Double Rose Ranch

This campsite will take your breathe away. Located right in front of needle rock and surrounded by beautiful mountains, it was truly a beautiful place to stay. And only 20 minutes from Black Canyon of the Gunnison and an hour-ish away from Grand Junction! The land owner, Jessica, gave us a warm welcome and did a great job accommodating us as her guests. She set up a nice table to eat at in her rustic barn, brewed us fresh coffee in the morning, and took us on a tour of her farm animals. We got to pet her beautiful horses and feed the silly goats. Overall, my girlfriend and I had a really great time and we'd definitely camp here again.

Jessica's ranch is incredibly beautiful! The view of Needle Rock is stunning, and being able to wander around and say hello to all the horses was so fun. The dogs are definitely really friendly and rambunctious. Like another review said, if you're not comfortable with dogs jumping on you, this might not be the spot! But we loved them. A pretty fire pit spot and creek.

Perfect Spot to Celebrate!

Jessica’s property was absolutely gorgeous! I took my husband to celebrate his belated birthday, and we had the best time exploring the land together and having a picnic outside of our glamping tent. Jessica set up our tent with the coziest linen, which was so nice for a chilly evening. We’re so grateful for our stay at Double Rose Ranch and hope to return!! Thank you, Jessica!

An ethereal wonder

What a spectacular place to visit. The Double Rose Ranch was the most peaceful and stunning campsite on our week-long journey in the Colorado Rockies, and Jessica was an amazing host. When we arrived to find the driveway to the property blocked by a fallen tree, Jessica responded promptly to our text and helped navigate around the obstacle. She then led us to the beautiful meadow below the barn and along the river, which had a breathtaking view of the 800' tall Needle Rock, and introduced us to her gregarious dogs Shiloh and Biko. We spent a very tranquil evening watching the ever-changing starry sky and the moonlit mystical obelisk.

We stayed for two nights and loved it! It’s a beautiful property with a gray view of The Needle. Jessica was a wonderful host and her hospitality made us feel right at home. I highly recommend this property! Great dogs and horses too!

The property is absolutely stunning. I couldn’t stop taking photos from our campsite of the beautiful landscape. Jessica was very friendly and helpful and made our stay comfortable. Her two dogs were super friendly and fun to hang with and the cooking facilities in the barn were a life saver. A little slice of heaven. Would love to come back here!

Site 5 - Rocky Mountain Ranch Paradise.

Jessica is a fantastic host and makes sure your stay goes as smoothly as possible. The ranch has a fantastic view of the Needle Rock and has a special feel to it. My site was a little rugged but was a great spot with privacy and unspoiled nature. The barn has a communal space with a table and chairs, couches, and food prep spaces. It's a great place for hanging out, having a meal, or escaping the elements.

Slice of simplistic heaven!

The Double Rose Ranch is a slice of simplistic heaven. Arriving in the early evening, I was warmly greeted by Jessica, the owner and enjoyed the serene sight of horses grazing in the pasture. The atmosphere was inviting and tranquil. With its beautiful sunset and sunrise views, I would highly recommend this place to anyone seeking a relaxing getaway.

Absolutely gorgeous piece of land. Many different spots along the property where you can set up camp. Every spot is truly beautiful so it really doesn’t matter where you stay. Property has a nice barn to store all the things you need to keep in a fridge. Dogs were super friendly and enjoyed being around us while they were out. The water in the creek area is decently cold but if you’ve ever taken a cold shower it’s pretty much the same. Jessica is very nice and helped us a lot with understanding her land and telling us places to check out in the local towns. 100% recommend anyone looking for a place to stay

Overall was a nice place, the pictures kinda seem like you will be camping right next to the creek which isn’t necessarily the case. You have to take a path through the woods to a small access area. The owner did let her two dogs roam free with us for a lot of our stay which we enjoyed as dog lovers but something to consider. We enjoyed our stay!

Jessica was so welcoming & had a unique and beautiful property to host campers. She had great suggestions for activities & food in the local area. The amenities were just as described & while the site is best for traditional tent campers, she was able to accommodate a spot with great valley views for us to park our 4Runner with rooftop tent.

Beautiful night skies!

We had a beautiful night tent camping at the ranch. The ranch is in an international dark sky area, so we got to see awesome views of the Milky Way and loved how quiet and remote the spot was overall. Waking up to a sunrise under Needle Rock was a special bonus as well!

Such a beautiful place, absolutely magestic. Lots of wildlife and gorgeous nature all around. I grilled some food over fire at the fire pit and felt like I was in a dream. Jessica is super kind, helpful and welcoming. I got to borrow some of her kitchen appliances and we had a lovely chat. She’s great! Totally recommend, would stay again.

Jessica was super friendly and gave us plenty of options on where to pitch our tent, and we chose the upper meadow that had great views of the Needle and the Crawford area. One thing to note is that there are no prepared campsites- you just pitch your tent wherever there's grass. There's a clean porta-potty and a communal space in the barn with many accommodations (fridge, kettle, dining table, chairs).

Can’t say enough great things about Jessica’s place! Such a beautiful unique space you can’t get any closer to needle rock than this. There were two other groups on the property with us and we didn’t run into them at all once our sites were setup. My boyfriend and met up with some friends at black canyon but would’ve loved to stay put another night if not. Stopped at the town of paonia on the way in as well to avoid some minor rain cutest hidden gem I’ve never heard of highly recommend the brewery at the end of Main Street. We will be back as soon as possible to Jessica’s place!

Site 5 - Rocky Mountain Ranch Paradise.

Wow! This is one of the most amazing pieces of land I have ever seen in Colorado. Sleeping under the stars, next the the creek and waking up under Needlepoint Rock was breathtaking. Jessica is so sweet and has great recommendations for your stay and help with whatever you need. Her sweet dog is an added bonus! With water, fridge, tea and coffee, and toilet available, it really is the best of both worlds—secluded camping with lots of amenities. My husband and I had the best time and would recommend Jessica’s stay to anyone!! We already want to go back.

Needle Rock bliss

We loved tent camping on Jessicas amazing property. Beautiful views of Needle Rock next to a running creek made evenings very relaxing. She also had a solo stove on the property and luckily it had rained and we were able to light a campfire during our stay. She has an indoor bathroom and a barn with tables and a fridge. She also had a sweet dog who came to check on us the second night. 10/10 would recommend!
