Indulge in the charm of a custom-built tiny house nestled against a grove of Aspens. This 100% solar-powered and self-sustaining cabin is situated on 2 acres, accessible via a scenic 13-mile drive on dirt roads off Hwy 24. Since we are 100% OFF GRID we do not have a well or septic system. Bring 4-5 (5) gallon jugs of water and dump them in the tank under the sink. It's very easy and is plenty water when used conservatively. This way you will have running water. The shower itself uses 1.75 gallons per minute. If you decide to use the shower, make it quick! There is a water filling station next to the Fire Station in Florissant. You can fill up your jugs of water there. Bring a short hose. Ace Hardware has them across the street if you forget. One dollar in quarters will get you 20 gallons. IMPORTANT: Do not allow the water level to fall below 1/2 tank. You can see the water level through the tank. We've already had to replace the water pump because someone ran the tank out of water. If this happens, it's an expensive repair. The tank holds 48 gallons. There is a composting toilet. It's very easy to use. Please follow the instructions. If you are not willing to dump a bucket of your own urine under a tree when you leave, this place is not for you. It will fill up and overflow onto the bathroom floor if you are there for more than 1-2 days. Keep an eye on it and empty as necessary. There are two lofts. One has a queen bed and the other has two twin mattresses made of foam that fold in to chairs. Bring sleeping bags if you plan on sleeping in the loft! The kitchen table is flat against the wall and folds down when needed. Turn and pull out the lever on top release the table. This place is brand new and we are still working things out. There is a stool under the stairs and the box in the corner was designed to be used as a seat/ottoman. Lay out a blanket on the brand new Huge deck and bring binoculars or use our telescope (available in the summer only and located in the shed) and stargaze! Lots of things to do including hiking, paddle boarding, fishing in the summer at 11 Mile Reservoir. Go snow shoeing, rent a Polaris in Woodland Park, and snow mobiling in Buena Vista. Eleven Mile Reservoir is just a few minutes away by car. Detailed arrival and departure instructions are on our website. You will receive a guest password upon booking on how to use the unique systems in the cabin. You must agree to read it thoroughly before your arrival. This is our family cabin, not an Airbnb. You will be required to sign a a contract with a credit card for a deposit before your arrival. If you do not empty the urine bucket upon departure you will be charged a $150 cleaning fee. We have security cameras for when the place is vacant. We turn them off when there are guests for your privacy. Note: during the months of November through May, the cabin is dry with no running water. Looking to host a retreat? Contact Raemi for details at 303-975-6746This is a brand new and special Tiny House Elevation 9300 feet above sea level. You should visit our website at www.themilkywaycabin.com and read about the systems (specifically about the composting toilet and running water) before you make a booking request. This place may not be for you 😉♥️ It’s like camping, but with a bunch of amenities like a refrigerator, a full stove and oven, lights and heat. Bring sheets and pillow cases (or sleeping bags) for the beds, towels and water. We supply you with warm blankets and pillows. Relax under the aspens at the propane fire pit on the porch while you disconnect from the hustle of your daily grind. We do not have a well. Bring at least 3 five gallon jugs to fill under the sink. Don't let it get below the safety line or you risk burning out the pump which is a $300 service call for us. You are responsible for your own water supply. If you run low, there is a water filling station next to the fire station on the west end of Florissant. It is sometimes closed on weekends (randomly) It delivers 20 gallons for one dollar in quarters. You need a hose. There’s a hose in the shed Or pick one up at Ace Hardware across the street. The shower puts out 1.75 gallons per minute. You must call 303-975-6746 before we will accept your booking request. We have a composting toilet, no septic system and will go over the importance of using it properly! These off grid systems are very easy but you must follow the instructions carefully. This fun Tiny House is luxury camping. Bring sheets or sleeping bags, towels, and water. We have dishes, flatware and basic cooking supplies for you. If you use the twin mattresses in the loft for sleeping purposes bring sleeping bags as there are no sheets on them. Kids OVER 10 allowed with caution. There is a steep ladder to the loft and a propane heater on the wall with an open flame. The house is self sustaining using solar panels to bring electricity to the house. When there are several cloudy days in a row, the house will have no electricity. There are two lanterns in the house and 2 portable backup batteries you can plug your devices into if this happens. Upstairs is a comfy queen bed with an electric fireplace and TV. Bring sheets or sleeping bags. It has a warm alpaca blanket on it. In the lounge loft, you will find some games, a TV, a record player and a guitar. For chilly nights, there is a propane heater inside on the wall. It heats the entire house quickly. In the winter you can make a fire in the wood burning stove but do so at your own risk. The flu is metal and runs straight up to the ceiling next to the staircase banister. It will get piping hot. Use caution and don’t touch it. 😬 *NOTE The cabin is dry beginning November through mid May and will not have running water available. In the summer bring water and fill the tank under the sink to have running water, but do not let the water level drop below the minimum line or it could burn out the pump. 15 gallons is plenty for 2 people for 2 days if you do not use the shower. If you’re into stars and planets you can use the telescope and take amazing pictures with your phone! It feels like you’re in a planetarium. Please take extra care. If anything happens to the telescope or its parts, it’s on you! Rent the on site paddle board and go to 11 Mile reservoir- 10 miles away- the most beautiful lake dropped down in the mountains. Wi-Fi is available- Starlink works great. This is our families’s brand new cabin and we are sharing with you. Please take care!

Perfect weekend getaway
Loved our stay in this super instagrammable tiny home. The stars at night were absolutely unbelievable. My favorite place to hang out was in the hammock with a book and a beverage in hand, while my husband sweetly made dinner in the small kitchen nearby. So quiet out there and the aspen grove and nosy neighbor horses really added to our stay. We loved how remote it was yet we could easily use our all-wheel sedan to get there as the dirt roads were mostly well cared for. Will definitely stay here again someday if we are in the area! Check out Eleven Mile and Mueller State Parks nearby!

This is probably one of the most amazing places to stay on this app- the host is thorough with the logistics of everything. Absolutely amazing getaway!!! Can’t wait to come again and pin an astrological event on the calendar! Side notes for other guest: -the toilet is compost so be SURE to empty the calendar pot FAR from the house before leaving or multiple times if you’re having an extended stay -The energy is solar but be sure to unplug everything before leaving to make sure there’s no slight drain -Keep the water tank AT THE FILL LINE- if it gets below you won’t have running water for the rest of your trip Hope these side notes help some of yall out - if in doubt Google the LEAVE NO TRACE protocols etc

Cozy Tiny Home Retreat
We had a wonderful stay at this cozy tiny home in Florissant, Colorado! The place was a perfect blend of home comforts and camping vibes, nestled among beautiful Aspen trees that must look absolutely stunning in the fall. It's quite remote, which we loved because it offered lots of wildlife sightings right from our doorstep. The kitchen was fantastic for cooking, equipped with everything we needed, and the overall size of the home was just right, providing a warm, inviting atmosphere. We also went paddleboarding on Eleven Mile Reservoir, which was only a 40-minute drive away—a fantastic and easily accessible day trip. Having two TVs in the home was a great touch, allowing us to unwind with a movie at night, and the Starlink Wi-Fi was impressively reliable for such a secluded location. This tiny home is truly a hidden gem for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle and immerse themselves in nature. Highly recommend for a peaceful getaway!

The Milky Way Cabin
I recently had the pleasure of staying at The Milky Way Cabin, and it was a delightful experience that perfectly blended rustic charm with modern comforts. The cabin’s location under a canopy of aspens provided a serene and picturesque setting. It was the perfect set up for me as I was escaping in order to write and design graphics for an upcoming project. It was also great for relaxing and disconnecting from the hustle of daily life. One of my favorite moments was sitting on the porch every morning with a cup of coffee while being greeted by a woodpecker and family of blue birds. Inside, the cabin is well-equipped for a comfortable stay. Do take note that they have no well, so you have to bring in your own water, but the tank is plenty big and if filled according to Raemi’s notes you’ll be just fine. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the essentials for cooking. Also, for those wondering, the WIFI is amazing and I never had an issue. It was actually faster than what I have at home. The main highlight of my stay was stargazing in the evenings. It truly felt like you had a front row seat to our amazing galaxy. It can be a little chilly in the evening so grab a blanket or turn on the fireplace. The Milky Way Cabin is a unique and charming escape. Whether you're lounging in the loft, enjoying the serenity or exploring nearby 11 Mile reservoir, this place has everything you need for a relaxing and memorable getaway. Highly recommended!

Tiny home comforts, beautiful place
We had a wonderful getaway! If you want to experience off-grid tiny house living, this is the place! The bed was comfy, and there’s a second loft for kids, watching movies, or listening to records. Lots of windows to bring in the view of the alder forest. We brought sleeping bags to lay out on the big deck and watched the Milky Way for hours! Don’t forget to bring carrots or apples (or both) for the herd of horses that roam the meadow. Eleven Mile Canyon is nearby and stunning. Raemi was super helpful and welcoming. This is a very special place and we look forward to returning.
