The property was easily accessible and quiet. Bit of an odd neighborhood vibe and surrounding area, but felt safe. The description says Lake Huntley with private dock. But it is on Lake Helen and no dock. Directions from the host were accurate.

It is a very nice site. Secluded and secure once you figure out the combination on the lock. Don't put the code in the center use the line above. I would have stayed longer had the electric been working

Frank is a responsive host in case you need help. Thank you Frank!
Bring water, toilet, and pack out your trash. Site has good WiFi and enough solar to keep your batteries charged from a 15 amp outlet. You will need a long 3 prong extension cord.
There are sand trails for ATV and motorbikes on adjacent properties in the development. I saw several kayak fishermen on the lake reeling in a catch.

Property is as noted and most the neighborhood is also undeveloped.
Primitive camping w/comfort of WiFi, I was fortunate. It was a sunny day and the battery charged as I was able to stream Sunday football games.
Con: Had to pack’out my trash as there was a non covered blue barrel overflowing w/rain waters & previous campers garbage.
Private location -beautiful sunset over the lake..
Con: BUT do be aware the camp/lot is surrounded by
off-road ATV/dirt bike trails.
I experienced people doing both activities during my weekend stay.
2 after dark evenings of racing ATV’s, (fri & Saturday), and one morning after my breakfast 2 very loud dirt bikers jumping the hills around my camp …come Monday morning the neighborhood was pleasantly quiet once again.
No problem finding location -Directions sent were precise & best roads to be taken.
Had some cloudy/rainy weather prior to my arrival so when WiFi (battery) was down
AT&T/5g ; good signal.
Used this camp as my homebase : enjoyed the many lakes/parks and the towns sites (many beautiful murals) and shops while I was
visiting/passing through this way.
Frank was very quick to respond to any/all of my texts-
Even offered a generator if needed and use of a kayak if I was interested.

Be very careful not to follow any smartphone map directions. The owner will recommend the BEST road to help you avoid getting stuck in sand.
Site was quiet and remote. It’s a great place for travel shut eye, or a day or two of a get away.

Nice place to van camp, was able to park and be completely invisible from the road. I went there on a rather cool fall night so mosquitoes were not an issue. There was enough firewood left over to make a healthy fire. Overall I had a nice time.

Easy to follow access instructions!! Pretty view and very peaceful. The WIFI wasn’t working in the evening because solar wasn’t charging his batteries. There was a generator and he said I could have used to charge them up - but I really didn’t need and didn’t want to mess with his setup!

The atmosphere was beautiful, lots of mosquitoes but it was expected. The campfire looks out onto the late. Very scenic and hidden away next to a friendly neighborhood.

The views over the lake are beautiful and the site felt private, quiet and spacious. I do not recommend it for tents, since the land isn't flat for setting one. There isn't running water either and therefore, I'd only rent this place if traveling / camping in an RV.
I didn't see an easy way to get the kayak into the water.
There is a table and fire pit.

Beautiful, quiet and secure campsite.
Frank is a great host that responds quickly if you need him.
As others have mentioned, enter on Blackbird Lane to avoid unpaved road and setup facing the water.
I will certainly be returning to this location.

The site is in a great location and the best part for us was the privacy. It's more than adequate for someone set up with solar as we are and trying to perfect it for traveling out west. Frank, the host, was easy to contact, quick to respond and very helpful.

We had a lovely time at Lk Helen hideaway. It was very quiet and dark. Great night sky. The new asphalt milling drive and parking area was very nice and level. Getting there on Black Bird Ln and Swallow Dr was easy. Thanks. If we are in the area again will stay a bit longer.

For reference, we have a 35' fifth wheel. First off, don't follow Google! It kept wanting us to take Rose Lane which is single track dirt road with a sandpit in the middle of it. We got lucky it had rained, so the sand was compacted and we had 4WD get our camper thru it.
You can't tell from the pics, but the parking area is on a rise. If you have a larger unit, you will want to use Blackbird Lane and the north gate/driveway (get the code from Frank ahead of time). It has a better angle from the road and slower rise. It'll also set you up to face the lake instead of the road.
Once you're parked, it's a peaceful location with lots of areas to walk, yet still close to town.

For an RV or camper site this site is probably good, but for tent camping I hated it.
The area past the driveway is a hill, so that means you have to set up your tent on an incline. Mine was at maybe a 30 degree slope and the words “this sucks” kept coming out of my mouth. Think of sleeping on a cot, making food, standing things up without them falling over, standing up at night without falling over… I was miserable. Also the entire area is covered in 2 ft high grass (~80% coverage), some cactus, some pricker vines, ants, and most areas are close to the water. SO trying to pick a spot navigating all that was very hard and I ended up having to pull up a lot of grass and things to clear an area. So much fun. Also, the sand is loose so high winds, loose sand, and a tilted tent are not a good match. You should be an experienced camper to camp here or you are asking for trouble.
The frog and toad sounds were cool. It sounded like a Star Wars bar with aliens talking to each other.

Camping at Lake Helen was an amazing experience. There are no immediate neighbours as the site is surrounded by sandy ATV trails. Self check in was easy and the site was most definitely worth the price. I will return next time I'm traveling in Florida!

Grate place to swim in the lake, bbq on camp fire, you could rent kayak, ATV, fishing rod.
Also you could rent an 3b apartment 15m drive from place.
