Camping at Holiday Hill was a wonderful experience! The directions were clear, and the space was well prepped. The lean-tos were a great shelter when it started to rain, and the firewood was stored in a dry space which was perfect when building the fire! We will definitely visit again

It was a dream. The kids got to play until their little legs got tired. Mini golf, basketball, pickleball, a tree swing. Perfect!
And the lean tos were great, large enough for any tent. Firewood was already there and Jesse was attentive and so nice via messaging!
Already planning our next trip back!!

We absolutely loved camping here! The lean-to’s are spacious and it was great to have the tent off the ground. Everything in the site was clean and well-equipped. So grateful to have firewood included in the reservation. The grounds were beautiful to explore and the host, Jesse, was so friendly and helpful. We would absolutely come back and bring friends next

Lean-Tos on the Hill
I loved camping at Holiday Hill. The lean-tos provided a great place to set up and enjoy the first camp of the year. The camp is beautiful and the kids must love it. There is plenty to do and great hikes in the area. Jesse was super helpful but we had all the privacy needed. I will definitely be returning.

Great spot! Jesse was incredibly friendly and the spot was fantastic. Cool trails nearby to bike or hike. Would definitely come back if in the area again.

A group of us wanted to do a camping trip somewhere that had privacy but wasn’t too in the wild. This was the perfect place! Great set up and wood being supplied was HUGE.

I don't usually pay as much as I did for a dry site, and before I got there I had some misgivings about the cost, however once I arrived, settled in and got to meet Jesse and some of the staff and learn about the camp and their mission as well as explored the offerings in the area, I had no regrets. Staff was extremely welcoming. The site itself is basic. I have a 14 ft trailer, about 8 ft wide & it fit in well between two trees and required no leveling. A larger rig would fit, however I can't say if it would be level for you and might be a tight fit. The camp road does pass directly in front of the site. The camp was not open, however maintenance staff did begin to arrive & there was traffic during the day. Therefore, depending upon the time you're here, there could be much more activity. However, if you enjoy hiking, biking or paddling, you won't be there much, so it will not matter! You can walk across the street and hike the Natchaug Reservation, where there are miles of beautiful trails! Just a couple of miles down the road there is Mansfield Hollow State Park and dam, which has AMAZING hiking trails, a beautiful 500 acre lake and paved trails to the dam should you prefer that type of stroll. The area is absolutely beautiful! The campsite was extremely quiet at night. You will hear light traffic noise during the day, however at night it disappears.
If you are a tent camper, the lean-to site is awesome! It's set up on the hill in the back, private and just a great site.

We loved the lean-to site. Lean-tos were clean and dry. The site has 2 picnic tables, a big fire ring, more than enough firewood and even a trash can, which was very convenient. We checked out the grounds and did a nice loop hike at Wolf Rock nearby. Jesse was very responsive, directions were clear and we will defintely come back if we have the chance.

This was my first time using Hipcamp, and it was a great experience. Jesse, our host, was quick to respond and easy to communicate with. The site was exactly as described and shown in the photos. I stayed at the amphitheater location, which worked perfectly for my van camping setup. The surroundings were quiet and peaceful. I’d happily stay here again.

Awesome campsite! This was our second stay here, and it was perfect again. The spot is quiet, private, and well set up with the 2 lean-tos, picnic tables, and fire pit. My family loves camping here!

Beautiful, quiet spot that’s off the beaten path. I would try to get there before dark to make it easier to find. Really nice, helpful hosts. I would stay there again , for sure!

The drive thru town and the university campus is picturesque. Jesse gave very good instructions and followed up with a map of the site. The property owner happened by when we were parking, and was also very helpful explaining where everything was. As we were only overnighting on our yearly drive South, we didn't explore the property or facilities in great detail. We had a quiet restful evening and were on our way early in the morning. The RV site was fine for our little trailer (15') but might be a little challenging for larger units.

Lean-Tos on the Hill
My husband and I visited Holiday Hill this past weekend. We were looking for some time in nature and away from the city and Holiday Hill offered that. We arrived later than planned, but the directions made it easy to find the site. We did some light hiking, walking around the cute little city, and just sitting by the fire and it was exactly what we needed! We couldn't have asked for a better or easier setup for a quick getaway.

Very nice day camp property - friendly people.
The campsite was perfect for my van and I met a fellow dog enthusiast and we helped each other with our training this morning (I learned a lot about the dog sport of carting). The Bernese Mountain Dogs were amazingly trained. I also hiked the property with my dogs yesterday - plenty of room for walking there.

Great place to camp with activities for the kiddos.
We camped at the amphitheater which gave us some shelter from the Sun and winds. Plenty of space to camp on the grounds if you like as well. Drive right up to the campsite.
The Free! Firewood was perfect as I love to watch it and cook with it!
Definitely would return and recommend to friends!

This is a really quiet spot- nestled in some trees at the edge of a large camp field. Holiday Hill is a summer day camp for children operated by the 2nd generation of owners- and they open it up in the off season. Jesse is a thoughtful host who provided great recommendations for exploring the area. The campsite is well cared for. Storrs and the UConn campus is less than 10 minutes away.
