With views of magnificent Pike’s Peak and surrounded by over 350,000 acres of Pike National Forest, soak in the beauty of the Rocky Mountains while you relax in your cabin or RV site. We offer a taste of the real old west at our famous Old West Colorado guest ranch. Listen to the sounds of the wind through the Ponderosa Pines, Elk bugle echoes through the hills, howls of coyotes in the distance, deer moving nearby. It's peaceful but never silent. Come visit the ranch’s 115-year history. Started as a homestead back in 1906, M Lazy Ranch is now a thriving guest ranch and cowboy playground. This original Thatcher home built in 1906 has been remodeled for today’s modern traveler. The cabin features two bedrooms, 1.5 bathrooms, and sleeps, 6-8 people. Guests sleep in one queen-sized bed, a pull-out couch two twin beds that each have a trundle twin as well. This cabin is fully furnished, with linens, a full kitchen w pans, plates, utensils, etc, and a full-sized washer/dryer. You will want to be sure to bring your own toiletries. (2-night minimum). We have 2 bunkhouses to offer larger groups/family that can hold 12 people in each. Price includes 6 beds. Add on beds available. Bunkhouses contain 2 showers and a full bath. Lovely setting, very tranquil and very authentic working ranch. The grounds themselves could use a little work. Grass was way too long in public areas and playground area. Trash in fire pits and in general it needed cleaning up. The fire pits had not been cleaned. Not sure about amenities as I arrived for a overnighter in the tent area. Signage on sites were hard to find.

We loved trailer camping at M lazy C. The campsite was so beautiful, quiet, and peaceful. We wished we could stay longer and hope to return!! Although we don’t have horses, it was really fun to see all the beautiful horses on the ranch and hike around on all the trails with our little dog. Can’t wait to go back!

Primitive camping area was great. I was there on a Saturday night and it was nice and quiet. Sunday night was even quieter. It’s nice that primitive camping can use the bathroom facilities. Will definitely try and stay again.

Our family had a great time camping with our travel trailer. The rv site was well maintained and the ranch is beautiful. We had fun playing horseshoes and trying to rope. Our teenage daughters used the bathhouse and it was clean and well maintained. Staff was very responsive and helpful. The property is close to hiking trails, and there are rivers and reservoirs nearby. We loved it!

Tent camped. Liked: property had tons of amenities ie horseback riding, shooting range, flush toilet, shower, large property, quiet at night, properly priced. Very dog friendly. Tent campsites: several nicely shaded sites, a few others appeared overgrown. Most didn’t have fire pits but ours did. We had site 55 and we think it was the best for shade/flat/campfire. A few sites felt pretty close to one another. With three other sites filled it was still quiet and tranquil. We enjoyed watching horses in the morning and stargazing at night. Would recommend :) Ps: you may hear coyotes late at night!

Jackie made this experience really amazing. She allowed us to feed the horses when I shared that we had never done that before. The site itself was perfect, but because it’s first come, first served we had our choice of any spot which probably made a bit of a difference! But all of the spots looked nice and clean. Such an incredibly beautiful place to stay, and we would absolutely recommend it and will be staying here again soon!

We had an amazing time stay on M Lazy C’s land. We found it as a quick find just to stay for a night and realized how amazing it was and wished we stayed for two nights. It was easy to find, simple check in process, and has amenities. We stayed in the primitive site, which had a picnic table and a fire pit. We got access to the bathhouse and hot tub. They even offered horseback riding lessons, which we signed up for last minute and it was so much fun!

My daughter and I chose this camping location at the very last minute and it was perfect. The ranch is tucked away amidst national forest and has a lot of good hiking. There are horses and we hope to return for a trail ride. The hostess was friendly and helpful. We had a great weekend there and definitely plan to visit the ranch again soon.

Hosts were incredibly kind and welcoming, and the dude ranch is beyond cool. Be aware that the temp camping area is marked with markers in the 50s- they do not correlate at all to what's posted here on HipCamp, just get in where you fit in. I figured this out pretty quickly, but it may confuse others- so wanted to make sure I annotated it. Unfortunately, my maybe is due to the fact that NONE of the amenities I wanted to do while I was there were available. The sauna was completely disassembled/inoperable, and the hot tub had a high level of chlorine treatment in it, making it also unusable. The rec room had no working TV- well, the TV "works", but it's not connected to cable, nor does it have a DVD player (despite having several movies in the case). It's just a standalone, older TV, so you can't do anything. Newer TVs have wifi enabled at least, so you can use apps such as Netflix, Hulu, etc on the TV itself. Recommend maybe upgrading to a new unit with that, if possible. Wifi is available, and random games with missing pieces. Overall, I -may- come back in future, but I won't be in any particular rush.

Great getaway

We stayed at a primitive camp before the busy season. The site was peaceful and quiet, while still offering hot showers, a flush toilet, and a rec center with a microwave, coffee pot, and bottled water, plus billiards, TV, and lounging chairs for a good book in a cool historical building. Our schedule didn’t allow us to enjoy some of the activities that the ranch offered, but it looked like a fun 1-3 day getaway. No check in or checkout was needed for the primitive site when we stayed. It would have been nice to have the bathroom code texted to us beforehand. New owner was cool to chat with. 5/5 would stay again.
