Would definitely come back!

We enjoyed our stay overall and would definitely come back. The only thing I would suggest is to bring a collapsible wagon to haul stuff up the hill to the site. It’s walkable but tiring after a few trips up and down from the car 😊 It was also somewhat difficult to find in the dark. Would be helpful if instructions mentioned something like “driveway is just south of clearly marked sign for X.” Other than that, it was peaceful with beautiful views, plenty of firewood to collect, convenient to Manitou Springs/Colorado Springs. No signal at the base of the driveway but a slight signal at the actual campsite with AT&T.

Starlight Valley

Its a secluded area covered by trees that provided a good amount of shade. My wife and I liked the propane fire pit. Not sure if due to user error but it would shut off on us periodically but restarting was no issue at all. A small picnic table came in handy and there was a composting toilet that my wife appreciated a lot. The area was rocky which a bit difficult to dig in even my heavy duty stakes but held up fine. It is a private area secured by a gate. However only drawback for us was the site was close to the street. Maybe because of the Labor Day weekend it felt busy and heard cars, trucks and motorcycles thoughout the night. The moments of complete silence was very nice and the stars looked amazing. Even though it is a drive in site it is still and in-direct car access site. So for those wanting complete access to your vehicle its still a tiny hike up to the site moving gear etc. Those with roof top tents I could see having 2 areas, the parking/tent site and above a place to eat, hang out and have a bathroom.

I had a great time at this camping spot. It was really secluded and quiet. All the information I received was really helpful and made the stay super easy. There were beautiful trees everywhere and could see the stars clearly every night. The first 10 minutes of us arriving, we saw two huge bucks run across the trail from the campsite so was a great start. Would definitely recommend visiting this site.

Starlight Valley

Beautiful secluded campsite nestled in a quiet valley with huge aspen and pine trees. A private secure entrance that does not require 4-wheel drive means no one will be crossing your site. Just a quick drive to Mueller State Park for hiking. Andrew was kind to quickly ready the site for us very last minute and made sure we had everything we needed. This site is well named as the night sky was full of bright stars.

Wonderful campsite with all accommodations available as listed. The path to get down and up from the site is definitely a bit of a workout if you have a decent amount of gear, but very doable. Would definitely camp here again sometime.

We loved camping at this site! It is a beautiful location, where you feel secluded and you don’t even hear or see the other site. And the stars on a clear night are incredible! I will say that the incline from the twisted tree site up to where you park is steep and is a definite workout packing out your camping gear. But 10 out of 10 recommend, we will definitely be back many more times in the future.

Amenities galore!

This place was perfect for a birthday weekend getaway and we can attest to the fact that the canvas tent truly is weatherproof because we got some serious wind and thunderstorms our first night! The bed is crazy comfortable/warm and not needing to bring chairs or pillows/linens was so convenient! Everything was clean and well maintained, and the only wildlife we saw were birds and squirrels! The only tiny down side is the noise from the highway the site sits off of, but we will definitely be coming back again regardless! Also, it’s 30 mins from Pikes Peak and 5 minutes from Mueller State Park (we did both in one weekend)!

Amazing property and campsite!

Gorgeous campsite that’s convenient to anything you need. Very secluded and surrounded by large trees. The stars at night are absolutely amazing without all the light pollution. 😌 We came from Denver and it was an easy drive. Definitely trust the reviews when they say you MUST have a 4WD vehicle to navigate the drive in. The walk into the site is very steep, prepare for a workout. Once you’re down in the site, there isn’t much reason to leave anyway. Plenty of fallen trees and branches for the fire pit, and they even provided a camp toilet/tent and folding table. 5 stars and exactly what you’re looking for if you need to get out of your routine and reconnect with nature. The land is beautiful and so fun to explore, we saw a badger and some elk while roaming around. Book it!

We loved camping at Andrew and Elissa's land. The bed was comfortable and having the keurig inside the tent was a nice way to start the morning. With bug spray we didn't have too much of a problem with bugs.

The Twisted Tree Tent-Campsite is located in a quiet, little valley and surrounded by towering evergreens, aspen trees, wildlife and flowers. It was the perfect place for my own getaway in the mountains. There is also plenty of wood for campfires in the provided fire pit. If you're looking for a quiet and beautiful campsite, Twisted Tree is an amazing choice! The hike into camp is challenging, so be sure and pack lite : )

We loved camping on Andrew and Elissa’s property! The directions were clear and site was easy to find. Definitely need a 4x4/AWD car to access it, the road is bumpy and steep. The ridge of the Alta vista site is BEAUTIFUL, very serene and secluded. The walk up the site is steep but quite short so try to take as much as you can up with you! The hosts were so quick to respond and helpful when it came to finding good local spots, would definitely stay again!

The campsite was clean and inviting and the bed was super comfortable. The tent kept us safe and dry even through some thunderstorms and heavy rain. The poop bucket is what it is and the zip up shelter around it was really nice to have! If you’re a s’mores person be forewarned, the propane fire pit was a bit touchy and won’t really work to toast marshmallows (though eventually they will poof, it’s tricky and they won’t turn golden). Also, we found the grill to be too large to cook small amounts of food or boil water efficiently, as we were only cooking for two people and had planned simple one pot meals. If we were to return I would bring a smaller camp stove. Also, be forewarned there was standing water and plenty of mosquitoes, as well as black flies this time of year. They didn’t seem to care much about bug spray, so we didn’t spend much time sitting in the camp chairs or at the picnic table, but the tent was a great spot to hang to escape them. The hosts were super communicative and helpful throughout the lead up to our stay and greeted us on arrival and were very accommodating. We even managed to stay up late enough to catch some beautiful stargazing opportunities. Thanks for the great spot!

We had a great time staying here for 1 night with 2 adults and 2 children. Could easily stay longer. Nice and secluded and surrounded by aspen trees. Plenty of fire wood laying around for the fire pit. Pro tip: bring as much down from you car with you the first time down. Trips back up to the car can be tiring.

The campsite was excellent, great location and easy to find. The bed in the tent was very comfortable and the small battery/generator came in handy. That was a very relaxing much needed trip.

10 outta 10, highly recommend!

Great setup all around! Would definitely recommend. They thought of it all. The mattress was very comfy and the down comforter kept us warm on a cold October night. Close hiking just a mile away. Be aware, the road traffic is a bit louder and constant than we imagined but didn’t take away from the great stay.

Besides it being a bit rainy it was a very nice place to stay for the night. The bed was comfortable and the firepit was nice and inviting. Across the street from the tent is a horse farm so we got to see those as well
