We named our property the Twisted Branch after one of the big oak trees that sits on the site where you will camp with us! It's on a hilltop with amazing views in nearly all directions. The campsite faces South/West so sunsets are fantastic. We use no chemicals on the soil or annual grasses. It is very quiet and the night sky is always stunning. Owls hoot at night and Redtail Hawks hunt for ground squirrels during the day. We have alot of Acorn woodpeckers living in the oak trees, the ones with the bright red head feathers. April through June we see bright yellow Orioles. At night you will hear hundreds of little frogs in the nearby ponds, depending on the season. We are located in the heart of Wine Country and there are plenty of activities around us and in town.Peace and quiet, views all around, clear, starry nights, in the country but minutes from town.  This is what you experience at the Twisted Branch in Paso Robles, CA. The site is on top of a hill and overlooks vineyards and ranches. It is flat and amenities are minimal. It's the perfect place to unwind, decompress and enjoy nature. The 180+ degree views are incredible.  You will see birds, deer, fox, rabbits, and other wildlife.  The dirt driveway is a bit steep for larger RV's, therefore our limit is 20' and 4 wheel drive is recommended. There are several large beautiful oak trees with heavy low canopies on the way to the site. In the summer and fall, there is risk of damage to higher-than-standard trailers. We are near Sculpterra Winery and Cass Wineries. The town of Paso Robles is 4 miles away and has anything you may need. Our dirt driveway is somewhat steep. Some campers without 4-wheel drive and pulling a trailer have not been able to get to the top of the drive. This has seldom occurred but we want you to know this. Most trailers and 2-wheel drive vehicles do just fine but if your trailer is extra heavy, it could cause you a problem. Feel free to contact us prior to booking; we're happy to help out. During the summer months, there are cattle here grazing. We move the cows prior to your visit. We ask that you book by 3 pm so we can get them moved and are ready for your arrival. If you cannot make the 3pm deadline-to-book request, contact us and we will do what we can. We look forward to sharing our little piece of paradise with you!

Peace and quiet, views all around, clear, starry nights, in the country but minutes from town.  This is what you experience at the Twisted Branch in Paso Robles, CA. The site is on top of a hill and overlooks vineyards and ranches. It is flat and amenities are minimal. It's the perfect place to unwind, decompress and enjoy nature. Great views and very level for tent sleeping! Jac is a fabulous host with clear directions and very welcoming check-in. We had a lovely stay at twisted ranch, wish we could have stayed longer - will have to come back!

Perfect for family

Jac was an awesome and friendly host. We gathered here for a family weekend camping trip and had an incredible time (8 people total of all ages). The sunrises, sunsets, and starry nights were so beautiful at this site and we also loved seeing all the animals around the property. Would definitely come here again or recommend to others!

Tranquil Times At Twisted Branch

Jac and his wife were very kind and welcoming while greeting us upon our arrival. They even offered to moved the picnic table to accommodate us if needed, and set us up with 2 canvas chairs as well as a box of goodies: tablecloth, plates, reading materials, cards, etc. The views from our camping spot were amazing! We love get visited by friendly cows as they came up to drink from their water trough. The port-o-potty was one the cleanest we have ever seen! We especially enjoyed the peace and tranquility while staying at Twisted Branch. It was a nice place to try out our new slide-in camper. We brought our 18 yr old dog as part of his bucket list and he was not disappointed! And neither were we!! Thank you, Robin & Mike

What a view! Jac was incredibly welcoming upon our arrival. After passing their home, you continue to follow a dirt path that leads to the campsite. The spot offers plenty of privacy and a magnificent view of the sunset. The night was calm and quiet, except for the occasional howls of coyotes—which we actually enjoyed. Cows roamed nearby but kept their distance, making it perfect for my toddler, who was curious and loved watching them. The property feels secluded, yet shops, restaurants, and wineries are only a short drive away for exploring the town. We can’t wait to go back!

We love the serenity of this space. The view, the wild life and the cows! Perfect place to sit, capture peace and stare at the stars. Because the space is so big you definitely have your privacy. We go back every year and will continue to do so. It's a special spot and I highly recommend.

This Hipcamp is literally amazing so beautiful and peaceful. They saved our lives we booked very late coming from another camp that wasn’t the best they still accepted us and let us stay in the middle of the night! We woke up to cows right outside our tent which was incredible. They were nothing but great hosts and I will 100% be coming back.

Gorgeous spot and Jac was super friendly and helpful. We loved waking up to the gorgeous view and enjoying it for sunset as well. Everything was convenient- getting in and out and we had everything. We needed- highly recommend and we will definitely be back!

Extraordinary Place and Host

Our stay at Twisted Branch was nothing short of magical. The site is perched high on a hill, offering extraordinary panoramic views of rolling vineyards that felt straight out of the Italian countryside. It was private, peaceful, and the perfect place to unwind while soaking in the beauty of Paso Robles wine country. Jac, our host, was absolutely wonderful—kind, helpful, and full of fun energy that made our experience even more memorable. His hospitality made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. If you’re looking for a serene escape with breathtaking scenery and a host who truly cares, this is the spot. Highly recommend and can’t wait to return!

Beautiful hilltop views

We camped at Twisted Branch with a rooftop tent. Jac was responsive to communication, provided clear directions, and greeted us upon arrival. The site had a large picnic table, two camp chairs, a fresh smelling porta potty, and hose with potable water. We parked our truck with roof top tent overlooking the valley below. The views were spectacular…rolling hills, a vineyard, moss covered trees adjacent, and a gorgeous sunset. We brought our own propane fire pit and a few portable lights. It was windy when we arrived and set up camp early evening. . However, the wind decreased for our sunset dinner and we enjoyed relaxing under the stars. We heard owls at night and barking dogs (coyotes?). We saw cows in the distance, woodpeckers, chirping birds, and a baby deer briefly in the morning. It was a relaxing and rejuvenating experience overall and we highly recommend this property.

I stayed at Jac's property and it was absolutely beautiful. From the moment we arrived, Jac and his wife were incredibly kind and welcoming. they truly made us feel at home. The place itself was stunning, very private, and surrounded by beautiful scenery that made the experience even more special. It's also conveniently located just about 10 minutes from stores, which was super helpful. This was me and my friends first time camping, and we're so glad we chose this spot. It was the perfect balance of comfort, nature, and peace. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable getaway

The views from the property were so beautiful! We spent 4th of July night laying out and watching fireworks nearby which was a real treat. My wife especially loved the very friendly cows that kept us company while we stayed here (they even greeted us at the gate as soon as we pulled in!) Highly recommend staying here for the views, peace/quiet, wildlife and very warm and welcoming hosts, Jac & Cristy :)

Jac's property was a beautiful spot to kick off our camping trip. The views were amazing and getting to camp next to the animals was a cool experience. We had 2 Sprinter vans, there was plenty of room and it felt private. Getting on the property was easy and Jac was a great host. We would love to stay here again!

We got in super late, but Jac stayed up to welcome us and make sure we could pull our car in safely and turned the lights on so we could get our tent set up. The morning was lovely, with peaceful views, and we had a few visitors (cows). The kids loved it.

Loved our stay here with our 2 young kids and doggo. Jac is a very warm and inviting host. The views are spectacular. The camping spot is quiet and secluded (just cows for neighbors), nice and level for our truck camper. Would definitely come back again!

Couldn't have asked for a nicer host or a more beautiful place to camp. Jac was super warm and welcoming (he even left camping chairs and a tub with takeout menus, playing cards, and amenities) and the site is spectacular -- big views of the surrounding hills and vineyards, big oaks with the namesake twisting branches, and a big sky filled with stars at night. Put this site on your list.

The view is amazing from the spot. It was quiet and our dog loved being off leash. Lots of birds and we saw some deer a the way to the property. You could hear sheep every morning from the neighboring farm. The Porto potty was very clean. Was very windy one night but we just stayed inside.

I recently had the pleasure of camping at Twisted Branch, and it was an absolutely incredible experience. Perched on a hilltop, this spot offers breathtaking panoramic views that stretch for miles. Whether you’re catching the sunrise or the sunset, the scenery is truly beyond belief. One of the highlights for me was the stargazing. The clear, open sky allows for an incredible view of the stars, making it the perfect spot for anyone looking to immerse themselves in nature and enjoy the night sky. Wildlife is abundant here as well—during my stay, I spotted deer, hawks, and a variety of other birds nearby. The peaceful surroundings really give you a sense of escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The directions to Twisted Branch were straightforward, so getting there was no hassle. Jac was wonderful—welcoming us at check-in, offering helpful advice, and checking in at the end of our stay to make sure we had everything we needed. I highly recommend Twisted Branch for anyone looking for a serene spot to camp in.

Stunning views on short notice

It was a bit of a steep climb to Jac’s site but well maintained and well worth it. Views are stunning and my kids loved watching a few little gophers pop in and out of their hidey holes. Also appreciated the instant booking option and prompt response times. Would recommend and stay again!
