Tired of people? This is where you go to get away for real. 11,200 feet. 30 miles from pavement. 3 million acres of National Forest. Bortle 2.0 dark sky — one of the darkest locations in Colorado. Elk, deer, moose, fishing, hiking, and total silence. 4x4 required. High clearance 4x4 highly recommended. It’s the real thing. The property is on 10.5 private acres in a remote alpine valley at 11,200 feet, surrounded by millions of acres of Rio Grande National Forest. One other neighboring cabin sits roughly 100 yards away but the setting feels completely private and removed from the world. The cabin on property (also available for rentals) has wifi access for guests Pets welcome. We are available by phone or message before and during your stay. Due to the remote location occasional communication delays may occur — we recommend reaching out with any questions before you make the drive in. This is a genuine off-grid backcountry experience. It rewards guests who come prepared and respect the environment.
