I booked this location for 2 nights and was expecting a nice camp site from all the photos shown in the listing
We arrived Thursday night, the address provided takes you to someone else’s property, difficult to find
I called the host Debra and she answered only to say “omg, you are the camper, I totally forgot about you coming, I am not ready at all, the outhouse is a mess” she even mentioned she was going to cancel me but forgot.
While on the phone with her she guided me to her property and it was not lit up like other reviewers had said, it was dark and unmaintained.
Upon arriving, one of the permanent campers came out and was unaware we were coming and that interaction was very awkward and made my wife and i feel uncomfortable.
However I gave it a chance and proceeded to check out the campground and outhouse, the sand around the pond had overgrown grass nothing like the photos, the outhouse was a disaster, disgusting toilet and showers, mold and hard water stains everywhere.
After seeing this, I called Debra back and told her I want a refund cause this is nothing like the listing shows in the photos.
This entire situation put our trip plans in a bind and we had to quickly find a hotel for the night and the next since we had planned for 2 nights in the area.
Horrible host, even worse camp site, how are you going to host and forget about your guests when I messaged you everyday since I booked with you to confirm we are good to go with no response from the host!

Unique place with a swimming hole, outdoor shower, and a friendly cat! Very friendly host who let us add a second day to our stay on short notice.

The spot to camp is nice, large and level with lots of lights. So no worries there. We made a nice fire in the fire pit.
We did not make use of the shower.
Unfortunately the other people who also live on these premises got into a loud argument with some shouting and driving cars and motorbikes in the surrounding area. Loud music was also until late. This did not improve the atmosphere.
So, nice place to dry-camp apart from the issue with the other more or less permanant residents. We did not meet Debra so don't know if this was just an unfortrnate incident.

Debra was awesome, her property was nice, clean and beautiful. Everyone was so friendly and helpful it felt like home away from home. My children enjoyed the property. One suggestion is to add an additional picnic table.
We will definitely be back.

Very charming and electic. We very much enjoyed our stay at the Oaks and will return. Debra has some sweet little animals to keep you company...a duck...some kitties and a very sweet dog. The property has a number of amenities and is well maintained.

We loved tent camping on Debra’s land. We were grateful for the restroom and shower even though there was only cold water. The pond was beautiful with a fountain and 2 cute ducks. We enjoyed watching the pig get chased by the ducks. We were thankful for a safe place to camp for the night.

We loved tent camping on Debra's land the views were beautiful and a lot of activities for kids were they can have a lot of fun definitely will come back again and highly recommend. Thank you so much Mrs Debra for your hospitality and amability.

Great amenities, and well lit area. We arrived at 1 am and were still able to find a spot to set up our tent. Debra was very welcoming, and gave good directions before arrival, and brought us coffee in the morning.

My family & I LOVED camping at Debbie's place in the Oaks; such a beautiful piece of property! Directions were clear & we were greeted when we arrived. Our site had a wonderful view all the time, but watching the sun set through the huge oak trees was just perfect! Such a great time with Debbie & her thoughtful family!

It’s not often the kids are entertained during camping! They had so much fun! Debra and her family were so sweet and welcoming! We will definitely be back!

Debra and her husband Mike were so hospitable and they've done such a great job with their space. It is the perfect location to be at a smaller private fenced off campground (in their large yard complete with a fountain pond and numerous seating/picnic areas) that is still close to the beach and the attractions of the city. I went with my wife and our 4 and 5 year old and they loved it.

Unfortunately, my family and I were unable to go. But Debra was very nice and understanding. We look forward to hopefully getting the opportunity to stay with Deborah in the future.

The area is very pretty with shower and toilet available. They are adding a cooking area with grill for their guests. The beach area had tables, candles, and adirondack chairs to enjoy the scenery. Debra was very helpful and made sure I had what was needed. I would definitely return and encourage others to experience the Beach at the Oaks.
