A Russian River Rustic and Very Private Retreat. This 1 1/2 acre Paradise that many of our friends call An Adult Disneyland is a magical place to visit. Each of our areas, whether for entertaining or residing, has its own theme and is decorated with care. Each of the listings has it's own private deck or patio and then you have access to all of the common areas on the property We promise you will feel like you are in the middle of nowhere, but you are minutes from everything. Lulu’s Landing and Captain Wack’s Cove is a pirate-themed Creekside hangout, where you can enjoy a fire, except during banned season. Also a great place to capture a glimpse of the numerous critters that cruise our creek. Foxes, Deer, Squirrels, Otters, Ducks and Herons as well as numerous songbirds that feed from our bird feeder. Lulu’s Lanai is a Flamingo-themed outdoor living room and dining area with fun vintage furniture and décor. The Take- A -Liki- Tiki Shower Shack is a great place to cool off and clean up after a day on the river or exploring tidepools at the coast. There is even a puppy bath station behind it for your furry friends! The Wack Shack is our outdoor bar and grill, full of fun, colorful lights and signs. There’s plenty of equipment to cook there: appliances, a BBQ, sink, fridge and walk-up bar. We also have several apple trees, a pear tree, and tons of blackberries when in season to share with our guest. Our Veggie Garden will be available next season to enjoy also. We are constantly improving our property so please stay in the finished designated guest areas only until we open up the coming attractions. There are plenty of sites and destinations within minutes from our home too! We have Tennis, Pickle Ball, and Basketball Courts around the corner. The Russian River/ Monte Rio public beach is a short walk past the Parks and Recreation Center, and they rent Kayaks and Canoes during the summer months. The Redwood Alliance camp is just a few miles up Bohemian Hwy if you dare to zip line through the redwood canopy forest or Armstrong woods in Guerneville for those that would rather keep their feet on the ground and take a hike to enjoy the majestic beauties. Duncan's Mill is a quaint town (less than 3 miles from us) on your way to Jenner by the Sea which is just about 9 miles to the west of us. You can take a gorgeous coastal drive to Bodega that is only 15 miles away. Historic Fort Ross is another beautiful 20 mile coastal drive. Bike Enthusiast love the back roads out here and the Biggest Attraction Is… Wait for it…. Wineries are everywhere! During the summer there are several Music Venues close by too. The Rio Nido Roadhouse has outdoor music on the weekends. Rockin the River is every other Thursday in Guerneville. The Monte Rio Variety Show just celebrated it 111th year to a sold-out crowd. Zac Brown, Steve Miller, Jimmy Buffet, James Taylor are just a few Headliners that have been here in the past. We have a great Lightwave coffee shop across the creek that is a quick 5 minute walk. There are several restaurants along the river as well as a small grocery store, movie theater, and a Homemade Ice Cream Parlor that are all close enough to walk to or drive. Guerneville is a quick 4 mile drive and has a Safeway and many restaurants and quaint shops too. Adults of 21 years or older only please. TOT#4440NThe Rustic Cabin is where you will be staying. It is in the very back of the property and you have your own private deck, patio, hot tub and sitting area under the Bay tree.  The Cabin sleeps 2 but you can also rent the boat house to provide another bed if you are a party of 4. You also have access and are welcome to use any of the common areas that are in the property photos.  These areas are only for the guests of the cabin and boat house so if you are renting both listings for 1 group of 4 you are the only ones with access to these areas. The Cozy Cabin has been made from recycled, upcycled and repurposed items collected for several years from all over the area. The Walls were milled from fallen trees in the area. The live edges and chinking in between looks like a rustic cabin from the Old West. The bathroom has a gorgeous redwood burl that we pulled off the property and turned it into a hanging counter that holds a brightly colored glass sink in the shape of a giant leaf. There is an old glass door from a Dentist Office from the City that hangs on an industrial style barn door hanger. All the Granite in the kitchen and end tables was gifted to us and the double wide soaking tub as well.  Tons of fun décor are displayed on the 2 redwood slab shelves that are 3 inches thick and 10ft long that run along each side of the cabin living area. We supply all the bedding and towels along with robes and beach towels for hot tub use. A cozy electric fireplace with remote will help to keep you warm on the cooler fall nights and also a toasty heated mattress pad. A small fridge, coffee pot, microwave, toaster, small toaster oven, and a Nuwave Induction Stove top are available for you along with pots, pans plates, glasses and utensils.  The lighting is well thought out and can be dimmed for a Rustic Romantic night inside or out.  The cool double ceiling fan helps keep it cooler on those hot summer days and nights.  A family member gave us all their new windows that they decided not to install so there is plenty of light and the large Palladium window allows you a tree top view from the king size bed of one of the largest Bay trees I have ever seen. It is a beautiful backdrop all lit up at night as you soak in the hot tub on the patio or dine on the covered deck.

Cozy Cabin
This was our second stay at Lynda & Rich’s cozy place in Monte Rio! We stayed in the Cabin this time and really enjoyed the extra space and the hot tub. The home made apple juice from the tree in their yard is such a delicious treat! We will definitely be back again.

Cozy Cabin
The Cozy Cabin at Wackalulu Wonderland was the perfect retreat! Every detail, from the charming decor to the thoughtful touches like the Leaki Tiki bathroom, made our stay feel truly special. The space was full of character, and the warm welcome we received set the tone for a memorable weekend. This trip marked a big milestone in our lives, as we celebrated a proposal surrounded by my favorite animals, cows, just outside of Zanah Farms. It was an unforgettable moment, and having the cabin as our home base made it all the more magical. Thank you, Linda and Rich, for creating such a unique, whimsical space. The care and creativity you put into every inch of this retreat is truly inspiring!

The Boathouse
We had the perfectly relaxing weekend at the Boathouse. Lynda and Rich really do provide you with everything you could possible want/need. The Boathouse was perfect for our needs, plenty of room, comfortable and plenty warm even on the chilly nights. The creek was dried up because it's fall, but we were still able to see a lot of critters and tons of birds. We spent most of our time down by the firepit playing cards, dominoes and just relaxing! We even ended up cooking dinner down there. With the occasional visit from their pup, who is the best! This is glamping at it's finest! We will definitely be coming back and hopefully for longer some time! It really was the perfect weekend getaway!

The Boathouse
Awesome location, close to things you need but also remote and very full of nature. The boat house is definitely cozy, but is not lacking comfort. Despite being pretty chilly outside it was nice and toasty inside. The property is full of delightful things, and all of the creature comforts of home.

Cozy Cabin
We had a lovely 3 night experience. Everything was a breeze from finding the place to check in and just having the place entirely to ourselves. A real zen for some down time and relaxation. Thank you Lynda!

Cozy Cabin
Cozy Indeed!
Lynda and Rich are lovely people and excellent hosts of their beautiful slice of riverside redwood forest. Upon arrival we were welcomed in and got a thorough orientation of the cabin and grounds' amenities and necessities. Rich even left us some freshly pressed apple juice straight from their tree and set up the fire ring for quick and easy lounging around it. Lynda shared fresh herbs from her garden to add to our home cooked feast that were the perfect, fresh touch. Lots of love for the generosity! They were very easy going about our coming and going and good communicators as well. The outdoor kitchen, bar, and lounge spaces under the trees and bamboo were both comfy and fun to look at--this place is decorated inside and out with kitschy art, much homemade by our fun hosts. Good star gazing spot also. The bed in the cabin was very comfortable and warm (nice touch with the heating pads under the sheets I've got to adopt that practice at home!). The kitchenette was amply stocked. The outdoor dining table on the cabin porch was a lovely place to have a meal and drink. Wish we had more time to really dig in to all of the amenities, including the hot tub which looked inviting and clean. I'd love to come back with a few more friends and stick around longer next time. The location is in walking distance from Monte Rio beach and the town theater. This river rat gives the Wackalulu's an A+ for style, graceful hosting, comfort, glamping to the next level!
