Spectacular mountain views!
Donovan’s deck by the trailer site had spectacular views of the mountains, and we could hear the river below. It was quiet and private, and the large beds in the RV were super comfortable. Cooking with the outdoor gas grill was great. In addition to the fridge inside the trailer, the site came with an extra large cooler on the deck that worked well - bring your own ice. Donovan was still fine tuning the solar electricity and gas hot water systems in the trailer when we stayed at this site. He was extremely responsive and helpful to our requests about that. I recommend arriving during daylight hours if you are able to. Navigating the rural roads near the site for the first time (before Donovan met us near the property to guide us to the site) was tricky for us at night. Be aware this site is about an hour’s drive inland from I-5 along the coast. If you are visiting someone in the military stationed at Camp Pendleton, it’s a little faster to go through the base if you are sponsored onto base by someone with a military ID. You can go out but not in Camp Pendleton at the Fallbrook NWS gate, which is about 15 minutes drive from this site. The nearest gas, groceries, and other supplies are in Fallbrook, about 15 minutes down the hill.
