Uncle Charlie’s Ranch
The campsites consisted of just a firepit, with no clear flat areas to camp, sleep in a tent or park. While we wanted to stay more in the wooded area in the backroad, that sites fire pit was full of trash. With the cost of $60 a night, I would have expected to have a better spot “reserved,” rather than feeling like dispersed camping next to at least 6 other campsites just in one area. Additionally, the site was within 20 feet of an ATV road, which didn’t make it feel very private or secluded. The drive into the camp felt more like a junkyard, there was abandoned cars, an active small construction site and just way more trash than expected again. The pond was very small and was not a size that one person would want to paddle board on and there were at least 5 other groups camping near the pond when we arrived so it wasn’t again private at all. Our site was a 15-20 min walk to the pond. Additionally, a group camping near us left around midnight and were loud, potentially with someone going missing and getting hurt. The sheriffs were called onsite. While it doesn’t say private on the site, we weren’t expecting SO many groups (maybe 10-12) overall? It was close to Denver but I’d suggest dispersed camping over paying so much for so little.

Perfect experience!
This experience by far exceeded my expectations. The hosts were so kind and gracious, doing all they could to ensure that I felt comfortable and taken care of. Really down to the earth sweet humans! I was lucky to stay in an upper meadow and that gave me the solitude I was craving. The property was gorgeous! I chose to do the mineral spring soak and that was an incredible experience. I would highly recommend it. Don’t hesitate to book this property, everything about it was perfect!

Uncle Charlie’s Ranch
We really enjoyed camping on Matt’s property. We opted for a secluded site with great views, and went down to the main area where there were a few sites on the water when we wanted to use the pond. He was very responsive and a great host.
