Tranquility Base A True Glamping …

"Tranquility Base" is a glamping (glamorous camping) experience of a lifetime! Come rest and unwind in this remote, completely off the grid, fabulous RV that’s run on sunshine and being playfully restored to resemble a small spaceship. Days are crisp and sunny, but temps drop at night during the winter season, so we ask our guests to bring their OWN sleeping bags and/or extra heavy blankets and pillows, as we do not offer linen service during the winter season. Think of Tranquility Base as a great midpoint between 'not being in a tent' and 'not being in a hotel'. It's a happy medium! It's glamping! A chance to be the front lines of Joshua Tree's beauty, wild life and solitude. The 5 acre property which is yours to explore, has over 30 mature Joshua Trees and is one of the quietest places you’ll ever experience. Those wishing to “get away from it all” for some real rest and relaxation, will find it most appealing. This is a place you can hear the wind blow and the flapping of crow's wings above. Full access to all amenities and areas including: Sealed critter-proof patio (perfect for small kids/animals to play safely) with shade structure, outdoor dining area, 2 camping chairs, plenty of parking, five acres of private land with direct access to hundreds of acres of mountains for HIKING right off the property! We do generate enough power to charge your phones, laptops, iPads, gaming devices, etc... so, if you choose to bring those, you are welcome to charge them with solar power :) Feel free to collect from the plenitude of dry wood on the property to make a fire, but please don't cut down any of the plants or trees, there is plenty to collect from the ground. ***One special perk: You can hike, find and gather snowy quartz from a nearby crystal mine, directly north of our property, that produces, milky white, yin crystals. Although we are always upgrading the RV, remember, that at this time, there is no running water. Only water via dispensers for dish washing and tooth brushing. Excellent solar shower available in bathroom/tub. There is a daily bird feeding at 1pm that we encourage our guests to do. Seed is provided, all you need to do is throw the seed around the area , outside of the RV and slip back inside the patio, where you will be able to watch the bevy of birds and critters that come to feed. Our property is super close (hiking distance) to the Joshua Tree Retreat Center, which hosts, Bhakti Fest, Shakti Fest, Happiness Academy and a multitude of other spiritual retreats all year round. If they are at capacity or you just want a quiet alternative, away from festival hubbub, we are just north of their center. Other local events include: Joshua Tree Music Festival, UFO Convention, Coachella, Integraton, Giant Rock and a new place offering sensory deprivation tank experiences. The Joshua Tree National Park, which you can see from the property is only 8 minutes away! Also, ask us about the 'locals only' secret entrance into the park... We do accept pets, but must consider case by case, so please write, ask and provide details. We love our furry friends, but due to the vast bird and wild life population on the property, need to monitor the type and size of pets that stay on Tranquility Base. Joshua Tree, California and the surrounding area is known as the Morongo Basin. It is a desert on top of a mountain. Here, you are 2000 miles closer to the sun! The area is composed of two deserts: The low desert called the Colorado, which includes Palm Springs and rises to 3,000 ft above sea level. The Mojave Desert, a high desert, ascends to nearly 6,000 feet. Currently, the area contains 700 plant species, 240 bird species, 40 mammals, and 45 reptile species. Joshua Tree got its name by a group of Mormon settlers who crossed the Mojave Desert in the mid-19th century. The tree's unique shape reminded them of a Biblical story in which Joshua reaches his hands up to the sky in prayer. Humans have occupied this ancient desert land for at least 5,000 years. The first group known to inhabit the area was the Pinto Culture, followed by the Serrano, the Chemehuevi and the Cahuilla Indians.

Tranquility Base - Joshua Tree Glamping Experience!
I am so glad we stayed here instead of camping at a campground. It was very peaceful and there a ton of birds and bunnies to watch for entertainment. If you want a step up from camping but still have that camping experience this is a great option. I would definitely stay here again.
