The only A-frame log cabin in the California Desert, Whitewater Cabin boasts 18-inch, hand–carved cedar timbers imported from the mountains of British Columbia. Its open concept design with warm interiors, comfortable furnishings and expansive windows that flood the space with natural light make this the perfect mountain getaway. Whitewater Cabin is located in Whitewater, CA just 10 miles northwest of Palm Springs, 45 minutes from Joshua Tree and two hours east of Los Angeles. Whitewater is a local secret: a small, hidden town you might just miss, despite being right off the 10 Freeway. Once there, however, you will find the area full of magic. Sitting on five unexpectedly lush acres and surrounded by BLM land, Whitewater Cabin features an ever running stream that runs right next to the Cabin. This stream, fed by water from the San Gorgonio Mountains, creates a verdant oasis full of hiking trails that begs for exploration. Drive just 6 minutes from the Cabin’s door and you will find yourself in the Whitewater Preserve, a gateway to the San Gorgonio Wilderness Backcountry. Whitewater is the historic Native American Cahuilla Indian village formerly named Wanapiapa (Place of Water). You can simultaneously relax, brush up on your photography, study some of the rare birds in the nearby oasis as well as explore the diverse nature at your doorstep. And if you’re a nature lover who also loves style, shop the likes of Gucci, Tom Ford, YSL, Alexander McQueen and more at the Desert Hills Premium Outlets, a mere 15 minute drive away. Our property borders BLM (Bureau of Land Management) Land which is open to further walk along the stream and explore. WI-FI Whitewater Cabin is in a stunningly remote location. Until recently, it was impossible to obtain any internet access at all. Thanks to Starlink, we now have fast satellite internet on site. Please note that it is normal for the system to drop out for periods of 30 seconds up to 2 minutes at a time since this is early stage technology. STRONG WINDS The winds in the desert are very strong between February and June which may limit your enjoyment of the outdoor amenities. We do all we can to navigate around the winds but cannot control the impact it may have on your stay. POWER OUTAGES The power is cut off for 8-12 hours at least twice a year by the electrical company in order for maintenance to be done (for instance in preparation for the fire seasons). We inform our guests of outages as soon as we are made aware but cannot control the time or manner in which this may impact your stay. REFUNDS Should any inconveniences such as those listed above or anything else beyond our control affect your stay, we will not provide refunds. Please understand certain things simply come with the windy, rural, desert location. Thank for understanding! PETS There is a one time, non-refundable pet fee of $80 per pet and no more than 2 dogs are allowed. We kindly request that any pets accompanying your reservation be specified under the "Extras" section. Failure to include this information will result in the pet fee being deducted from your deposit. REQUIREMENTS Upon booking, you will receive a link with a request to sign and agree to our house rules, verify your identity, pay our refundable security deposit, and schedule a phone call with our manager. Seriously, not one thing I could possibly say for improvement! This cabin was literally a Jem!!! We had such an amazing time and experience. This was perfect for two, literally had everything we needed for cooking, bathing relaxing and soaking in literally. We stayed for 11 days comfortably. They were writhing 15-30 minutes of bowling hiking shopping and so much more. The star bed at night was so beautiful, highly highly recommend! Also hospitality was on point, supper responsive if you need anything or have questions!

Magical experience near Joshua Tree

What a beautiful property! It looks exactly like the photos, was spotless, and has any amenity you would ever need. If you plan on cooking a meal here the kitchen is very well equipped. Also, the hot tub was such a nice touch. I can't say enough amazing things about the property. We will definitely be back.

Thoughtfully designed private cabin

This A-frame cabin is so beautiful and thoughtfully designed! The wood interiors are so warm and lovely. The large windows bring in so much light during the day. The king size mattress was so comfortable and it’s amazing waking up to the light streaming in from all four sides. Truly, this place is more beautiful in person. My fiancé and I booked this cabin as a weekend getaway from LA. It was the perfect spot to relax :) The cabin isn’t too far from town and Palm Springs but feels so private and tucked away because you’re in between the mountains. You also don’t see other houses or people so this feels like your own piece of the earth. Hot tub was lovely and fits just 2 people snuggly. We also used the bath for a nice soak. The cabin is near a wind farm, which you can see in the distance. It was pretty windy when we went so we didn’t use the fire pit. That wasn’t too much of a problem since inside the cabin is amazing. But on a less windy day, it would be such a lovely spot to hang out! Would come back again!

This was a perfect getaway. The house is in an amazing location and every little detail made our stay so enjoyable. Most importantly, the hosts were incredibly accommodating and responsive. They even helped me prepare a birthday gift for my girlfriend that was waiting for her when we arrived. 10/10 - would recommend to anyone!

This house provides the perfect spot for a romantic getaway for two. It is secluded and cozy, but not to far from local activities. Soaking in the hot tub watching the moon rise over the hills was truly breathtaking. The thoughtful details the host put into the house were also a nice touch. From the bath robes, choice in old records, cute little plants, to the lighting, made the place feel like a home away from home.

Such an adorable and perfect spot to relax for a few days! Jeff has thought out every detail that makes the stay more unique! The hot tub and pool were perfect amenities. Jeff was very communicative and responsive. Would definitely stay again!!

Relaxing, romantic, and gorgeous

Staying at the Wildflower cabin was one of the loveliest experiences - it's hard to believe you can find a secluded and private gem like this one less than an hour away from both Joshua Tree National Park and Palm Springs. The cabin itself is cozy and equipped with everything we needed for a luxurious weekend. We spent a good amount of time hanging out in the hot tub, where during the day you get a 360 view of the mountains and at night the perfect spot to stargaze from. Jeffrey is very responsive and so kind, even going out of his way to stock the kitchen with a rolling pin when we mentioned we would be hand making pasta (like what!) and giving us a quick call when we couldn't figure out the hot tub. Staying at the Wildflower Cabin makes you feel like you are having a lush spa weekend right in the heart of the rolling hills. If you spot a free weekend, I suggest snagging it up asap!

The cabin was in a beautiful secluded location, and minutes away from some great hiking at the Whitewater Preserve. The cabin had a great kitchen and nice living room. The bedroom was very luxurious for such a small space with a big comfy bed. Overall great place to stay for a getaway near Palm Springs.

The perfect getaway

The Wildflower Cabin is INCREDIBLE! This spot has everything you could possibly want or need, not to mention the fact that it's so private and secluded. The pool and hot tub are highlights—it was so dreamy to take a dip surrounded by desert with the wind turbines way off in the distance. Plus, the cabin itself is gorgeous with super beautiful craftsmanship, thoughtful details, and views out of every window. The amenities are also top-notch: snacks, coffee, games, essential oils, bath bombs for the clawfoot tub, robes, pool towels...even if you forget a toothbrush or a razor, extras are stocked. The Hosts have thought of absolutely everything and were incredibly communicative with tons of helpful info. I can't recommend this spot enough—if you're wondering if it's worth it, it is!
