Grassy Springs Farm and Retreat is the first approved farmstay in Alachua County! We offer a peaceful and pet-friendly escape in the heart of rural Alachua. Guests can choose to stay in a cozy tiny house cabin, a fully equipped camper, or bring their own RV for a quiet getaway surrounded by nature. Traveling with horses or pets is no problem. Each site is designed with animals in mind, including fully fenced dog yards and access to 2 one-eighth-acre fenced paddocks for horses. All types of pets are welcome, and we’ve created a space where both people and their animals can relax comfortably. Onsite water is available for animals’ basic needs, whether that’s a dog bowl or a horse trough. This is a great place for those looking to unplug. There are no electrical hookups for the RVs, offering a true back-to-basics experience in a quiet farm setting. The open space and paddock give horses room to stretch, and the peaceful surroundings are perfect for walks, outdoor time with your dog, or just enjoying nature. Guests can also rent out multiple sites if they’d like to gather with extended family or friends. It’s an ideal setting to connect and unwind together while still having your own space. At night, sit by the fire and take in the stars. Our location has Class 4 Bortle skies, making it a great spot for stargazing, telescopes, or astrophotography. Please note that horseback riding is not allowed on the property, but there are plenty of nearby trails to explore during the day. Grassy Springs is the perfect spot to relax with your animals and enjoy the simple rhythm of life on a working farm.

Welcome to **Paws and Ponies #1**, the perfect getaway for RV travelers, horse enthusiasts, and pet lovers! This site offers a convenient and spacious back-in setup, designed to accommodate even larger RVs with ease. Here’s everything you need to know about what we offer: **The Site** -Roomy Parking: Ample space is provided for your RV, truck, and horse trailer. The large open area makes backing in hassle-free. -Water Access: A water source is located about 50 feet away, and you can easily cart water for your animals. -Generator-Friendly: Quiet generator use is welcome during non-quiet hours (9:00 AM–9:00 PM). -Privacy: The campsite is set along a private, quiet road with a natural bush and tree barrier between the campsites and the road. While the second site is visible, the boundaries are clearly marked for added privacy. **Shared Amenities** If you book both sites or coordinate with your neighbors, you can enjoy shared amenities located in the common area, including: - A smoker/grill for cookouts. - A hammock to relax under the trees. - Cornhole boards (available upon request) for some friendly competition. **Your Pets** - Private Paddock: Directly in front of your site is a 1/8-acre, fully-fenced, gated paddock where your pets (horses, dogs, or other furry friends) can stretch and play safely. - The paddock includes a metal water trough and a bucket for moving water. - Guests should bring feeders and feed/hay for their animals. - Safety Requirements: Pets must be up-to-date on vaccinations. Horses require proof of a negative Coggins test (per state law), which must be shown upon arrival. - Leash Rules: Outside the fenced paddock, all pets must be properly restrained and cannot free roam. **Farm Life** As a working farm, we’re thrilled to share our lifestyle with guests! Each stay includes a **complimentary farm tour** where you can: - Visit our friendly miniature horses (feel free to bring carrots or apples to share!). - See our beautiful show chickens. - Explore the greenhouse filled with medicinal herbs and fruit. **Buddy Camping** Traveling with friends or family? The Camper at Grassy Springs Farm is a cozy retreat nestled on our working farm, just 15–20 minutes from Blue, Poe, and Ginnie Springs, the Santa Fe River, Ichetucknee Springs, O’Leno State Park, and San Felasco Park. This comfortable camper features a queen bed, a full-size bunk bed, a dinette, and a fully equipped kitchen with a microwave, fridge and freezer, coffee maker, burner, and pans for your cooking needs. WiFi is available, and guests are welcome to explore the farm, meet our horses and chickens, and take a guided farm tour. Contact us if you’d like to bring your horse along for the stay.

The Cabin at Grassy Springs
We loved the cabin at Grassy Springs. The hosts was very accommodating and responsive. It was everything we could have hoped for in a weekend get-away. Highly recommend.

Paws and Ponies #1
Paws and Ponies #1 is an absolute gem. From the moment I arrived I felt at home in the beautiful setting and the peacefulness of the campsite. The scenery was tunning and at night the clear skies provided an incredible view of the stars and planets. One of the highlights for me was how pet-friendly the site was. The hosts are definitely "pet" people. The space for my dog was perfect and gave him plenty of room to explore and be "off leash" safely. It is clear that a lot of thought went into making this a great spot for humans and their four legged companions. I will be going back to this HICAMP.
