A Russian River Rustic and Very Private Retreat. This 1 1/2 acre Paradise that many of our friends call An Adult Disneyland is a magical place to visit. Each of our areas, whether for entertaining or residing, has its own theme and is decorated with care. Each of the listings has it's own private deck or patio and then you have access to all of the common areas on the property We promise you will feel like you are in the middle of nowhere, but you are minutes from everything. Lulu’s Landing and Captain Wack’s Cove is a pirate-themed Creekside hangout, where you can enjoy a fire, except during banned season. Also a great place to capture a glimpse of the numerous critters that cruise our creek. Foxes, Deer, Squirrels, Otters, Ducks and Herons as well as numerous songbirds that feed from our bird feeder. Lulu’s Lanai is a Flamingo-themed outdoor living room and dining area with fun vintage furniture and décor. The Take- A -Liki- Tiki Shower Shack is a great place to cool off and clean up after a day on the river or exploring tidepools at the coast. There is even a puppy bath station behind it for your furry friends! The Wack Shack is our outdoor bar and grill, full of fun, colorful lights and signs. There’s plenty of equipment to cook there: appliances, a BBQ, sink, fridge and walk-up bar. We also have several apple trees, a pear tree, and tons of blackberries when in season to share with our guest. Our Veggie Garden will be available next season to enjoy also. We are constantly improving our property so please stay in the finished designated guest areas only until we open up the coming attractions. There are plenty of sites and destinations within minutes from our home too! We have Tennis, Pickle Ball, and Basketball Courts around the corner. The Russian River/ Monte Rio public beach is a short walk past the Parks and Recreation Center, and they rent Kayaks and Canoes during the summer months. The Redwood Alliance camp is just a few miles up Bohemian Hwy if you dare to zip line through the redwood canopy forest or Armstrong woods in Guerneville for those that would rather keep their feet on the ground and take a hike to enjoy the majestic beauties. Duncan's Mill is a quaint town (less than 3 miles from us) on your way to Jenner by the Sea which is just about 9 miles to the west of us. You can take a gorgeous coastal drive to Bodega that is only 15 miles away. Historic Fort Ross is another beautiful 20 mile coastal drive. Bike Enthusiast love the back roads out here and the Biggest Attraction Is… Wait for it…. Wineries are everywhere! During the summer there are several Music Venues close by too. The Rio Nido Roadhouse has outdoor music on the weekends. Rockin the River is every other Thursday in Guerneville. The Monte Rio Variety Show just celebrated it 111th year to a sold-out crowd. Zac Brown, Steve Miller, Jimmy Buffet, James Taylor are just a few Headliners that have been here in the past. We have a great Lightwave coffee shop across the creek that is a quick 5 minute walk. There are several restaurants along the river as well as a small grocery store, movie theater, and a Homemade Ice Cream Parlor that are all close enough to walk to or drive. Guerneville is a quick 4 mile drive and has a Safeway and many restaurants and quaint shops too. Adults of 21 years or older only please. TOT#4440N

The Boathouse
Our stay at the boathouse was so much fun! Lynda and Rick have put a ton of effort into their place and it shows. The Boathouse has its own porch which overlooks the creek and the detached bathroom and kitchen were easy to access at night due to path lights. Lightwave Coffee is just across the creek and a must if you stay here. We had a wonderful time and I would recommend this hipcamp to all my friends!

Cozy Cabin
As all the previous reviews have said, this is a beautiful, peaceful, and unique place to stay! Lynda Lu and Rich were welcoming and easy to communicate with, and the layout of the property is really thoughtful so that everything feels tucked away and private. We only wish we could have stayed longer to take advantage of all the different spaces to hang out, especially the cozy cabin’s private deck / patio with grill, string lights, and hot tub. Some details: everything was very neat and clean, the bed was comfortable, and wifi was good enough to plan our next activity / meal. Proximity to Lightwave coffee (2-3 minute walk across the creek) and a few local hiking trails was a plus, and live music at the Monte Rio theater on Saturday night was a pleasant surprise!

The Boathouse
July 4th Firework Escape/Get Away
We had a great time. The Boat House is small, but very cozy. Having the creek right in front of us was perfect. Our dog had the BEST time running around the property and playing in the creek. All the amenities such as the "wack shack", fire pit, tables, chairs, and ample spaces to just chill out and relax are such a fun bonus. Walking distance to the beach also makes for a fabulous time! Would definitely recommend and come back again. Linda and her husband Rich are great hosts! :)

The Boathouse
Drive along the scenic Bohemian Hwy beneath the fabled redwoods, enter an unmarked gate, and step into an imaginative creekside hideaway for grown-ups. With its cluster of elevated, grass-thatched huts & a secluded cabin linked by charming footpaths, it looks like you’ve stumbled upon the backlot of a movie set in Bora Bora, with a dash of Pee Wee’s Playhouse thrown in. So kick back. Enjoy the natural beauty. Wander around the grounds & discover the many clever and whimsical design elements scattered throughout. A pair of surfboards in the shower& kitschy little touches that make you smile? Check. Amenities like top-notch bedding, gas grill, and a fully-equipped kitchen (including ice-maker!) that opens onto a tiki-themed, pass-through bar? Check. Countless little outdoor seating areas, including a water-side fire pit, and private decks attached to each dwelling? Yup. Altogether, WackaWonderland checks all the boxes. Affordable, too! A word about the hosts. Not only have they built these accommodations virtually from scratch, using up-cycled materials & re-purposed artifacts, but both of them understand the concept of hospitality. Engaging and welcoming, but never intrusive. Forthcoming with restaurant recs & “sneaky pete” shortcuts to the beach, but never pushy. What’s more, they've thoughtfully anticipated guest needs as though they themselves were the vacationers -- a rare virtue. Clearly this enterprise is a labor of love. And lucky you! You get to enjoy it all!

The Boathouse
The boathouse camp site was perfect for a mix between camping and glamping. We had a nice "tiny house" bedroom with patio and big shared kitchen and BBQ grill. It felt like staying at a private summer camp. The Hosts were kind and very helpful and well informed about the area. We will definitely stay there again 😁
