What’s New: Due to the aftermath of Hurricane Idalia, we’ve had to make some adjustments. But in the spirit of resilience and creativity, we’ve risen stronger. Our Campers now have the freedom to choose from one of our 8+ uniquely themed campground locations on a first-come, first-serve basis. Our 3D-printing technology is breathing new life into our woodland decorations and amenities. Our 3D-Printing initiative (courtesy of 3G-Prints) is rebuilding and expanding our woodland decorations. From whimsical fairy gardens to the newly designed Tree of Famous Faces, our campground is being transformed, one print at a time. As part of our renewed focus, we’ve teamed up with the 🍄 Mushroom Network to establish a robust mushroom genetics database. This work aids in the preservation and expansion of the field of mycology. Upon entering the Retreat, you’ll find a special area covered in high-quality landscaping fabric, dedicated to the cultivation of various gourmet mushrooms. This is an overnight psychological endurance challenge, a journey deep into the shadowed timberlands where folklore, illusion, and your imagination blur into one. Most Campers never make it through the entire night. Some don’t even make it to sunset. A brave few try… fewer succeed. Those who accept the challenge begin their journey along our Haunted Trail, a twisting, pitch-dark passage carved through thick Suwannee forest. Strange whispers, drifting silhouettes, and the eerie stillness of untouched wilderness set the stage long before you reach the remote campsite hidden at its end. Out here, every rustle feels too close. Every shadow feels too tall. Every sound feels wrong. Expect the unexpected — and then expect more. 👻 Want to Go Deeper Into the Madness? Brave Guests may choose to upgrade to our “Scared Beyond Encounter” add-on: a custom-crafted, full-immersion fear experience designed to push your limits, challenge your senses, and ensure this becomes a story you’ll tell for the rest of your life. This may involve isolation sequences, atmospheric horror effects, unexpected encounters, and psychological twists that unfold throughout the night. Safe & lovely sites near Suwannee

3G-Camping Retreat

If you're looking for somewhere quiet, safe, and straightforward to set up your camp, you've found the right spot. For my safety I have to be very choosy when I book a spot to camp alone. This was exactly the type of site I like: park close by, owner not too far away, private property, operator who gives plenty of privacy, not a ton of sites. I felt very safe the whole time and was never out if touch with civilization. Pay the extra for wifi & a potty tent--it's worth it. Lots of beautiful things to see and do in the area, and this is a perfect home base. Extremely close to Suwannee State Park. I got to see all three sites and they were equally nice.

3G-Camping Retreat

Green Grass Grove Campsite Retreat (GGGCR) is a nice choice for a laid-back, easily accessible Hipcamp in a peaceful, rural setting. Upon our evening arrival, our friendly hosts welcomed my husband and I to their property and highlighted the amenities and camp site options available to us during our stay. The grounds of GGGCR were cozy and calm. During our stay at GGGCR, we pitched our tent on a level spot nestled within the woods. Even at night, the walk-in camping plot was easily accessed from the designated parking spot thanks to well-lit pathways. The main house on the property was adjacent to the campsite, and our kind hosts provided us with access to potable water for our stay. A fire-pit was also available during our visit. The night was quiet, and we woke up refreshed and ready to explore the surrounding area the next morning. Five minutes down the road we found the Suwanee River State Park. Natural springs, limestone structures, and miles of walking trails next to a wide, flowing river made this an excellent place to spend the day. My husband and I were so pleased to find such a gem of a park so conveniently near this Hipcamp. Thank you for your easy-going hospitality, and sharing your wooded retreat with us. It was a pleasure!

The Current Trailer Site

3G-Camping Retreat

The trailer site is located at a very inappropriate spot for camping. The open barn make it not private and not attractive. We opted not to stay. However, the dispersed tent sites appear to be nicely secluded.

This was a very good deal for the price. I believe I was one of the first Hipcampers to enjoy this site. It looked recently cleared. Google Maps did not take me to the correct location using the address that was provided (it was about 7-8 miles down the road). However, Alex was very responsive and stayed with me on the phone until I pulled in to the site. Some kind of signage or landmark would be helpful for future campers. Alex was responsive again when I called about another issue the next day (a very friendly neighbor dog that REALLY wanted to go kayaking with me and kept jumping in my truck before I could pull out - Alex showed up immediately and took the dog home). The site where I stayed had been cleared by an excavator, but not smoothed out, so I spent some time leveling and smoothing the sand out to prepare it for a tent. I would bring a shovel and a hard rake if I was tent camping here again. There was plenty of firewood on site due to the recent clearing, though I still appreciated having some gathered and waiting in a wheelbarrow for me (for a nominal fee) when I arrived. The site is indeed VERY close to the Suwannee River State Park (which is on one of the most beautiful stretches of the river) and there are several other interesting springs and historic sites nearby (the former logging town of Ellaville and Suwannacoochie Springs, Suwannee Springs, Twin Rivers State Forest, etc.) The site is also close enough to the City of Live Oak to take advantage of grocery stores, restaurants, etc. It was close to the County Road, so I heard the occasional passing car, but it's not a very busy road, and it's isolated enough from light pollution to see plenty of stars at night. I wanted to be near the State Park without having to stay in a campground with the noise, light, etc. This was exactly what I was looking for - no frills at a good price. I would definitely stay here again.
