Spacious, level camping well-suited for travel trailers over 40 ft long.
Agri-tourism on a historic, 124 year old family farm. Wander the 20 acres of almond trees and learn about modern farming practices on a certificated silver-level sustainable farm. Spread out and relax in the shade of the open barn cooled by daily breezes. Parking is secured and well off the road for privacy. One and a half miles from huge RV Country and Camping World dealerships for getting needed repairs and supplies. Conveniently located at the vortex of highways CA99, CA180, CA41 and CA168. One hour east on CA180 puts you in the big trees of Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Parks. One and a half hours north on CA41 puts you in Yosemite National Park. One and a half hours NE on CA168 puts you at Huntington Lake the #1 destination for high alpine sailing. Water is provided with an excellent situation with tall ladders and water pressure to rinse off the road dust on your RV. Electricity and sewage are negotiable.Pull through with easy access and egress and park well off the street behind the barn on our 124-year-old historic family farm. Wander through 20 acres of almond trees that were described by an ag professional as the most beautiful almond orchard he has ever seen and is the envy of farmers and city-folk. Spread out and relax in the large open-air barn that is naturally cooled by prevailing breezes. Many photo ops on the tractor and relics of old farm implements. The ground is packed soil and so level that leveling your rig will probably not be needed. There is so much pressure from the ag pump and 18 ft ladders that we encourage you to rinse the dust off your RV. This is a working farm, so the owner will be present most days and would love to discuss his progressive modern farming practices and relate the history of the area. We are less than 2 miles from two large commercial RV sales and service businesses with gas stations and restaurants nearby. You are one hour away from Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Parks and one and a half hours away from Yosemite. Above all, we provide security and privacy.

Woody Farms: hard wood, big nuts
Enjoyed Big Nuts
'Hard Wood Big Nuts' quickly got our attention when looking for an overnight stay on our recent Cali trip. Spending the evening on a working almond farm ended up being a really interesting stop! Tad Woody exemplifies the epitome of hospitality - welcoming us with fresh eggs, ice, and helping us get situated into a great spot. Tad's knowledge of the in's and out's of farming were welcome, as was his intuition to know when to just leave us be to recharge from a full day on the road. In that we were the farm's first HipCampers, we were able to give a little constructive feedback to ensure future campers have an equally enjoyable stay. Muted train whistles in the distance continued intermittently through the evening, however we weren't particularly bothered by it - it really added to the charm.
