šŸš— Two miles (5min drive) from downtown Sarasota šŸŒ“ Old-Florida charm: lots of lush tropical greenery šŸš£šŸ¼ā€ā™‚ļø On Whitakerā€™s Bayou. šŸŒŸ Itā€™s the best of both worlds: peaceful nature on the creek, and easy access to all the best restaurants, beaches, and charming Main St atmosphere. šŸ’© MUST have a bathroom on-board. No sewer hookup šŸ’¦ No water hookup, but you may fill your water tank with the hose āš”ļø 15amp & 30 amp plug ins. BYO adapter. Extension cord needed to reach the plug. šŸ•ļø No long term campers. No tent camping. šŸš“šŸ¼ Biking to Main St takes 8-10minutes if you have bicycles! šŸ–ļø Ten minute drive from St-Armands Circle and Lido Beach; 20-25 minute drive from Siesta Key Beach. The Bayou goes all the way out to the Gulf - we see large schools of mullet here, occasionally turtles, hawks, and herons. If you are lucky, you might see a manatee or an otter! We have a 36ā€ campfire pit you are welcome to use. We are still working on getting seating for the campfire pit, but if you have camping chairs, itā€™s perfect! We have an amazing location to share AND we also have neighbors to the left, and across the creek. We value and respect them. We wish to share our space with quiet and mindful campers. The property is 0.5 acre. You will be parking in part of the yard, under the shade of one of the oaks, slightly tucked back away from the house. We can be available to help/welcome you, and offer local guidance if you like. **A sweet but fearful rescue dog lives here and we are not allowing any other animals to camp or stay on the property.** NO DOGS WHATSOEVER. Steph was a helpful and friendly host. She welcomed us on arrival, offered suggestions of places to eat and bike when we asked, and checked in by text to make sure we were having a good trip. Her space is beautiful and feels secluded, even though very close to downtown Sarasota. Hope to stay again.

Steph and your sweet dog Ollie, wow what a beautiful backyard you have in the middle of the city. Amazing location and a short drive to the beaches. We loved Stephā€™s little slice of paradise. Bayou Bliss was perfect for us in our Sprinter Van. The property is gated; entire yard is shady; beautiful deck overlooking the small bayou; 30amp electric; and available water. We spent our evening on the deck; quiet and peaceful. We slept well; no traffic noise, no blinding lights. Steph was friendly and accommodating. And her little buddy, Ollie (dog), was sweet. We would definitely stay here again.

Steph has the most amazing home. Beautifully landscaped. Deck to enjoy the water. Is close to everything in Sarasota and Lido Beach. Steph very nice and friendly. Very helpful with info on what to do. We will definitely go back!

Just a perfectly beautiful oasis on the Bayou. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Stephs place, surrounded by beautiful trees and plants and set up for pure relaxation. Steph is an amazing host and really made us feel welcome! We will be back. Thank you!

Close to everything but private

Close to everything but a private world away! Steph is a great host and her property is gated, secluded and beautiful. The river runs on one side and the camp spot is in the middle of bamboo and old growth trees. We needed 30 feet of electric cord to reach the outlet, so be prepared for that. Steph has plenty of hose to reach the camp spot to fill your tanks. Nearby are bike paths (right outside the gate), Sarasota Bay and nice parks for sunsets, laundry, grocery stores and plenty of restaurants. We dumped at Sarasota Lakes RV park that is a little over 4 miles away for a cost of $15.

When we drove through the nearby town Sarasota, we started to wonder how we could possible arrive at a camp spot like Bayou Bliss. But then we turned a corner into her street and opened a (very beautiful) gate to a little peace of heaven. It really is that beautiful. Steph is very welcoming and just a joy to talk with, and helped us park at a spot that was level, near electricity and a fresh water hose to fill up our tank. A very nice stop indeed. Very recommendable!

A very unique locationā€¦. Like a hideaway within the city of Sarasota. Very peaceful and private with hammock and seating areas overlooking the river. Steph was a great hostess ā€¦. Overall, a fabulous stay.

We enjoyed our stay at Bayou Bliss. Steph's site for our stay was a great spot near the river within a short distance to parks and downtown Sarasota. We enjoyed her recommendations for adventure and dining. We hope to stop by again in the near future.

This is a beautiful private level site. I spotted a blue heron from the deck on the water. The location provides easy access to Sarasota and the surrounding area. Steph is a great host and I enjoyed meeting her dog.

All went smoothly from reserving to arrival. Our stay went well. Nice quiet private spot.....not lined up next to others like so many FL state parks. Flat spot for 1 van. Shorepower & water. Nice host helpful but not overly in our face ;) sweet dog Beautiful setting

Amazing spot with a great host! Steph was super kind and communicative throughout our stay. We loved the location- felt very private surrounded by big trees and a river, yet just minutes to restaurants and the beach! Hope to come back!

Steph is an amazing host and she has a great place to camp, wow!! She looked after us, suggesting places to eat, have a drink or go to the beach. She is near downtown Sarasota and the place she has is very quiet. I would go back there anytime and I might just do that again. Thank you so very much Steph :-)

This was such a beautiful, serene little spot just minutes away from all of the great places in Sarasota/Ledo Key. Steph made me feel so welcome. I will definitely be making this a go to for when I want a more urban spot to stay and go to restaurants, gardens and arts!

Bayou Bliss, what an exceptional site downtown Sarasota, close to everything. Access to cycling path. A very peaceful place to stay, very quiet along a small river. Beyond our expectations. Steph was a very pleasant hostess, helpful and discreet. We also liked she could speak French, a plus for us. Already expecting to come back next year.

What a wonderful place to spend a few days! I enjoyed every minute of the privacy, shade, and the sound of wind in the trees, all a three-minute drive to the Van Wezel and downtown offerings. Steph was fantastic. Super helpful and fun to talk to. I canā€™t wait to come back!

Camping with our RV at Bayou Bliss was just what we need. A private and peaceful home to come back to after busy days. There was a lovely fire pit and seating by the water. Steph was a gracious hostess and shared valuable local information for our needs. Her dog Ollie was tail wagging and pleasant .

Camping in a nature paradise

Exceptional site close to downtown Sarasota, yet feels like being in a secluded botanical garden. We had an outstanding stay with a friendly host, Steph. After staying for three weeks at some upscale campgrounds, this stay beat them all. Serene, surrounded by nature, yet 15 min from the center of Sarasota by bike. We saw even a manatee going back-and-forth in the river boarding the property!

Secluded area with gate. Parking spot right next to the hostā€™s house. There is 30 amp electricity, water available, and Wi-Fi (however it didnā€™t work too great.) Host was kind and gave local recommendations. Would recommend!

Steph was a fabulous communicator with great instructions and information about what to do. The house is a couple of miles from downtown Sarasota which is a great place to visit. We took an Uber which was cheap and easy. The location is very peaceful right by a small creek where we saw tortoises, an otter and a heron. Did yoga in the yard each morning next to it. Only point could be to bring a reasonably long electric lead as the one in our rental campervan was only short.
