I also own the house and land adjacent to this parcel (see photo with yellow marked area for camping use) and lived there for 7 years with my kids - my ex now lives there. I knew every inch of this property and played with my kids on the land regularly, and they ran around it virtually every day.  If you are in good shape, it will be a breeze to hike to the top, if you are slightly out of prime shape, you'll find that the 8600 foot elevation, and the steeper parts of the land, will offer you somewhat of a challenge. I've mentioned the wildlife, but not to scare you...in all those years of hiking this land, I never ran across any - I heard them all, and have seen all the non-scary ones except a momma bear and her cubs, who just took off when my dog barked once (still, please use caution with your food to avoid a bears stealing it! They are common trash thieves!). Deer and elk are often seen on the road in the early mornings (just before dawn), fox and coyotes are also early morning visitors. This was one of my favorite places ever! Unfortunately, I now have to live in Denver for work, so you get to play on my land! At the top you may run across and old hunting blind - it's been there for many decades. The original house (where I lived) was built in 1902 and was a very small hunting cabin with no plumbing or electricity - when you drive passed it, take look up, it has come a long way! FYI, you will not have cell service up there, a quick 2 miles drive to the corner where the stables are, will get you back in touch with the outside world should you need to reconnect.
