Was a great spot not too far from town but still very peaceful! The last part of the road wasn't too bad very manageable but if it rains you would definitely need a 4x4.

The campsite is huge, peaceful, with great views and beautiful surroundings. I had such a wonderful evening star gazing and listening to the coyotes in the distance. It also felt very safe given how it is tucked down a long dirt road.
However the bushes do need to be trimmed on both sides so you don’t end up with “country pinstripes” and the road is fairly rough. But it’s a beautiful setting and well worth the rough drive in!

Ben’s land is absolutely stunning and is 100% worth the stay. We managed to make the 1/4 mile trek to the site in a 2WD Ford Fusion, but I would recommend a vehicle with more clearance. It was private, clean, and safe. Make sure to pack in whatever you need as you’ll probably want to stay put once you get there. A++ Host and site!

Beautiful remote spot! A bit challenging to drive out from after a big overnight storm. We almost got stuck in the mud coming out in our AWD. I let the host know and he said he’ll take care of it so it shouldn’t be a future issue. Super responsive communication. Not his fault with the surprise monsoon!

A beautiful spot to camp. Lovely views very quiet, although on occasion there was a hum from the electric station. About 13-15 min from downtown Durango. Easy drive. Great location!

We totally enjoyed our stay at grizzly peak. It was kind of like dispersed camping because there are no amenities like water, toilet, or electricity. The short right in on a dirt trail is kind of sketchy. But the campsite is in a beautiful place. It is quiet, clean and there is a picnic table. It is fairly close to Durango.

Nice site that felt far-away from the maddening Durango crowds. Simple setup but all we needed to have a good rest. Could use a little weed-whacking on the “driveway” but clean and well tended otherwise.

Camping at Grizzly Peak Ranch was beautiful!! A little bit of a rough 1/4 mile to the good spot, but not bad and so worth it! Camp is very well kept and the sights are something else!

The VIEWs and the relative solitude were amazing! Our awd "street" suv handled the road easily. The fire area was inviting but alas, the wind was too strong to safely build a fire that night. Awakened to Quail talking. Would definitely return!

We had a wonderful stay at Ben’s Grizzly Peak Camp. There is a beautiful view of the mountains and you aren’t too far away from town. The dirt road is a bit rough but my Subaru made it as well as my boyfriend’s truck pulling a utility trailer. It was so peaceful and quiet. Our first Hipcamp experience and it set the bar high. You won’t regret calling Grizzly Peak camp home.

Awesome views, very secluded with no traffic noise.

Perfect pit stop on the way from point a to b. Didn’t want to fight the crowds of the holiday weekend at some of the public spots, and this was a great, peaceful, and beautiful spot to make some dinner at stargaze!

Beautiful, secluded spot with a mountain view! The space also had a picnic table, fire ring, and plenty of room for a couple tents. Just 15 minutes from Lake Nighthorse and downtown Durango.

Overall the camp spot was great! Direct view of the mountains and very private.
We didn't have any issues driving to our spot, however, the tall grass in the middle needs some trimming. We were a bit worried about starting a grass fire driving over it in the heat. Also, there were some dogs in the area that were barking throughout the night which kept waking us up.

Absolutely beautiful! The whole area was silent and the views were amazing. If you can, I’d highly recommend going to the spot they suggest. Ben was also very nice and answered our question quickly.

This spot is so lovely: the views are incredible, it’s super quiet but *so* close to town, nice high desert flora (sagebrush piñon woodland), and the spot Ben recommends feels completely private & secluded (we saw no one). Directions are great.
There is a perfect spot for rooftop tent camping (parking spot is on an incline but if you back in it’s miraculously level) with also a couple of pretty level spots for tents if you’re doing that. We loved being able to leave a bunch of camp things out without having to worry about safety things like in centralized camp grounds. Will definitely look this spot up on future trips to Durango!

Bens campsite was awesome. Excellent views, super quiet, and very remote. My 20ft travel trailer was easy to get in on the rough road, just take it slow! TMobile 5G is great and Starlink is also great as there are not many obstructions. Ben was super responsive and his directions were spot on.

Great little spot! It’s close to town. It’s on a private ranch so you have the whole little area to yourself. My dogs had a blast! They were able to explore and I not worry while my bf and I sat by a fire and enjoyed the Mountain View :) 10/10 recommend if you just need some space to relax with silence and beautiful stars.
