In the south coast redwood forests of Big Sur along Plaskett Creek there is a wild land waiting for you to explore it and yourself. Take in the grandeur of the forest canopy, the lush blankets of sorrel and the sound of the creek rippling through the woods. Laze in the grassy meadow, enjoy a bath in the creek or chop wood and enjoy a campfire in our heart-shaped fire ring. Encounter birds, butterflies, squirrels, deer, lizards and many other creatures on your hike to Puma Point with the most spectacular view of Sand Dollar Beach and the rugged Big Sur South Coast. Wilde Big Sur is a pristine hideaway tucked in the Redwood forest along Plaskett Creek. This is a 1/4 mile hike in/hike out property. All gear will be brought by guests up the mountain. Backpacks are highly recommended. All guests must be in good physical condition to hike up the mountain with their belongings. Guests will experience some strenuous activity getting to the property and accessing different areas on the property. Additionally, the property is off grid. Resources here are important and scarce. The water we use is directly from the creek and we filter it twice. We must be very careful with our waste water, so please do not bring soaps, lotions or skin oils. We use solar and generators for power, and conservation of power is important so we can turn on lights at night and make coffee in the morning. There are two composting toilets located 100 yards away from the creek as is required by CA law. It is a significant hike uphill to access the composting toilets. The Lotus skydeck is located another ¼ mile hike up the canyon, and there is a longer loop hike with steep trails to Puma Point with spectacular views of Sand Dollar Beach. Wilde Big Sur is located just across from beautiful Sand Dollar Beach - so we have the coastal influence and canyon shadows at play throughout the day. Layers are best, it can get warm for a short time and by sunset it can get cold and misty. Big Sur is known for the mist, so soak it in! Solitude abounds on this land. We need the land, and the land needs us. Bring your worry, your anger, your fear, your stress, your doubt, your regret - offer it to the land. Mother Gaia can take it. She knows how to process energy. She filters it, recycles it and transmutes it into wind, fire, rain - into beauty. Our tears become the streams and eventually the waves of the ocean. Allow yourself to feel deeply here.

Creekside 1 Campsite
11 out of 10
I had such a wonderful, relaxing time solo camping at Wilde Big Sur this week. The location is right in the heart of the most breathtaking part of Big Sur. One day I even took my bike up Carrillo Hwy - once in a lifetime opportunity because there were so few cars! The property is extraordinary, with towering redwoods and Plaskett Creek running right through the site. The creek was extra full from all the recent rain and offered a nice 24/7 white noise backdrop. And the banana slugs were a reminder I wasn’t in Kansas anymore. The clawfoot cast iron tubs nestled among all this rugged nature were an unexpected bonus, as they had instant hot water! I spent many hours in the tubs, soaking away my worries. The outdoor kitchen was all I needed, with a clean fridge, 3 huge burners, a sink and reverse osmosis drinking water. Remember to pack light - this is not “car camping.” Jill was a very gracious host, explaining the story of the property and checking in just enough to see if I needed anything. Shane was also a joy to meet. I got to know them both a bit, and I gotta say they’re the real deal. Two beautiful, really authentic humans who put in the work to nurture the land and their guests. I hope to return soon and bring others. Thanks again Jill, it was an experience I won’t soon forget.

Puma Point Oceanview 3/4mi. Hike in
This spot is unnreal, full stop. The camp is an incredible mix of professional and chic with plenty of wild and untamed moments. Make sure you’re fit and ready for a steep (but breathtaking) hike with your gear if you pick the high site, but anyone could make the other spots on the site without issue, and they’re all worthy. The only downside to staying here was that my hikes in big sur were underwhelming because none of them could match the physical beauty of what I had back at the site! Definitely snag this spot if you can

Yurt - Sleeps 2 or 4
Yurt glamping with outdoor baths!
This place is incredibly special, and we loved staying here! Beautiful redwoods, rushing stream, a yoga deck, a hike with a view of the coast, and best of all -- AMAZING outdoor bathtubs. See below for some practical things (although I would check with the host to make sure this is up-to-date). What was provided: - outdoor kitchen with basic cooking stuff, dishes, silverware, and a fridge - firewood - toilet paper - outdoor shower with shower basics (shampoo) - wifi What I'd recommend bringing: - swimsuit - towel - sandals - headlamps/flashlight Also, be aware that it is pack-in pack-out trash. I would absolutely recommend staying here :).

Jill’s property is a magical place. It far exceeded my expectations, it felt like a privilege to be on this land. You should be self sufficient if you plan to visit. I can’t wait to return!
