Nice property that is easy to access. Likely to be sharing the property with other people. Plenty of space for two campsites. Dogs barking all night long. Bring earplugs.

The yard dog did it for me........

Perfect location for anyone hanging out in the Santa Cruz area. Was a perfect spot to set my camper van up for the night and enjoy a hot shower. The host was super nice, she had some chores to take care of near by (no bother at all) and offered me a bottle of wine... which I happily accepted. Dont know if it was the wine or the peaceful surroundings, but I slept like a baby. There is a near by street that some people zip by, but it did not bother me at all. Best part of all, was the super sweet dog that hangs by, she is the kindest ol lady. My dog is kinda of jerk and even he was staring at her with googly eyes. I believe her name was Nova? or Luna? Either way, she was a sweetie and made my night by the fire even better.

We had a great time at the Barn, we enjoyed the campfire and toys available. We felt safe with the friendly dog that made sure no squirrels ate our snacks when we weren’t looking!

We had a group of about 30 people and this campsite fit everyone comfortably! The property is beautiful—spacious, well-kept, and thoughtfully set up with just about everything you’d need for a great stay. It’s not quite glamping, but it’s definitely a step up from your typical camping experience. There’s a great balance of comfort and outdoor charm. One of the best parts is that it’s just a short distance from the beach, which made for some really fun and easy day trips. The only small downside was that a few of the dishes hadn’t been fully cleaned by the previous guests, but that was easy enough to take care of. Overall, a fantastic spot and we’d definitely come back!

Rustic Vibes With All The Amenities

What a special place to group camp! We hosted a retreat here and it was amazing. The barn kitchen allowed us to serve upscale fare to our guests. The firepit provided a cozy place gather in the evenings and roast marshmallows. Plenty of room for tents, though the ground is a bit sloped. Lots of games to play — corn hole, ping pong, disc golf and more. Not quite glamping, but pretty darn close.

Propane shower was hot. Easy to find. Wifi reached the creek site. Port a potty was very clean. Flat campground with well drained gravel. Nice bench and fire pit. The black lab was very sweet and liked our dog. Not very private in that it can be seen from the road and is downhill, and it is slightly noisy with a road on the other side of the small creek, but cover between creek and main road is good. Overall very nice for our purposes.

A nice semi private remote location with three possible campsites. Nicely spaced from each other and each is different. Nice gardens, nearby, clean Porta potty, freshwater and a stream. Small quiet road is relatively close.

Easy to find and access, good cell service. There’s a steep gravel driveway to access it and the level area of this site is also small gravel, which kept the ground dry but was angular - if tent camping, I would recommend bringing a footprint/tarp to protect the bottom of your tent. The porta potty was clean and the handwashing station was a nice touch. The host answered our questions promptly before and during our stay. The creek site is not as secluded as it looks in the photos which was fine for us but had some drawbacks- it is closest to the porta potty, and maybe 50 feet from the road. You’ll be able to hear music and louder conversations happening at the barn. Overall, it was a convenient, clean place to spend the night, which was what we needed!

Country camping at it’s finest

Clean, unique and pleasant surroundings. Dawn’s gardens are very pretty. Our site had water, a picnic table & unit for a campfire. Two other groups were camping nearby, also in vans , spaced out nicely so each of us had our semi private spots. Highly recommend!

Dawn and her son were excellent hosts. Communicated well and responded quickly when we had questions. This was an excellent spot to stay, We had tents and stayed at the Oak Grove which is next to the barn. There is a firepit and plenty of chairs. There is one outlet to charge your electronics if you have them. Ping pong was fun and there is corn hole too. The shower is an on-demand and worked well (there were six of us). If you have the option of having the barn door open then that is a huge plus.

Perfect setting for a relaxed group

We had a fantastic stay at Whiskey Hill Barn! Our group of 30 (plus a few dogs and kids in the mix) felt completely at home here. Dawn and her husband were incredibly kind and responsive—every little detail felt thoughtful and intentional. The outdoor hot shower was an absolute dream after a day of exploring, and we were so touched by the s’mores supplies they left out for us. It made for such a cozy evening around the fire. The site struck the perfect balance between glamping and camping: all the charm of the outdoors with just the right amount of comfort and ease. Everything we needed was easy to find, clean, and ready to go. Couldn’t have asked for a better setup for our big crew. Truly chef’s kiss all around—we’re already talking about coming back!

Amazing place to appreciate life

Our experience was top notch. My 2 kids (8 and 10yo), pup, and I absolutely had a blast. We came during my kids spring break so the dates were pretty much set in stone... We don't control the weather and it rained a bit (early April). We tented and the weather hit only at night. We camped at the barn/oak grove site and it was amazing. There's a little overhang from the barn which gave us a little bit of reprieve during the minimal day time sprinkles. Dawn and Sven have it dialed in. There is a fire pit and a wood stove to keep everyone warm at night. We set up camp on the hill, toward the oak tree. Fun things about their spot... 30 minute drive to tons of activities, very clean and well kept, table tennis for a lot of fun, the cleanest portapot, a great hot shower, tons of space, and the best thing, Luna, the camp dog. She is the sweetest pup that absolutely loves a little love and also is not intrusive in any way. Luna and Randi (our canine companion in life) ripped around and had a blast together. We may come back just for that. We would live there if we could and highly recommend their little slice of pie that is a nice mix of camping/glamping/fun. We hope everyone that visits makes the most of it and finds the joy that we found. Much love to all...

Whiskey Barn is a wonderful, thoughtfully appointed space. Dawn is a great host, and provided a very warm welcome. The fire pit was cozy with enough chairs for a large group, and the gardens are beautiful. All in all, a very nice place to land for our trip! The barn is close to the road, so you get some traffic noise, but the location is incredibly peaceful and very close to the beach.

The entire set up was awesome! Dawn and her husband were very nice and really responsive. The landscaping is pretty and the barn is picturesque. Definitely a cool place to rent out if you are traveling in a big group. And of course you can't forget about sweet Luna, the family dog that cruises around vicinity. So cute!

It was a nice secluded property with a lovely shower. Next to the road so you’ll hear a tiny bit of traffic. Also may recommend requesting some more specific instructions to the site itself, as the gate is clearly visible, but hard to tell at first if it’s *the* gate.

Lovely spot. But overpriced for us. If it’s a location you are looking for , this is lovely. But in our case a parking spot for USD143$ … I guess I was too broke.

Gracious hosts & a beautiful place

The land was beautiful and private! The bathroom was super clean and the outdoor shower was a treat. We booked a tent spot but with the rain, Dawn offered the barn for us to use as a dry hang-out spot. Not only was this a super kind gesture, but also the barn was the PERFECT spot for us to spend time in. It was beautifully decorated with lots of kitchen amenities, and they even left gifts for us to use which was very much appreciated. I absolutely loved this space and would highly recommend it to anyone!

This was one of my favorite spots I have stayed at so far. Favorite part was getting daily visits from Dawn’s dog, Luna. Felt very protected by her. The location was perfect! Only 20 minutes away from the boardwalk and close to really nice spots to go hiking. Dawn was very responsive and so sweet. Felt very safe and we had everything we needed to feel comfortable. Thank you so much Dawn!

Everything worked out great for our night in the Santa Cruz area. The spot was pretty easy to find even though the area is quite dark at night. Hookups worked with no issues, Wi-Fi was great, and the host was responsive.

Don’t miss this spot!

We had a lovely weekend at Dawn’s - the perfect setup for camping! The space is isolated enough from the road and host’s home to feel private, while having easy access to town and amenities like water, an outdoor shower, toilet, and even games set up on site. The string lights were so helpful at night around camp, and they even left us extra tools to get our fire going. Such kind and welcoming hosts, we look forward to coming back!

I had a fantastic experience at Whiskey Hill Barn and Camp! Dawn was an amazing host, going above and beyond to help me get my RV parked comfortably and even sharing some delicious local beer, which was a treat. The campsite was well-maintained, with a perfect blend of privacy and a welcoming atmosphere, even with two other families nearby. The area was peaceful, clean, and offered everything I needed for a relaxing stay. I would definitely come back and highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a comfortable, friendly camping experience!
