Welcome to our charming 2-acre farm nestled in East Boulder with a view of Long’s Peak. Just minutes from town - near road biking trails, shopping and restaurants. A great pitstop on your way to the mountains - or base camp for a few days in the Front Range. HEADS UP: The mosquitos are killer right now!! We have a 4 meter canvas tent complete with a queen sized bed, chairs, and a wood burning stove. We have spots along the fence line for most types of motorized travel: motorhomes, vans, trailers, teardrops, rooftop tents, motorcycles. Lots of space for ground-dwelling tents. The grounds are a bit sloped but I provide leveling boards. You will have neighbors, as our setup is literally an open meadow. We can handle RVs around 45 feet in total length - truck and trailer. It’s a big field, but a narrow, winding and steep ramp to get in and out. If you are a nervous driver, perhaps choose another place to rest your head. If you are a great driver, you can go even bigger. We have a community fire ring with a big pile of free burn wood, though the big logs are getting few and far between; bringing your own firewood is recommended, as well as an ax or saw If it's windy, please skip the fire... the BFD is very strict about this!! We have well water feeding a solar shower (only hot when the sun shines) and sink - non potable. We have a cold water wading pool continually refreshed from the creek. It’s a saving grace in the summertime. Please no chairs in the pool - they will tear the floor. We have fresh eggs at the coop. Watch out for the rooster. The chickens free range during the day, so PLEASE keep an eye on your dogs… leash if necessary. Our toilet is a porta potty, pumped clean every Thursday. THE GOOD: *Easy in and out location close to town *Lots of sun *Outdoor solar shower *Cold water wading pool *Fresh eggs *Good view of small airplanes *Community fire ring THE BAD: *Mosquitoes!!! (bad right now - come sunset they may carry your firstborn away) *Daytime road noise *Small airport nearby *No Generators *Almost zero shade *Shower only hot when the sun shines - almost zero privacy *Good Morning Rooster *5 day max stay Please reach out with any questions you may have. Tucked away on the eastern side is our walk-in tent area. Its a wide open meadow with lots of space. I've got a 9' umbrella at each site to provide a wee bit of shade. Please park bumper into fence between the signs in the designated “walk-in tent parking” area. If you would like to camp right next to your vehicle, please reserve one of our VAN spots.

The western most corner of our meadow is reserved for larger RVs, as that is where the ground is most firm. It is easily accessed at the bottom of the entrance ramp. Please tuck yourself in nice and cozy in the corner there all to yourself. We can handle big RVs, but you need to be a confident driver. The road in and out is a steep and winding gravel driveway. If you are a lightweight vehicle towing a heavy trailer and you stop halfway up, you may not get going again. That’s only happened once, but it did happen. The trick is open the gate before you head uphill, and don’t stop! In fact, it’s a rule. I’m sorry but we don’t allow generators, no exceptions. They are simply too obnoxious for everyone else. I’d be happy to discuss with you how best to upgrade your rig to solar power. Trust me, it’s worth it. If you are a van, a rooftop tent, a popup trailer, a teardrop trailer, a motorcycle or a ground-tent dweller, we have those spots available too, and they are a few bucks cheaper.

The mid-section of our meadow fence line is reserved for vans, rooftop tents, popup trailers, teardrop trailers, and folks who want to “car camp”. Park bumper into the fence directly in front of one of the VAN signs. We’ve got leveling blocks right there for you, feel free to use them… also please leave them behind when you depart. If you are a bigger RV / trailer, please reserve our designated RV spot. If you are a ground tent dweller, you can reserve our walk-in tent spots, or grab one of these for car camping.

JOURNEY TENT

Nested among waist high meadow grass in the summer, and snow in the winter, sits our 4 meter waterproof canvas tent. Complete with a queen sized bed, electric fans, USB charging, wood burning stove, chairs, and solar lights, it offers gentle respite and unparalleled convenience to Boulder. It’s a tent in the middle of a Colorado meadow, so expect a bug here and there. Swat mosquitoes to your hearts content, but please try to be nice to the spiders. They are friendly and eat the nasty bugs. If you can’t ignore them, holler at me and I’ll remove any who moved in since I cleaned it last. None of them bite. Historically, this was a site for ancients to do journey work. We honor that tradition with guided experiences. Inquire with us about a guided journey. Make sure to bring your own bedding, as only a clean fitted sheet is provided. On warm days the tent gets hot in the sun but stays cool at night; makes for a great night’s sleep but a warm afternoon nap. Two electric fans are included and do a decent job when you stick one in an open window. In winter the sun does a good job providing warmth, and a small wood-burning stove does the rest. Watch out for small children and pets re the stove. It gets hot! We allow dogs on a case by case basis: you must accept a small per pet cleaning fee (max two), participate in honest communication re damaged / peed upon items - and consent to their replacement at your cost. A real vibe. Great location and the other campers were so friendly it felt like I was camping at a little festival or something. The host helped us to figure out the shower early in the morning, and it was a really peaceful atmosphere.

Patrick is a great guy, very welcoming. We had a chance to Barbecue together, and it was a blast. Also, the nightly group camp fires are great! A bit close to the road, so if you're looking for very quiet accommodations you may not find them here, but the fresh eggs from the chickens and the hospitality definitely make up for any shortcomings. not super crowded and a nice space overall. Would stay with Patrick again!

Stayed here on my way to the Rocky Mountains after leaving the sand dunes, It was super simple on arrival, there was a very clean porta-potty, showers, fresh eggs, and a nice fire pit!! I really enjoyed a quick night out here especially if ur traveling through Denver just for a day or so. Be mindful of bugs, there were quite a few mosquitoes but nothing a little bug spray can’t handle!

We really enjoyed camping at Patrick’s chicken farm! The chickens were really neat! Patrick was a great host! It’s a great spot for a good nights sleep. Patrick was super accommodating for all of our needs. We would not hesitate to stay here again.

This was a great camping spot with a lot of thoughtful touches. The community fire pit was a cozy highlight, and the lighted path to the bathroom made nighttime trips much easier. I also loved watching the free-roaming chickens—they added a fun, quirky charm to the experience. That said, one thing to be aware of: the mosquitoes were intense during my stay. Once my tent was set up, it was tough to spend much time outside without getting swarmed. It didn’t ruin the trip, but it’s definitely something to be prepared for. Overall, I’d absolutely consider coming back—just with better mosquito protection next time. I’d still recommend this spot to others, but do yourself a favor and pack some strong repellent!

Directions to entrance was clear, I had no problems coming or going. The location is proximal to so much good stuff, and the spot itself is very well maintained. It’s an open field so expect to have some neighboring campers. Hope this location is as good to the next camper as it was to me.

The Perfect Spot Outside Boulder!

Had a great stay at Patrick’s ranch! Located right outside of Boulder with quick access to lots of trails and the city. Pat greeted us shortly after arriving, was very welcoming. Ended up staying another night it was such a great spot! Absolutely would recommend and thank you again!

10 stars!! Patrick is the man, truly one of the most gracious humans I have met and eager to make your stay the best it can be. I moved to CO from out of state and this was the place I landed initially, booking a tent site for a week while I started my new job. While at work one day, a huge storm came through and I had left my rain fly wide open to the elements! Coming home to expect a soggy situation, I was grateful beyond relief to find everything battened up. If you book a stay here, definitely make it a priority to meet the hosts, you don’t get more down to earth than Patrick and Brook. I’m coming back for a weekend sometime soon!

Great communication and nice quiet grassy spot that’s a great launching spot for so many activities. The spots were mostly level and there were 2x6s at each spot to help if needed. The porta-potty onsite was clean and maintained. Good stop and would stay again.

My husband and I enjoyed camping in the Journey tent!! We stayed there for one night and it was very quite and peaceful! They keep everything very well maintained and clean. I would definitely recommend camping here if you are needing something close to the boulder area. The directions were very clear and easy to follow!

Patrick was a wonderful host. When we arrived, one other camper was there, but since there wasn't an RV reservation the first night, we were able to move over to the RV site for more privacy. The bathroom was spotless and lit in the evening. The solar lights he had were beautiful at night. The next day, I let him know we were going to be out for the day and wanted to check if there were any RVs coming.l so we weren't in the way. He said there was one and offered to move our stuff for us so we could head out earlier. He had been so accommodating and we moved our stuff over to the tent site location. We got the half dozen of eggs which were amazing- made for great breakfast burritos. It was so nice to see the chickens and to meet his dog. The location was close to Boulder so we were able to get some quick dinner and only about an hour from Rocky mountain national park. He was accommodating, quick to respond to messages, and a great host. We did a walk around the area to leave it better than we found it and we'd absolutely stay again!

A very well maintained site that's close to town in case you need supplies but also feels further away so you have privacy. Really enjoyed this site and all the amenities included, having a fire at night is always a good time and the solar lights they put up around the site are a nice touch. Makes getting up at night and traversing the site alot easier. Overall a great experience.

JOURNEY TENT
We had a great time at the Journey tent and would come back! It was our first camping experience with a baby but it was still quite comfortable. The stove inside the tent made all the difference, and the bed was pretty comfortable. There were others camping around but although they were close, we couldn't hear them. We opted for coffee in the morning and picked eggs from the coop. There was no shade around, maybe on a different season the trees around do provide some, but not in April. Patrick was super kind and quick to reply. If you want to go on a trail you need to drive there. There are little farms around and it’s close to anything you would need so that’s convenient! Overall it was a pretty cool experience!
