Where the Little Touches Make a Big Difference We stayed recently at Why Not Acres via Hipcamp and it was truly one of the best camping experiences we’ve had. From the moment we arrived, the place exceeded expectations. What Makes It Special • Top-notch amenities — They’ve thought of everything to make camping easy and comfortable. Our site came with kindling, firewood, charcoal, and a lighter, plus a fire ring ready to go. Such small touches make a big difference. • Spotless facilities — The shower rooms and bathrooms were immaculate. Warm water, clean, well-maintained, and plenty of space. • Friendly, welcoming hosts — Marian (and Mike) were wonderful. Warm, helpful, very responsive, and clearly proud of their land. They greet you like you’re guests in their home, not just customers. • Peace, space & nature — The property is just stunning. There’s plenty of room, beautiful surroundings. The presence of the horses adds a charming farm-feeling that’s relaxing and fun. • Convenient, but still quiet — Close enough for trips to the beach and local stores, but far enough removed so you feel like you’re getting away from it all. As with most rural/farm-type stays, bring your insect repellent. Why Not Acres is more than just a campsite—it’s a peaceful, well-cared for retreat. The amenities are excellent, the hosts are warm and helpful, and the natural setting is beautiful. If you want comfort and a sense of escape, this is definitely the place. We’ll be back.

Great peaceful place

We stayed at Why Not Acres for four days and three nights. it was very nice, the host came and greeted us, told us a little about them and the farm which is a Equine rescue and they have donkeys and horses both normal and minis and across the street is a bison farm. The shower and bathrooms were outstanding very clean and well supplied. Each site was spacious came with electric and plenty of firewood. It was peaceful both night and day. 30 Minutes from Rehoboth Beach 45 Minutes from Lewis, 6 miles from Millsboro which has several gas stations/ convenience stores along with fast food joints and a few nicer restaurants. Great peaceful place in the middle of nowhere close to a lot.

The fire pit with the top grate allowed for easy cooking with a cast iron which was awesome, and there is plenty of firewood. The sites are nice and flat, and the outdoor sink, indoor bathroom and shower were super convenient. The pond was so much fun for fishing - we caught 20+ bass and sunfish. We also got to meet the donkeys/horses which were sweet. The beach is 30 minutes away which was great to visit for the day. The only downsides we experienced were the campsites are close together without much privacy so choose #4 if you want to be furthest away. All the neighbors we met camping or in an RV were super nice though. And the neighboring chicken farm has a really bad smell when the wind blows from that direction. Other than that we thought the site was great and the positives outweighed any few negatives. We would definitely visit again when wanting to visit the beach and have the nice amenities and go fishing !

We just love staying here, it's so peaceful and quiet, the view of the fields and the ponies are always gorgeous. The beautiful 30 minute drive to the beaches is definitely worth it for the peace and quiet. Thank you for another amazing weekend Mr. Mike and Mrs. Marian!!

Why Not Acres camp site 1

This was the most amazing vacation I've ever had! Mike and Marian have the most beautiful farm, and are so warm and hospitable. The sites are situated in the trees where you're set to watch the sun rise every morning. Each site is good sized, with every amenity you will need. The bathhouse is central and such a great added feature. I was encouraged to visit the barn to see the animals, and I just can't say enough good things about this place. So close to town in case you forgot anything. I can't wait to return later this year to experience Delaware in the fall. I can't say enough good things about this place, and I highly recommend it, especially for families.

This place was lovely! Marian and her husband greeted us upon arrival to guide us to our campsite. The site was clean, spacious, and loaded with amenities like unlimited firewood, charcoal, and tinder. The bathroom at the campsite was a fully functional flush toilet that was very clean. There was a shower as well with hot water. The farm has many furry friends like donkeys and mini horses. The pond on site is also stocked with bass so lots of fun for fishing!

Camping with froggies!

It was in the perfect place, I was able to go to Bethany, Rehoboth, Ocean City, and Dewy beach all in one weekend! The drives were not bad and we were tucked away with easy access to everything! There is a beautiful pond which makes for a fun walk, and many frogs to catch! We absolutely loved our stay.

Marian’s land is absolutely beautiful and has everything you need for a perfect camping experience. The property is very well maintained, with access to electricity, cold and warm water for showers, and plenty of space to relax and enjoy nature. It’s an amazing place to stay, and I would camp here again without a doubt!

Why not Acres - RV Site 2

As soon as we arrived at Why not Acres, Marian had the red carpet rolled out for us. We arrived after dark and late so she ensured that a light was on at our site. The site was clean, flat, large, and a full hookup. It had a seating area with Adirondack chairs, fire ring, picnic table, charcoal grill with charcoal and lighter fluid, and FREE pre-cut firewood. It was exactly as advertised. Both Marian and her husband were so kind and welcoming. They provided suggestions for firework displays and water parks. It was very relaxing. The kids loved seeing the frogs. Why not Acres is close to multiple beaches and restaurants without the huge price tag. We loved our stay!

It is a great trailer. The land is beautiful. Remember you are on a farm though so bring your insect spray. We loved our stay! The hosts were hospitable.

This wa sour second stay at Why Not Acres and we had a 10/10 stay both times. Marian Mike are two of the nicest ppl in the world! Their farmette is lovingly cared for and it shows. If you are camping with an RV they have everything you need for a great experience: a charcoal grill WITH the charcoal, a lighter and starter. A campfire ring with stacks and stacks of firewood along either the kindling. Full hookups and a perfectly level parking pad. A deck with a picnic table AND umbrella. They have a pond on property where our five year old grandson learned to cast and then caught a fish: thrilling! The rescue miniature horses, donkeys and burros are so tame and friendly. The sites are very quiet and the beaches are very convenient. We love it there and cannot wait to return!

Great hosts and even better camping

Marian was great, and everything about our stay was fantastic. We had access to a bathroom and shower, unlimited firewood, charcoal, and everything you need to setup a fire. The campsite itself was shaded and peaceful, and in close proximity to the barn, and the pond. Fishing the pond was really fun, we caught several bass. Great experience overall.

This is the second time I’ve stayed here in less then a year and they never disappoint, the host is friendly, the sites are clean, well maintained and they are super friendly, 10/10 will continue to use this place when I stay in ocean city.

Great stay! Marian and Mike are welcoming hosts and have a wonderful property. It was fun to meet the miniature horses and donkeys. The trailer was clean and had everything we needed. We would definitely come back.

Truly one-of-a-kind!!

Just - amazing!!! We were spoiled! Electricity at our site (moved to 1 from 3 as there had been a lot of rain; can definitely attest that this was brilliant aforethought, Marian and Mike! Thank you!!!), a garbage can, and waterproof container of kindling. Firewood aplenty and a bathroom - a real, warm bathroom with a toilet and sink :) As well as a hot shower and sink for doing dishes! The fire pit was a set up for wood (which we prefer) or charcoal (also provided!!!). We cooked all of our meals at our site and couldn't have asked for a better set-up! It was SO quiet, it was like a dream!! Flat, level ground and many trees made it easy to pitch our tent, put a tarp over the picnic table, and set up the runner for our fur-footed family member! The boys absolutely loved feeding the animals and spending time with them each day. Plenty of space to roam and the holly forest was truly beautiful! This is definitely not just somewhere to camp, it is magical! Thank you, Marian and Mike, for sharing your piece of land and peace of mind, body, and spirit! We cannot wait to come back and visit with you again!!

Rural camp near beaches

Why Not is a wonderful RV and tent camp out in the country but also a short drive to the beaches. Firewood, grill and charcoal were all provided by the hosts. Camp sites are pristine. Will be back.

Affordable beach getaway!

Glad that we found "Why Not Acres" on HipCamp! It has been a decade since we stayed in the Rehoboth Beach area. The RV rental made it possible for us to afford a beach getaway weekend in celebration of our 27th anniversary. At the end of each day filled with food and beach adventures, we were so happy to return to our home away from home at the corner of Blueberry Lane and Raspberry Road.
