About a half mile off Highway 69 and two miles outside the tiny town of Gardner, this is the perfect retreat if you are looking for fantastic views of the Sangre de Cristos, Spanish Peaks, and Wet Mountains. Our property is close to hiking, a wolf preserve, Bishop's Castle, thousands of acres of national forest, over 800 miles of dirt roads (with jeep and ATV trails), and within 40 minutes to one of the most quaint and best kept secret towns in Colorado, Westcliffe. We are about 30 minutes northwest of Walsenburg, CO and about 40 minutes southeast of Westcliffe, CO. Maximum RV length is 30 ft. No hookups are provided for RVs so please plan to be self contained during your stay. We also offer a small dry cabin (no running water or electricity) which is perfect for those looking to not get quite as close with nature. We also offer tent camping!

This one-room rustic retreat offers a true off-grid stay—no running water or electricity—just you, the stars, and the sounds of nature. Explore walkable ATV trails right on the property, or take a short drive to scenic hiking trails, a ghost town, additional off-road routes, and even a nearby wolf preserve. We provide a limited supply of fresh water (2 gallons) for drinking and brushing teeth, along with a clean outdoor toilet. You'll want to bring your own food, gear, and cooking supplies—note that the closest grocery store is in Walsenburg, about 30 minutes away. Whether you're watching the sun set over the peaks or stargazing, this off-grid escape is designed for couples looking to unplug and connect—both with nature and each other.

Nomad Ranch Hummingbird Dry Cabin
The host was very welcoming and helpful. The cabin was perfect, it was super cozy. The location was great. I was able to go hiking and explore the surrounding areas. The cabin itself was in a beautiful spot with incredible views. As a woman who travels by herself quite a bit, I felt very safe.

The sweetest and most helpful hosts that made sure we found the site and had everything we needed. Not only did the cabin exceed our expectations but we had no idea how beautiful the view would be! 110% recommend staying here!

Truly enjoyed this slice of heaven. This a ranch in ranch country, and for those seeking beauty and solitude in the great outdoors, it is a prime spot. Robert and Angela are lovely hosts. Directions are well written and the gps coordinates provided are helpful for return trips after your day of adventures. The cabin is very comfortable with stunning views of the mountain range. Starry nights made this location extra special. On site hiking trails are great for a morning stroll to stretch your legs. The cabin is quiet and private. No noisy neighbors and no light pollution. The local area offers hiking, fishing and OHV trails you won’t want to miss. A unique amenity to the area is the SilverWest airport just outside of the quaint town of Westcliffe.
