one of the BEST camping experiences we’ve ever had! Rob and Mike have put so much time and thought into making this place one of a kind! My kids were elated with the free roaming donkeys and horses and the barn experience was so cool! We will 100% be back to this amazing spot!

Magical camping experience
What an amazing location to camp in and what amazing hosts. Mike and Rob are very friendly, helpful and gracious. From the time we arrived to the time we left, they were always available to help or answer a question. Our stay there was so unique that we definitely will come back. The animals that roam free throughout the day and visit, have this campground a magical feel. They offer a tour of their farm with other animals like goats, dogs, pigs that you can pet and feed. It's free and was such a fun experience. They keep the grounds and facilities very clean and well stocked. I couldn't recommend this campground more, you definitely should book and stay there. Mike and Rob are wonderful hosts.

10/10
We were only there a short time, but created so many memories. The farm animal experience exceeded expectations. The goats, the horses, the donkeys, dogs, pigs… all of them friendly, clean, healthy. You can tell Rob and Mike really care about their animals and their guests. Thank you. We will be back.
