Cedar Canyon Quarry is a family-owned property that was once a lime rock mine which has been inactive since the 1970's and has since "rewilded" itself with hundreds of red cedars. The lake itself which is located within a canyon and surrounded by cliffs has numerous connections to the Florida Aquifer via underground springs and is filled with bass, bluegill, catfish, perch, and even a small population of freshwater eels! Less than an hour from Gainesville and only 2.5 miles from the Ichetucknee river, we are available by appointment only 7 days a week, 365 days per year. This property is family owned for 4 generations; it is a retired rock quarry. Forty acres with a canyon and a deep springfed lake. With the tall canyon walls and the deep springfed lake surrounded by the mature cedars you might not even believe you are in Florida. Attractions surrounding the lake include a public bicycle trail, Itchetucknee River State Park, the historic Suwanneee River, and the Santa Fe River.  The primitive zone is a peaceful environment with one or two neighbors nearby but not too close. No electricity, water, or sewer is provided to campsites. Our lake and campground is located less than three miles from the Ichetucknee River so it will be no problem to be one of the first in line during the Spring and Summer when Ichetuckee State Park can reach full capacity within hours of opening.   Please note that Primive Zone Campsites DO NOT INCLUDE LAKE ACCESS unless you pay for additional activities such as Swimming/Kayaking or Fishing which must be booked through Hipcamp.  Campsites are  5-10 minutes walking distance from the restroom.
