St. Kevin Yurt
Overall it was nice and the area is beautiful. The yurt said it was ok for 4 sleeping, but it was really tight for our 4 adults and 3 dogs. The wood stove works great (almost too well) for keeping us warm. Could use a bit more counter or shelf for cooking/doing dishes. The firepit was great. I would recommend for 2 adults or less.

This was such a great stay! This was a weekend getaway from Denver for us and we will definitely be back with our dogs. Highly recommend this stay during the fall lead peeping season. We seemed to hit it just right! The wood stove kept us plenty warm at night (even with the first few flurries of the season). The space had everything we needed and was thoughtfully put together. We had a great time sitting by the fire and then enjoying board games inside once the snow started. The only thing I would note for those visiting is that the outhouse is a bit of a trek from the yurt and the main road was pretty washed out- it would be doable, but challenging in anything other than a 4wd or SUV/truck. I’m sure we will be back, thanks for a great find!

We loved our stay at St. Kevin’s Yurt! Had everything we needed and was extra cozy with the wood burning stove. Very clean and exactly what we were looking for! Loved how quiet it was too.

Secluded, quiet, private - just as described. A thorough guest guide was provided a few days before our arrival that answered all our questions. Pretty robust cleaning requirements. Overall a good stay.

We had a fantastic stay! The location was perfect, just 20 minutes or less from both Leadville and Turquoise Lake, which made it easy to explore the area. The yurt itself was cozy, well-stocked, and exactly what we were hoping for.
As Bryce mentioned in the listing, this is more of a camping experience than a typical Airbnb, and that’s exactly what made it so special. It felt peaceful and secluded, and our dog absolutely loved having space to roam. We really appreciated the privacy and not having to worry about other people or pets nearby, though we still kept a close eye on her since you’re truly immersed in nature.
One thing to note: the road leading to the yurt is quite bumpy. Our Subaru Forester handled it just fine, but a standard sedan might have a harder time navigating it.
All in all, a unique and memorable stay, we’d definitely come back!

This yurt is in a beautiful location! Very secluded and quiet with a wonderful view. There are a couple of details that surprised me and would be helpful for future guests. 1. This is on a hillside and there is climb from the yurt to the parking spot/toilet/grill/firepit. Not a deal breaker for us but would be really hard for someone who had trouble walking or needed to access a toilet quickly. Also, carrying the waste water up the hill to dump in the toilet was a chore. The outside area feels unfinished. The upside is you are also downhill from the road and that gives a lot of privacy from passing cars and bikers. 2. We aren't experienced 4WD road drivers and that road made us nervous! Walking in would have been a true hike, it's very hilly. 3. We had three people and it felt a bit crowded. My daughter slept on the futon and her feet went off the end (she's 5'8"). I can't imagine two adults sleeping on it. The bed was fine but there are plastic covers on the mattress and pillows so even using a sleeping bag was not very cozy. We went to Walmart and bought sheets and then spread the wool blanket on the bed and put the sheet over it. We still slept in our sleeping bags but it wasn't so slippery. Luckily we brought our own pillows. I understand that this is a camping experience and I don't want to sound too harsh but I think it's useful to understand what you will experience in this location. The solitude and views are wonderful but a little work is required.

We loved camping at Turquoise Chief Yurt at Sawatch Base Camp. The views were beautiful and directions were clear. The host was very helpful and replied very quickly to our questions. The Yurt is amazing and cozy, it is fully equipped with most things needed. We travelled with a dog and a kid and they both enjoyed exploring around the yurt. The outhouse was better than expected and comfortable enough. Would definitely go again and recommend for those seeking a slightly easier camping experience.

We had a wonderful time staying in the Turquoise Chief Yurt. It had everything we needed, and the campfire sight was well stocked with wood. The pit toilet house was very clean and well supplied and maintained. I would definitely recommend this Yurt to anyone that wants to stay in that area.

Turquoise Chief Yurt
This was a delightful experience for a multi-generational camping trip. The grandparents were comfortable and not setting up a tent made it so much easier for us to support everyone. We had a great time, and will definitely be back. My husband and I would love to snowshoe in during the winter without the kids and parents.

We loved staying at the yurt! This was our second time back and it was as lovely as the first. The wood stove kept us plenty warm and the stars were unmatched. The kitchen was well equipped and check-in was easy. We can’t wait to stay again!

Beautiful winter hike to this cozy yurt! It was easy to find, a great size, very well stocked and had a comfy bed.
Bryce sent excellent written directions that we accidentally ignored…taking the longer Tennessee Creek trail instead of the Turquoise Lake trail. It honestly worked out though as it at least felt like a more gradual hike up and then we essentially made it a loop enjoying the Turquoise Lake trail coming back down with the beautiful views in front of us. The trail was groomed and easy to follow, but glad we brought snowshoes as it snowed a couple inches.

Bryce's yurt was fantastic. It's about a 4.5 mile trek in, mostly uphill, with snowmobilers driving by occasionally but it's not too bad and really pretty! The yurt was great, everything i needed and the wood stove stayed super warm. It snowed about 2 inches and was down around 0 degrees at night but I just needed a rumpl blanket and felt really comfortable. Great experience, really peaceful and beautiful, would definitely stay again

Bryce’s yurt is gorgeous! The view is amazing and the yurt is beautiful. We had a great time skiing up, cooking, and stargazing. Bryce is a great host - very kind and attentive!

We just returned from an awesome 3-night adventure at turquoise chief yurt. It's beautifully situated and well-supplied. We enjoyed the fresh powder ski loops and spectacular sunsets, along with playing games and cooking meals in the cozy space. Just a reminder to others that stocking the wood, cleaning out ashes and splitting some kindling will be greatly appreciated by subsequent guests. We came it late and needed to stock, clean and split for ourselves. We taught our kids to leave places better than they found them so they did the above and left a nice kindling teepee built in the stove, ready for the next guest to light. Hopefully others will pass it on! 😃

This yurt has it all! We had everything we needed for a cozy weekend getaway! We loved how it was very secluded yet still had phone signal and was close to downtown Leadville. The stars were incredible at night and the yurt stayed super warm with the fireplace inside. It’s clear a lot of thought and planning went into making this a great place to stay!

Turquoise Chief Yurt was amazing! Google maps navigated us right to the yurt (summertime) and our AWD cars had no trouble with the terrain. The yurt is well stocked and has a well thought out lay out and amenities. We could tell how much work the owner has put into the property. Off the beaten path, we were removed enough from civilization that the dogs could run free exploring the forest and chasing squirrels. We spent a lot of time around the campfire (in a huge solo stove!) and enjoyed amazing views during the day and at night. There was even a telescope to get a closer look at the stars! Cannot say enough great stuff about Turquoise Chief Yurt :) Will definitely be back!

My girlfriend and I had a wonderful experience at Bryce’s Yurt. The yurt was clean and had everything we needed. Our dogs were so happy to be surrounded by the beautiful trees and explore the area. Turquoise lake is just down the road and one of the most beautiful lakes in Colorado. Bryce’s yurt was the escape we needed. We will definitely be back!

We loved the yurt experience on St. Kevin’s. It is a beautiful, remote and rugged location. 4 wheel drive is an absolute! We successfully pulled a trailer to the location with a Tahoe. Great supply of firewood and kindling at hand. Perfect location for mountain biking. Camping kitchen is well equipped. Bring your outdoor chairs for Solo stove fires! Simple bedding is provided so you may want to bring your own sleep bags or quilts. (We always bring our own). Bring headlamps to add additional light in yurt. Read all fine print on Hipcamp app b4 you arrive. Very helpful read!

The road to get to the yurt is barely a road. We had an SUV and we had to go so slow and got stuck once because the roads to that yurt have been washed away and they’re huge divots. We were unable to use the propane tank because it was twisted too tight to turn it off so we were not able to make our breakfast or heat up our dinner or make coffee in the morning. we thought for the price that was a little expensive.
